XXIII: Betrayal
I made it out of that trap of Kabuto's thanks to the big guy's help. And then I had killed him right after.
I guess I do have some of my merciless ways inside me still kicking after all.
But now here I am, just entering an area on the three tail's lake enveloped by smoke.
Fire.
I could feel it through the heavy smoke screen. Since I couldn't see a thing, I had to rely on other senses to feel him out.
Nothing could block out my ability of feeling out anyone's chakra.
Or maybe I could be using Shiroryuu's power and I didn't even know it.
Kakashi Sensei, a Jonin of the Leaf was burning by this enemy's power.
Power that this smoke user was not supposed to have.
"Binding Smoke Prison!"
I made my way stealthily through the smoke, making sure to hide all evidence of my chakra.
"To think that I would have the honor to personally bring down the famous Kakashi of the Hidden Leaf."
"It's worth surviving..."
There was a loud poof, as I assumed Kakashi had disappeared from the smoke user's sight.
I heard the smoke user gasp as Kakashi spoke again.
"Although not to your extent, I use Shadow Clones too."
My eyes widened when I saw chidori form in his hand.
So he was the one who taught that to Sasuke.
Kakashi raised his hand, about to strike the smoke user with his chidori.
I appeared in front of him and gripped his wrist, tightening my grip on it so his chidori dispersed.
I watched as his eye widened in shock. I brought my free hand to my face, muttering out "Wind Chakra: Disperse", wind radiating off of my body and clearing the smoke away.
Hmm. I should have done that from the start.
"L-lady Miyako!!" The smoke guy gasped out.
But I kept my gaze fixated on Kakashi's.
"Hmph. Kakashi, you have ma-"
I snapped my head to the smoke guys face, equipping my fear inducement jutsu as his eyes widened, standing there petrified in horror. His body begun to tremble as he collapsed onto his knees, before falling on his face.
I turned my eyes back to Kakashi as his eyes wore a confused glint.
"Miyako?"
I gave him a small smile before releasing his wrist.
"Nice to see you again, Kakashi sensei. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to take this burden away from you."
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
But his eyes gradually widened as he noticed the snake rope wound around my waist.
"So. You're with Orochimaru."
I narrowed my eyes at him.
"No."
His eye narrowed in a leery way.
"Then why-"
"I may have been part of Team Orochimaru before, but the circumstances are different now." I said as I turned on my heel, performing a few hand signs as I summoned a water clone.
"I hope you are not an enemy." Kakashi warned.
My water clone picked up the trembling smoke user.
"Don't worry Kakashi. I won't get in your way." I assured him with a warm smile.
His eyes narrowed even further at me.
"I can't let you get away."
"Are you seriously challenging me?" I asked with a cocked brow.
"I'm sorry, Miyako. But I can't let you leave."
I watched as he brought a single hand up to his face.
Geez. I didn't want to have to fight Kakashi.
Before he could finish his jutsu, I simply brought out my hand, as his eye widened slightly.
"Paralyzed Fear." I whispered, making sure to not waver my focus on his eyes.
Kakashi let out a choked gasp as I watched a single blood tear trail down his masked cheek.
"Don't worry, Kakashi. It'll be over in seconds." I assured him.
I sighed, turning on my heel and taking off, my water clone following right behind me with the shocked smoke user.
Sorry, Kakashi. I didn't want to have to do that to you.
-
"Wake up." I said in a bored tone.
The smoke user screamed when I sent a lightning jolt throughout his body.
I didn't waste any time.
"Where is Kabuto?" I asked in a soft and calm tone.
"I-I don't know-" I sent a more focused jolt of lightning through his body as he screamed in agony.
"Where is Kabuto?" I asked again, my tone more harsh.
"P-please.." He gasped. I rolled my eyes. "I-I don't know."
"He gave you my Father's mark. Where. Is. He?" I asked, starting to get more impatient than I was.
"Please, Lady Miyako! I don't know!" He cried out, tears streaming down his face at the pain.
I groaned in annoyance, pulling my hand from his head as I turned around in frustration, crossing my arms.
I was still unstable from Kabuto's entrapment, as I felt Shiroryuu inflict pain upon me at this moment. I winced when I felt a sharp dab in my heart, clutching at my chest.
Stop it. I know you're pissed. But beating me up for what Kabuto did will only make it worse.
You allowed him to do it.
I was losing control. And I didn't want anyone to learn about you. I did what I had to do.
I was being careful, fool. I honored your wishes. You could have let me kill him!
Shiroryuu, shut up. If you killed him, then you not only would have endangered yourself, but my own life. Once the Leaf Shinobi would have discovered us, you especially, they would have taken extreme measures. And think that if it were the Akatsuki, then we would both die!
Isobu is now in trouble because of you. You are now in more danger because you've made it obvious to Kabuto that you've finally betrayed them.
Don't worry. He or Orochimaru can't hurt me. They're too weak.
Something's happening.
Shiroryuu was right.
I looked up into the sky, seeing a huge pillar of blue light, chakra, shooting into the sky.
Yuukimaru.
Kabuto must be there.
I turned around, watching the panting smoke user leaned against a tree.
I narrowed my eyes at him, deciding to try the single style of jutsu that I despised using, particularly because it was my hardest to master, and I still am far from mastering it.
But I could perform something as simple as this.
I performed a few hand signs, before speaking out "Earth Style: Earth Envelopment!"
The ground rose around him, enveloping his body tightly.
"Be a good boy and stay." I said before taking off.
•
I arrived at the cliffside in no time, ignoring the fact that Naruto was interacting with two frogs.
I was busy glaring at Kabuto.
I was suddenly in front of him, grabbing him by the throat and pushing him back until his back slammed into a tree.
He was shocked at first that I had escaped his trap before his expression turned into a grin.
"Don't tell me you actually are planning to betray us now, Miyako? Not after I helped you suppress the Mother Beast?" Kabuto tried to hide his nervousness but I could easily hear it and see it through his eyes.
I released his throat, punching him hard in the gut.
"Yeah, and then you tried to kill me you coward." I spat.
He coughed out a huge amount of blood as I stabbed him through the ribs with my lightning dagger, electrocuting his insides.
I released Kabuto as he crumpled to his knees, trembling at my feet.
How pathetic.
"Go run on back to Father now, pet. I dare you to tell him of my betrayal. And that even after I betrayed him, I will go back to him. Besides, what can he possibly do to me in such a weak state?
But don't be fooled. I'm not staying with you fools for him. I'm doing this for Sasuke. Because if he lays a hand on the Uchiha, I promise, I will kill him." I threatened, before turning on my heel and walking away from him.
Still. I felt his eyes glare into me as a smirk was probably plastered on his face.
