Chapter 22~ "Am I just another girl to him?"
"Okay we're happy you two are together but please stop making out and being all lovey dovey." Holly says and shivers dramatically as I roll my eyes and chuckle.
Right now, Seth, Holly, Casey and I are sitting in Griffins, our local hangout. Holly and Seth are sitting across us in the booth as Casey constantly kisses my cheek and jawline.
"You two are together?" A familiar voice says and I turn to see Jamie standing behind us.
My eyes instantly form an apologetic look as I go to speak to Jamie.
"Jamie, I-" I begin but he cuts me off.
"Forget it Emily, congrats." He says and then runs out.
I look at Casey,"I have to go after him Case. He deserves an explanation."
"Why? You didn't cheat on him with me."
"We went out on a date. I should have told him Casey. Now please, let me out." I beg him.
He reluctantly stands up and I run after Jamie as he begins to get into his car.
"I should've told you." I say when I reach him.
"You didn't have to. It was one date."
"You told me you liked me Jay, you deserved to know."
"Well what's done is done. Just don't come running to me when he breaks your heart. Which he will." He says through his window.
"He won't do that to me." I defend.
Jamie chuckles and looks back at me, "Casey may be one of my best friends, but I know him and I know his player ways. You're nobody different to him."
"I'm his best friend." I whisper quietly but loud enough for him to hear.
"You were his best friend. Now you're just another girl to him."
Jamie drives off and I'm left standing there in the parking lot.
Is he right? Am I just another girl to Casey? Will things be the same?
I shake out of my thoughts and walk back into the others.
Casey moves over in the booth when he sees me and I sit down with a small grin playing my lips but I can't shake what Jamie said to me.
"You okay?" Holly asks and I nod.
"How'd he take it?" Casey questions.
"Fine." I answer not making eye contact with him.
"I'm gonna go get a refill." I say grabbing my glass and walking up the counter and I realise Holly is following close behind me then stands beside me.
Neither of us saying anything until I break the silence, "what if I'm just another girl?"
I look at the ground and then gradually look up and make eye contact with Holly.
"Don't say or think that Em."
"No Holly. I can't not think it. Jamie was right, once a player always a player. Am I just another game to him? Maybe it's a bet with the guys. I wonder if Casey can bag Emily." I suggest.
"Wait, Jamie? Jamie put this information in your head? Emily do you know how crazy you're being right now? Casey is heads over heels for you and if you can't see that, you're mad. Now who are you going to believe, a guy you went on 2 dates with the first where Casey third wheeled and the second which you couldn't shake Casey from your mind, or your best friend?"
"Holly he's a player. Some things just don't add up. But I guess you're right. He wouldn't do that to me."
Would he?
"Finally. Now come back to the table. Pizzas getting cold."
I sit down and Seth decided to crack a joke.
"I remember that last thing my grandpa asked me before he kicked the bucket," He begins.
"I wonder how far I can kick this bucket." He finishes it and we all look around at each other before I throw my head into Caseys bicep laughing uncontrollably.
Hey, I didn't say it was a good joke.
"Oh babe, maybe stick with the football." Holly says patting him on the back making me and Casey laugh even harder.
I finally sit back up and look at my group of friends. This is my second family. If it wasn't for Holly, I'd still think I was just another girl of Caseys. If it wasn't for Casey, I wouldn't had to think that at all and if it wasn't for Seth, Holly wouldn't be in a good mood all the time. Okay so maybe those things are the best qualities but trust me, these 3 amazing people, I love.

"Ah finally! We knew it was happening but honestly we were living on a flatline. Will they? Won't they? But finally. Congratulations." My mom and Zoey squeal.
Now you may be thinking that we told our parents but no, our moms walked in on us kissing innocently, not full on making out. Just a gentle kiss and they jumped up and down like kids. Well our moms did anyway.
"Thank you. Now I should go. School tomorrow." Casey says and I smile and hop off the bed with him.
"I'll be right in Case." Zoey says.
"Um, I'll walk you out." I say and take Caseys hand and walk him to the front door.
"So this is happening?" He questions.
I nod and grin at him, "guess so."
Casey wraps his arms around my small petite body and I put mine under is arm as he rests his chin on my head.
"I won't let anything ruin this Em. I'm in this for the long run." He whispers in a confident tone making me smile.
"That's all I needed to hear." I whisper back and he pulls away and kisses me on the forehead and I close my eyes.
"Goodbye Emily." He says as I lean against the front door with a smile.
"Goodbye Casey."
I close the door and turn around to be faced with my family and Caseys.
I sigh and step away from my door and begin to walk up the staircase.
"Didn't know we had an audience." I say and they all chuckle.
I feel a hand grab my wrist lightly making me come face to face with Zoey.
"He won't hurt you Em. He cares too much, I can tell." She says and I smile.
"Me too."
And like that, all insecurities of me being just another girl disappear.
He's in it for the long run.
Never forget that Emily.
