Bruce x Reader #2
(Requested by: holysmokes27)
Scene: Tony knows you both have a crush on each other...
"Crap hole." You muttered as your clumsy elbow swung and knocked over a beaker. "Excuse me? I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you." Bruce Banner turned to you and your cheeks flushed bright red when you realized who had heard you. It was a small secret that you had a crush on Bruce Banner.
I mean, who wouldn't? He's a genius, a perfect gentleman, and he has this face. Oh, it's just one of those faces that you can't help but wanna love.
Your cheeks flushed an even deeper shade of red when you realized what you had said. "It's, umm- it's nothing. S-sorry." Bruce had been working in the lab across from yours for months, and you lived for the days when he would "accidentally" leave the door open.
Pfft, not like I'm a stalker or anything... I prefer the term: Professional Fangirl from Afar.
But seriously, you could stare at his back muscles through his shirts for hours. And no one should get you started on how he ruffles his hair when he's stressed... Ooh, you almost fainted.
You gave a small sigh as Bruce shrugged and walked out. You watched dreamily as he turned and began working again. Then, you remembered about the broken beaker. You leaned over to sweep it up when you heard a knock at your door and a wolf whistle.
"Excuse you, sir-" You started to sass the intruder when you saw it was the one and only Tony Stark, or Iron Man. "Hello, you must be (Y/N), I presume." He leaned against the door jam as he spoke. "Bruce has told me about all about you: how intelligent you are, how beautiful you are, how your eyes sparkle from across the hall-" "TONY!!!" Bruce shouted as he walked across the hall to the doorway.
What? Is he serious?
Bruce turned angrily towards Tony, and you could have sworn you saw a light blush erupt in his cheeks. "What are you doing here? You weren't supposed to be here until five!" Tony shrugged. "I thought I'd get here earlier. It gives you a longer break from work."
Bruce groaned. "Excuse us, (Y/N)." You nodded, slightly grinning. "Sure." Tony gave a small wave goodbye as Bruce dragged him over to his lab and shut the door. You sighed again and went back to sweeping up the broken beaker.
"No, Tony! If you so much as wink at her, I will throttle you!" You threw the remnants in the trash as you tried to listen closer to the argument. "Well, you honestly need some help in the dating department. I thought I just might help you." "Tony, for the last time, I can handle myself!"
The next thing you knew, Tony had scuffled out of Bruce's lab and down the hall towards the restrooms. You could also hear Bruce on the phone with someone, you were pretty sure it was a woman.
"I can't handle it anymore Nat, he keeps getting into my business, and now he's trying to bring you into this."
Silence.
"Great. Thank you, I'll see you later. Bye." You felt your heart drop as he hung up. You were thinking two different thoughts:
He's with someone else? I didn't know. Well, at least he's happy...
And:
I'm going to find her and make sure she doesn't speak to him for the rest of eternity...
Yeah, you scared yourself sometimes. Anyway, you shook your head when you realized that you had been staring at the doorway, where Tony Stark was standing again. "Hello? Earth to (Y/N)?" "Oh, sorry. Yes?" He grinned and stepped in, close to your desk.
"I would like to ask you to see me tomorrow night at seven. Don't you get off work by then?" You nodded. "I've got a reservation for the little Italian restaurant down the street. Please dress nicely, I will see you then." And he just walked out. Then, his head popped back in.
"Oh, and you might want to where some yellow in your outfit." And he was finally out. You breathed a sigh of relief as you turned back to your desk to see that it was nearly four and you had an hour until you could go home. Your thoughts were turned in a different direction though.
I'm really excited about- wait, could it be considered a date?
You realized it probably was.
Sure, it's exciting to go on a date with Tony Stark, and everything, but if I would have preferred for someone else to take me...
You shook your head. You didn't want to think about Bruce. After all, he was probably with that girl on the phone earlier. After all, maybe it would be fun.

*Tony's P.O.V.*
One down, one to go. I had gotten (Y/N) to agree to go, now I was on to the green rage monster. He would thank me later. After all, with how much he word-vomits about her, I could see a sparkle in her eye when she saw him. I know that sparkle. I see it every time I look in the mirror...
Just kidding, but I could practically feel the estrogen pouring off of her. Then again, it was probably because of me. Anyway, I walked into our lab, Bruce and mine, and prepared myself.
"Hey Bruce, I've got a meeting I need to go to right now. But I need to talk to you later tonight, so can we meet at the Italian restaurant down the street from your workplace- thingy. Actually, what would you call it?" Bruce looked up from a file he was reading.
"Well, it should be-" I cut him off. "Thanks buddy. I've gotta go. Oh, be there by seven sharp, don't be late, and make sure you bring your wallet, 'cause you're paying." And with that, I ran out to my "urgent meeting", which was probably a day in the park with Pepper.

*2nd Person P.O.V.* (Of You)
You left work at five and began to get ready. You wore a sunflower yellow sundress, a small, black leather jacket, some black pumps, and a yellow/goldish-colored charm bracelet. You thought you looked pretty good. You then fish tailed your (H/C) hair and then wrapped it up in a bun.
Before you knew it, you were out the door and driving to the restaurant. You entered as you saw how beautiful the inside was. It had a rustic feel to it, and it was mesmerizing with the pixie lights strung up and down the walls.
When you got to the main desk, a slightly plump woman greeted you with a warm smile and a small Italian accent. "How may I help you, bella donna?" You grinned shyly as you searched the room for Mr. Stark's face. You were about five minutes early, so you guessed it was okay if he wasn't there yet.
"I am a part of the, uh- Tony Stark, party." She smiled even wider at you. "Certamente, of course. Follow Adriana." A younger, thinner version of the woman led you to a table in the back. You quickly realized it was the balcony that over looked the city lights below. She sat you down and asked if you wanted to order your drink.
"No thank you, I'll wait." Five minutes later, it wasn't Tony that showed up, but Bruce Banner. You quickly turned, wondering why he was there, of all places. He was looking around too, like he was supposed to meet someone here as well.
When he caught your eye, he did a double take before he spoke to the woman. Adriana quickly brought him over to your table and he declined a drink as well. You still couldn't get over why he was there.
"Hello. Tony told me to meet him here, and they say this table was his reservation. So, no offense, but why are you sitting at this table?"
Gee, that was subtle.
"I was about to ask you the same thing. Tony invited me as well, right before he left my lab." You replied as you tried your very hardest to keep your cool. After all, you were face-to-face with your crush and he was actually having a real conversation with you.
Suddenly, both of your phones buzzed: his showing Tony's number and yours was unknown. But they both read the same thing.
Having fun? I can't make it, so both of you have some time to yourselves. Enjoy it. ;) - Tony
Bruce sighed as you just giggled. You were finally living out your dream: a date with Bruce Banner. He smiled slightly as he looked up at you. "Well, we might as well do what he said. Enjoy it. Can we order our drinks, please?" Bruce called over Adriana.
You both began deep discussions about your most recent projects at work and small talk about family and friends. By the end of the night, you were both laughing because you accidentally stuck your straw in your nose while trying to take a sip.
At first, you were mortified, but Bruce began laughing as he called for some ice. "Are you okay? I hope that didn't ruin your adorable nose." His eyes widened and he blushed as he realized what he said.
Finally! I knew I wasn't the only person who does that!
"Well, hopefully my adorable nose will stop throbbing." You both began laughing again. He paid the bill as you both left and then he walked you out to your car.
Chivalry always gets me...
As you were about to drive away, he stopped you and tapped your window. You rolled it down as he smiled down at you. "I had a lot of fun tonight, (Y/N)." You beamed back up at him. "Me too." Before you knew it, you had reached up and pulled him into a kiss. It was short and sweet, but it sent shivers down your spine.
You pulled back and he stared at you in awe. On the inside, you were screaming.
Why did I do that? Am I insane? Crap, did I have bad breath? Am I a bad kisser?
"So, how about Friday at the movies?" He asked, stuffing his hands in his pant pockets. You nodded, nearing hysterical. "S-sure. Call me?" He nodded as you scribbled your number and handed it to him. "Goodnight, Miss (Y/L/N)." He grinned. "Goodnight, Doctor Banner."
And you drove back home, nearly crashing from your giggling euphoria.
