XXVI: Turning Tables
Miyako collapsed onto her knees, the feeling of her life being sucked out of her sending the most agonizing pain to all parts of her body.
Sasuke watched her, worry and panic glinting in his eyes as he made a move towards her.
"No, Sasuke.. D-don't bother with me." Miyako gasped out. She could feel Shiroryuu raging inside of her, but even through this pain she forced Shiroryuu down, wanting to shield her from this.
"What did you do to her?!" Sasuke roared, his expression filled with fury as he looked up at Orochimaru.
"I've just simply lifted the wall on her memories. Well, the memories on all my experiments on her, that is. Even the first. It may be true that I cannot kill Miyako, but instead, I can have her kill herself."
Orochimaru then charged at Sasuke, fangs jutting out as Sasuke jumped up, landing on his scales. Small snakes shot out from Orochimaru's snake scales, but Sasuke cut them down easily.
Sasuke then flipped in the air as he landed on the opposite end of the room from Miyako, but he could not see her since Orochimaru was in between them.
More snakes charged at Sasuke as he flipped back, slicing a few of their heads off.
And then he flipped back around, sheathing his sword before removing his arms from his clothing that covered his torso, as it hung at his sides. Orochimaru's snakes begun to slither their way up Sasuke's legs, just as Sasuke's mark spread throughout his entire face to his torso, before dissolving into his skin as a star like mark appeared on his nose, his hair shifting to a long length and a gray color. The white in his eyes were now a dark gray, his lips matching the color of his hair as well.
"A snake that slithers on the ground can only dream of flying through the air." As Sasuke spoke, Orochimaru's snakes wrapped around him completely. "You wanted it so badly that you went after the fledgling in the nest.. that you went after the powers of a girl you abducted that even you cannot control... But you became targeted as the prey instead.." The snakes exploded around Sasuke as they fell into clumps around him. Wings created from his own body and skin protruded through Sasuke's back, his form confident as he continued to speak. "..by the eyes of a hawk soaring high above the sky."
Orochimaru sent another group if snakes to attack him. Sasuke swiftly dodged his attack, forming a chidori sword in his hand. Orochimaru's snakes followed him, but Sasuke shot into the air, slicing Orochimaru's snakes into pieces. Sasuke took that split moment to look over where Miyako laid, her body still trembled as she groaned and hissed at the pain, biting her lip so hard that blood trickled down her chin. She knew not to scream, not wanting to distract Sasuke from his true goal. He was thankful that she held in her screams as he turned his attention back to the Serpent.
Orochimaru charged at Sasuke again, jaw wide open. "Sasuke!!"
In a split second Sasuke was standing on the ground, towering before Orochimaru's shredded carcass.
"Its over.. That was too quick."
But Sasuke spoke too soon as he suddenly gasped, falling down onto one knee.
Orochimaru laughed. "Looks like its finally beginning to take effect.. The body fluid of the giant white snake vaporizes upon contact with the air and becomes an annesthetic. I am immortal. The likes of your jutsu cannot kill me! Now then.. I shall have you now!"

Miyako
This pain.. I can't take it... Its like a never ending roller coaster. Images flashed through my eyes, images of my own self being cut up, images of Orochimaru injecting me with dozens of drugs that would cause my body to collapse most of the time.
And then when I would be almost dead, Shiroryuu would emerge to protect me. But Father was ready for her. He tortured her too, stealing a tiny bit of her chakra those countless times that he tortured us.
It wasn't the experiments he performed myself that angered me. It was the fact that he tortured Shiroryuu too.
And Shiroryuu never told me.
It was so hard to not scream. I was so overcome with these images and the remembrances of pain on my body that I couldn't focus on what was happening between Orochimaru and Sasuke. My heart was hurting too because I could feel Shiroryuu screaming inside of me.
I didn't know how long I had been enduring this; it seemed like years had passed before it finally stopped.
The minute it stopped I shot up, gasping for air as I felt my bottom lip aching. I licked my lips along it, tasting my own blood.
Although I couldn't feel the horrid pain of the memories, I could still see them constantly flashing through my eyes.
I didn't bother to look around. I knew he was dead. I no longer felt a strong and ominous hold over me. I felt as if I had been released from something, meaning that the bond was finally... severed.
I didn't move or react as I saw Sasuke bend down beside me, picking me up in his arms. His touch was so warming and comforting, the feel of him calming my racing heart beat.
I could feel his expression watching my face, waiting for any change.
And then he spoke.
But not to me.
"Kabuto, is that you?"
Again, I didn't bother to look.
Sasuke begun to walk after a few moments, holding me tightly in his arms as he approached the exit.
As he turned into the hallway, that was when I met Kabuto's shocked expression for a split second with my own lifeless gaze, before Sasuke turned his back onto him.
"Which one... which one are you?" He asked, uneasiness in his tone.
"Which one do you think?" I glanced up at Sasuke, seeing him glancing at Kabuto with his Sharingan. Probably showing Kabuto how he had won.
I didn't care at the moment. I was in a daze, in shock, not only from the memories, but from Father's death.
Orochimaru, the one who had raised me.
But I was disturbed at the same time. If Father was truly dead, then wouldn't all my memories instantly come back-- the memories of my childhood that were wiped out from my mind?
Then that must mean one thing. That bastard isn't dead.
"Lord Orochimaru... is dead... No. Its almost as if.."
"I took over all that he was." Sasuke said.
That explains it. Why my memories hadn't come back.
And then he turned back around, continuing to walk down the hallway. I looked to my left, seeing Kabuto's horrified eyes follow us.
"Miyako."
I looked up at his face as he watched me, slight concern in his expression.
"Don't worry. Its over."
"No its not. You didn't kill him. There's a chance that he will-"
"He's dead. He wasn't strong enough to take me down, and he won't be in the future. You of all people should know that."
"Tch. Whatever."
"He never stopped." Sasuke spoke after a few silent moments. I looked up at him questioningly. "He was doing it when I first came here three years ago. I heard your screams. I tried to find you, to help you. But each time I was stopped by Kabuto, or even Orochimaru himself.
After a few failed attempts I stopped, but your screams continued to worsen. Occasionally Shiroryuu's chakra would surface, but only for a split second. I didn't know it was hers back then; I just thought it was your chakra.
That was one of my biggest regrets. Allowing him to do those to you when I could have done something. I was too selfish; I am too selfish."
I gazed up at him, his face twisted in frustration.
"You did something; you tried, and that's all that matters."
"No!" He snapped. "I was too overcome with the need for power from Orochimaru that I allowed him to do that to you. I knew that if I intervened then he wouldn't have-"
"Its fine. I would do the same to you." I tried to assure him. And honestly, I would.
"Its annoying seeing you, a heartless and psycho maniac, being tortured, screaming and crying in pain." He said. I smiled. He finally sounded like himself again.
I rolled my eyes.
"The past is the past. It allows us to learn from our mistakes." I pointed out.
"Which is why I will find Itachi, and kill him."
