You tell anyone

"JESUS, CARL! HURRY UP!" I shouted, knocking on the bathroom door.

"I GOTTA LOOK GOOD!" He said in a snobby tone.

"YOU ALWAYS LOOK GOOD! Now hurry!" I shouted. I heard him chuckle and open the door. He hugged me, but I pushed him off of me.

"God, chill with the cologne." I chuckled.

"Oops." He chuckled and took his shirt off, throwing it on my floor. I rolled my eyes, brushing my hair as he out on a new shirt that didn't smell like a middle school locker room. (A/N-My middle school's boys seriously needed to chill with the body spray omfg, reason number 483683494 why I hated middle school)

"This feels so weird, doesn't it?" I asked. He nodded.

"I'm not used to dressing up for parties." He laughed. He was wearing jeans, a grey shirt and a red un-buttoned flannel. I wore my dress and we went to Dianne's house for the party. We met up with carol, who was carrying a tray of cookies.

"This just feel too weird." I said, looking at everyone in the house dressed up, laughing, eating, drinking...music was playing and there was working electricity.

I held onto carls hand as we walked inside.

Carl met up with Jessie's oldest son and the other boy that was our age. I walked around until I found rick.

"I've always hated parties," I said, adjusting the back sleeves on my dress. He laughed. I looked up at him. He was wearing a white button up shirt and jeans. He was holding a drink.

"Look good." I nodded, trying to stand on one foot as I took off my heels. He nodded.

"You too." He said as I got back onto two feet with my shoes in my hand.

"Thanks." I said. I looked at my bare feet.

"God, I've always hated heels too." I said, earning a chuckle from rick.

I saw Jessie walk up to us. I smiled at her and she smiled back. She noticed my bare feet and laughed.

"Hun, you didn't have to wear heels." She chuckled.

"Got it." I smiled, laughing.

"Mom! There's no more cookies!" Sam whined, running up to us.

"Well, Sam, I happen to know the cookie maker. Real good friend of mine. Come with me and I'm sure she'll make a whole batch of cookies just for you." I smiled, holding my hand out. He giggled and took it.

"Wait! She doesn't have a stamp!" He told his mom. She looked at me and I shrugged, holding the back of my palm out. He took out a stamp and stamped a red A on my hand, and began running off. I turned around and tossed my shoes on the ground, seeing rick and Jessie chuckling at us.

We went down to the basement.

"You go and ask carol. I'll be right here." I said. He nodded and turned a corner.

"What are you doing?" He asked. I looked over and noticed carol putting guns in a bag. She turned around and back up Sam until he was against the window.

"Why are you here?" She asked.

"I came down to ask for more cookies, but you came here so-so I followed you." He said. "Why we're you taking the guns?"

"You tell anybody what you just saw, and you won't wake up in your house in the morning. You wanna know where you'll wake up? You'll wake up outside of the gates, far away from here. And you won't be able to move because you'll be tied up to a tree. And you're gonna scream, but nobody will hear you. Well, something will hear you. Then all the monsters will come and rip the flesh off of your bones all while you are still alive. And your mommy and daddy will never know what happened to you because nobody will ever find you. Now, I see two options here. Snitch, or not tell anybody about what just happened and you can have all the cookies you want. I suggest the second answer." She said. Honestly, I was frightened myself. I turned the corner. (A/N- I felt traumatized when I heard carol say that omg cookie man, more like Cookie Monster jeez.)

"Sam." I said. Carol quickly turned her head and stood up straight. I looked at carol with a disgusted and frightened look on my face.

"C'mon, bud." I said. He ran up to me and hugged me. "Let's get away from carol. I'm sure we can find something else to eat." I told him, walking away. Once we got up the stairs, he ran off and I did too.

I quickly ran to Carl, who was talking to his friends.

"No, no! That was clearly a tie!" He said, laughing. I ran up to him.

"Carl, babe. Carl." I said, catching my breath. He put an arm on my arm and I looked at him.

"What's wrong?" He asked. I looked at his friends(the guy our age and the older guy, who I've learnt is Mikey, the younger one, and Ron, the older on, and Jessie's son.) and took his hand, pulling him away from the crowd.

I told him everything that carol said. He looked shocked.

"The hell?" He asked. "To sam?!" He asked. I nodded. He sighed, thinking.

"Don't think about it, don't mention it. Don't put yourself or Sam in danger, okay?" He asked. I nodded, playing with the ring on my finger. He gently put a hand on my cheek and looked into my eyes, kissing me gently.

"Hey, I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I smiled.

"Hey, Melissa. What's your favourite meal?" A woman asked. I looked at her.

"What?" I asked.

"What's your favourite meal? So I can cook it for you sometime. I'm just worried about getting it wrong." She laughed. I looked at her.

"That's what you're worried about?!" I yelled. "Getting a damn meal wrong?!" I added. Everyone around me went silent. Carl walked up to me, but I walked away.

"Melissa!" He shouted, running up to me.

"Sorry it's just-I-I'm-I don't know..." I sighed, putting my hands on my forehead.

"It's okay. Don't stress." He said. I nodded, calming down. I walked back inside and tried to enjoy the party.

"God, I thought that would never end." I sighed, plopping down on carls bed.

"Me neither." He said, taking off his shirt.

"I need pyjamas or something cause I'm not sleeping in this dress." I chuckled. He looked through his closet and tossed me a pair of my jogging pants (basically leggings but not really) and one of his shirts. I walked into the corner and put on my pants. I took off my dress and then put carls shirt on.

"Thanks." I smiled. He laid down on his bed and moved over so I had some room. I walked over to the bed, but tripped over carls bag.

"How's your face?" He asked from the edge of the bed, laughing. I looked at him, playfully glaring as I stood up.

"Depends. Does my nose look broken to you or is it just bleeding?" I asked. He walked over to me and looked at me.

"Damn, you're so clumsy." He laughed, helping me walk through the dark room.

"Oh yea, says the person who slipped into a coma from falling down the stairs." I said. He laughed and rolled his eyes.

We walked downstairs and we saw Rick.

"Kids, what was that noise?" He asked. Carl laughed and took his hand away from my bleeding nose. Rick laughed and shook his head, grabbing a towel and putting it over my nose.

"How'd you do this, now." He asked.

"I was walking and I tripped over carls backpack." I chuckled. He smiled and shook his head. "And then he laughs." I said. I looked over at Carl, who was trying to keep quiet from laughing so much.

"It was funny!" He said, defending himself.

"Yea, yea. I just wanna sleep." I said. Rick stopped the bleeding in my nose and sent us back upstairs. I plopped onto the bed and fell asleep quickly, snuggled into Carl.

"Oh my god I've never thought I'd miss pancakes so much." I said while flipping a pancake in the pan. Carl laughed and looked in the fridge and took out syrup and butter.

This actually feels normal. It feels like a normal Sunday morning, making pancakes in our pyjamas and laughing while the sun shone, corny, I know, but I really like this.

"How's your nose?" He asked, smirking while putting plates on the table.

"Fine, no thanks to you." I playfully glared at him while I brought the pancakes over to the table.

"Hey, laughter is the best medicine." He defended. I rolled my eyes and chuckled.

"My mom used to do this on Sundays." He stopped smiling, looking at the pancakes. "Every Sunday morning we would all gather at the table and eat pancakes. They were horrible. She knew that. But I guess she just wanted to be a family that had pancakes on Sundays." He shrugged.

"My...my mom-when I was only four-my mom used to wake me and my dad up and she would have eggs and bacon and pancakes and fruit on the table for us when we got downstairs. She always told us we needed a full stomach to be in the woods. Me and dad always went walking on trails in the woods. I couldn't hunt at that age, so I guess my dad wanted me to know the woods better than anyone else, so he used to tell me how to track and I actually understood. It was fun...and now it'll never happen again... Everything's gone. But we do have each other. We're married, Carl." I smiled. "Our moms are probably watching us now and they're probably so happy. My mom not so much, but Lori, she wanted this and you know it. She won't want you upset. Come on, smile!" I whined playfully. He chuckled and hugged me.

"Hey, kids. Woah, pancakes." He smiled, sitting down at the table. I laughed and sat down, beside rick and across from Carl.

"They any good? I haven't cooked pancakes in years." I asked.

"They're delicious." Carl said, basically stuffing his face. I reached across the table and hit his arm.

"Slow down." I laughed, taking a bite out of my pancakes.

Oh shit, dad never even knew I stayed here last night. For all he knows I'm tied up in a basement somewhere. Be right back." I said, rushing out the door. Carl laughed, mumbling a 'bye' while taking another bite out of his pancakes.

Carls pov

"Shit, I forgot about Trevor." I mumbled, standing up.

"Carl, relax. She's right next door. I see her walking into her house now." He said, looking out the window. I sighed and nodded, making sure she made it in the house before sitting back down.

"Protect her, son... Don't make the same mistake I made with your mother..." He mumbled, looking down at his food. I really don't want to loose Melissa. Ever.

"Hey, guys, I'm-" Melissa walked in, but stopped talking at our sad faces because of us remembering mom. "You guys okay?" She asked. I nodded and stood up, grabbing her hand and taking her to my room.

"Baby, what's wro-" I cut her off by kissing her. She put her hands on my head, taking off my hat. She moved her hands to my neck, and I felt her wedding ring against my skin.

I moved one of my hands to hers, holding it. I smiled into the kiss and began walking, backing her softly into the wall. She chuckled slightly.

She jumped up and wrapped her legs around my waist.

"I love you." She whispered into the kiss.

"I love you too." I breathed, still basically making out with her. She threw my hat on the ground and used both hands to play with my hair.

"Hey, kids. What's up?" I heard someone say. "Woah, sorry." I heard Daryl chuckle. Melissa broke the kiss and stood back on her feet, fixing her hair and looking at her dad.

"Heyyy, dad..." She said. I turned around and looked at Daryl.

"Just gonna tell you that I'm going on a run with Rick and carol, but I see you two seemed a little occupied." Daryl laughed at himself and walked out.

"Carol... Sam..." She mumbled.

"Look, he's safe with Jessie, so don't worry." I said. She nodded.

Melissa's pov

I looked at his messy hair and laughed. I began to fix the mess, when we heard Judith's cries. I rushed into ricks room and picked her up from her crib.

"Hey, baby." I said in a baby voice. She giggled once she saw me. I brought her out of the room, bouncing her on my hip.

"Is someone hungry?" I asked her. She clapped her hands and giggled. "I'm gonna take that as a yes." I said. I walked into the kitchen, already seeing Carl with some food for Judith.

"Why, thank you, my dear." I said and chuckled. He smiled and walked over to us, taking Judith from my arms.

"Kids, you in here?" I heard michone shout from the front door.

"No!" I yelled. She walked into the kitchen and walked to the fridge.

"Come on in." I said, clearing up the table.

"Pancakes?" She almost shouted, then took the plate from my hands, eating the three leftover pancakes. I rolled my eyes and smiled, putting the plates in the sink.

"Pancakes." I shrugged. "They any good?" I asked. She nodded as she took another bite. I heard yelling from outside. We all walked to the gates and saw Glenn and Diana's(idk how you spell it) son in each others faces.

"Why'd you even let them in here in the first place?" The guy asked.

"Because we actually know what we're doing." Glenn said. And with that, the guy turned around and swung a fist at Glenn. Glenn dodged it and clocked the guy in the nose.(you go Glenn coco) Another man went charging, but dad literally came out of nowhere and tackled him to the ground like a football dummy. Dad out his hands around the dudes neck, and Rick, who also seemed to just magically appear, came and yanked dad off of the man. Enid walked up and stood beside Carl.

"You don't like me, do you?" Carl asked in more of a statement than a question. Enid looked at Carl, then the ground and walked away. I put a hand on his shoulder and smiled kindly.

I saw Glenn get up in the mans face again. I chuckled.

"You go Glenn coco." I mumbled, suddenly remembering a movie I watched with Kayla at the beginning of seventh grade. Carl looked at me, confused.

"It's a movie, idiot." I joked. He nodded and walked off. I glanced at him as he walked away. His head was down and his mood suddenly changed from happy to depressed in a couple seconds. I rocked Judith in my arms and let her play with my growing hair.

"Maybe I'll go ask Jessie for a haircut." I told Judith in a baby voice. She giggled in response.

"Hey, dad?" I asked. He turned around and looked at me. I looked to the ground.
"I-uh...say someone-a really close friend-seriously threatened another close friend. And I saw it happen, but I couldn't tell anyone because I would be putting both of this friends in danger. What would I do?" I asked, hoping for a response.

"Go ask carol. I'm not good with these things. Sorry sweetheart." He said and kissed my head. I sighed and nodded, walking back to carls house. I walked through the door and put a sleeping Judith in her crib. I walked back downstairs and sat down, next to my dad- who was laying down on the couch for some reason- and laid my head near his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and I closed my eyes.
