Chapter Thirty-Five: Fear Number Eight!
Chapter Thirty-Five!
As I sit there in the darkness I see a door open form before my eyes. I carefully stand up, and slowly inch towards the door. When I get close enough I crane my head just enough to see where I'm entering. Its a room a plain empty room. I walk through the door, turning my head in every way possible, just in case that I missed something. I continue walking.
"Christina!" I hear my mothers voice, and immediately turn around. To see my mother standing with Rose, and my father. I look at them, then shift my eyes over to Eric who is standing right next to them. He holds a gun in his hand, and points it at my mother temple.
"You have a choice," Eric says, and suddenly I feel like I'm back in the aptitude test room. "If you want to pass Dauntless initiation, and become a member, all you have to do is take this gun and kill your family," He says it in such a manner that makes me feel like killing my family is that simple, but I know better.
"If I don't?" I ask. I'm not going to do anything until, I know all of my options.
"Then I kill your family, and you become Factionless." He spits the word Factionless at me.
I begin to way my options when I hear Erics familiar cruel laugh.
"I was just kidding you have no choice it's kill them or I kill you." He hand me the gun, and steps aside. Holding the gun in my hands feels familiar. It's not picking up the gun, and aiming that's hard, it's the killing. that I find impossible, but what choice do I really have?
I pick up the gun slowly, to my mothers face. I see fear in her eyes, and immediately look away, I focus on my aim. I click the bullet chamber into place, and right before I pull the trigger. I mutter I'm sorry!
Then I turn around, and shoot. That's when Eric's body falls to the ground.
"Not so smart are you?" I say, and a smirk forms on my lips. I turn back to look at my family, when I discover that they are already gone. I look around the rest of the room, and see the room start to disappear first the floor, then the walls, then finally the light. Once again I'm left alone in the darkness.
