All for what

I walk into Michonne's room, finding her laying out her police uniform out on her bed.

"Hey, Michonne?" I ask. She turns around and looks at me.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"I haven't seen Sasha come out of that tower. I haven't seen her at all lately, Actually." I started.

"And?" She asked, confused.

"And I think I saw her past the walls." I told her. She picked up her gun and we ran outside. We jumped the wall and tried to follow her.

"Your father ever teach you to track?" She asked. I nodded. "Good." She said as we began jogging.

"Wait." I stopped her. I walked over to a walker with a fresh bullet hole in its head.

"She's cleared through here already." She said. I nodded.

"Follow me." I said as we ran, following the bodies of walkers that have bullets in their heads.

We ran for a bit until we saw Sasha shooting at a horde of walkers. I took my gun out and Michonne did the same.

"Sasha!" I yelled quietly. She turned around and sighed. She then looked back at the walkers and began shooting again. We ran up to her and helped her shoot.

"There's too many. We need to go." I said. Sasha chuckled.

"You two have to go. I have to stay." She said, shooting another. I groaned as we shot the final walker.

"What the hell?" Michonne said. I zoned out on their conversation and looked over at a big tree in the distance. I swear I saw something inside it. If it's an animal then I can bring it back.

"I told Noah he would make it! You just don't get it! You don't know!" Sasha yelled. I took my crossbow and held it up as I quietly walked over to the big tree.

I heard hushed voices and my guard immediately went back up. I got to the front of the tree, seeing Carl and Enid inside, their hands so close to touching, and Enid finishing whispering something to Carl.

They both looked at me and I put my crossbow back on my back. I looked at their hands, which were now moved apart from each other, and back up at Carl. I wouldn't be so upset if it wasn't for the fact that Carl said he was helping out his dad today. He lied to me and he's freaking in a tree with Enid, their bodies close.

I looked down at my ring and back up at Carl. I turned around and began to walk away, nobody saying anything.

"Melissa!" I heard Carl yell. I walked backwards to face him. He stopped rushing towards me when he realized I wasn't stopping for him.

I didn't want to say anything and straight up accuse my husband of cheating, but I also didn't say anything because I know he kinda likes her.

I turned back around and walked back to Michonne, who was walking back to Alexandria.

"You alright?" She asked. I looked back at Carl and Enid, then back ahead.

"I'm fine.." I lied. I've been saying that a lot lately. And frankly, I'm not fine.

We got back into the village, and I looked around at all the people.

Smiling faces, people laughing, kids running around and playing, people walking their dogs, elders sitting on their porches together.

I got overwhelmed by the sight and decided to look at the ground.

I remembered the prison. Hershel, Merle, Beth, Lori. I remembered everyone. My birthday, when they had the surprise party for me. I remembered Kayla. Her smile.

I remembered the time at the CDC. The dinner. Everyone was laughing, talking, eating, having fun.

I remember Hershel's farm. Getting in trouble at the barn with Carl. I remember Sophia.

"Melissa?" I heard a voice call. Everything was getting blurry, and my head was spinning.

But, I remembered the CDC blowing up. Hershel's farm bursting into flames. Sophia dying. Hershel dying. The prison sickness, killing people. I remembered the prison being taken down by the governor. I remember being split up from the group. I remember Beth dying. Lori. Merle. Kayla. Sophia. Patrick. Everyone.

The world started spinning as voices seemed to be getting farther away and peoples footsteps were echoing.

"Oh my god, is she okay?" I heard a voice say. I moved my eyes and I saw Carl running up to me through my blurry vision. He put his hands on my arms.

And then everything went black.

I woke up on a bed. I sat up and immediately recognized this as carls room. I had a killer headache, but it seemed to be going away the longer I'm up.

I swung my feet over the side of the bed and stood up. I walked downstairs and heard carols voice.

"Pete is hitting Jessie." She said. "Sam asked me for a gun so he could protect his mom."

"Well what are we gonna do?" Rick asked. I quietly walked out of the house.

"We can execute him." Is all I heard rick say before I walked away.

I really want my dad, but he's gone out in the woods with Aaron again. Aaron gave dad the job of recruiter. I'm worried for him, though. In the woods all the time and all. I haven't seen him in about two or three days...

"Melissa!" Carl ran up to me and hugged me. I didn't hug back for a while, and when I did, I loosely wrapped my arms around his waist.

Does he forget about him lying to me to sneak off with Enid? They were holding hands inside a fucking tree for crying out loud.

"What happened when I passed out?" I asked.

"I don't know. You just sort of dropped as soon as I got to you. You looked delirious. I caught you before you fell and brought you back to my room." He told me. "Nobody knew what was wrong with you. Pete came and checked on you and-"

"Pete? As in Jessie's husband?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yea, why?" He asked. I looked over his shoulder at Jessie's house and shook my head.

"No reason." I told him. "Hey, I gotta go." I said and hurried over to Jessie's house. I heard Pete yelling and I heard Jessie's faint whimpers. I rushed over and knocked on the door.

Pete stumbled to the door and opened it, his beer bottle crashing on the ground and he did so, making me jump.

"What?" He asked.

"Can I speak to Jessie for a minute?" I asked politely.

"She's, uh-busy." He rushed.

"O-okay. Well, can I see Sam?" I asked.

"No." He said and shut the door in my face. I walked up to the window and saw Jessie falling to the ground. I back up.

I gotta tell rick. He's gotta kill him.

I ran to ricks house and knocked on the door quickly. He opened the door, causing me to almost punch him in the face. I stopped myself before it happened, though.

"Mel? Mel, what's wrong?" Rick asked, putting his hands on my shoulders.

"I saw Pete hit Jessie. I saw it, rick. You have to kill him. You have to do something!" I said. He nodded.

I came to the realization that just yesterday, I was watching Noah and Aiden get ripped apart, and now I'm begging someone to kill someone.

"Don't kill him. Please, just...just do something.

"I'll go talk to Jessie, you gotta calm down, okay?" He asked, I nodded.

"I just...I know what it feels like, ya'know?" I asked, "I mean, not my husband hitting me, Carl would never do that...but my mother... Don't say anything, but dad's parents hit him and Merle, too... We know what it's like. It's not fun." I stated the obvious. He nodded and walked out of the house.

I really want to go to Carl right now. Maybe I'm worked up over nothing. I mean, isn't Enid dating Ron?

I walked over to Carl and hugged him.

"Hey." He chuckled.

"Hi." I said. He chuckled again and I smiled.

"I promise nothing happened with Enid. The walkers came and we would both be dead if we didn't see the tree. Hey, that rhymed." He chuckled. I laughed.

"I love you." I said and rested my chin on his chest and looked up at him.

"I love you too." He said and kissed my nose. I chuckled, when we heard the sound of glass smashing. We looked behind Carl and saw rick and Pete fighting on the road. Rick has blood all over him. Everyone ran up and watched.

"Rick! Stop!" I said and tried to push him off, but Pete's hand connected with my lip, and I stumbled back, tripping over my feet and falling to the ground. Carl made sure I was okay before rushing up to his dad.

"Dad! Get off!" He said, but rick pushed Carl away, causing Carl to fall right beside me. I looked over and saw the Alexandria's away from our group. Sam was hugging carol, and Jessie was crying, trying to yell at them to stop.

Pete got out from under rick and he was now hovering over rick, putting his hands around his neck. I covered my mouth seeing punch after punch.

Jessie ran up to them and tried to pull Pete off of rick, but Pete punched Jessie in the face, making her fall backwards.

"We're gonna get kicked out." I whispered to Carl. He looked over at me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders, bringing me closer to him.

"Rick! Enough!" Deanna yelled. Once rick made sure Pete couldn't fight anymore(he was lying on the ground)he whispered something in his ear and pushed him away from him.

Some of the Alexandria's began to walk to rick, but rick pulled out his gun.

"No, no, rick, stop-" Carl covered my mouth gently.

"Shh. It's gonna be okay, shh." He whispered. I nodded and watched. Carl took his hand away from my mouth and kissed my head.

"What, you gonna kick me out?" He asked, waving his gun around. I've never seen rick go like this before. He looks like a maniac just waving his gun around in his bloodied hand with his face all full of blood and scratches after just almost killing a man.

He said this long speech that I only heard bits and pieces of because Carl had one hand over my ear and my other ear was against his chest. He kissed my head in an effort to calm me down.

Rick was in the middle of laughing and talking like a sycopath, when Michonne walked up and knocked rick out.

Everyone looked at Michonne, shocked about what she just did. I could tell Michonne didn't care about the looks she was given.

"It had to be done." I said, walking over to an unconscious rick and taking the gun from his hands. I stood back up. "It had to be done. He's hit his breaking point. I'm just surprised it took this long." I said, wiping the blood from my lip.

"Pete deserved what we got. He deserved worse than what he got. Nobody notices that now, but I do. You will notice soon, too. Trust me." I said and looked up at all of the Alexandrian's shocked and scared faces.

"He'd be dead if we were out there." I said and took a step up to the Alexandrian's. They slowly backed away, and I laughed.

"Calm down. Everyone who knows what Pete did knows he deserves it, right? Rick had every right to do what he did. Deanna? You can't think Pete didn't deserve this! You know what he does!" I yelled. "This place is sick! You have no idea what any of us have been through! What any of us have seen! We watched people we loved die right in front of us! Hell, we even had to shoot them in the head after so they wouldn't turn! You think you're so safe because you have some walls up?! You just let people in, not realizing that people are worse than what's out there! People killed the people we love! People tortured us! Tried murdering us! Starved us! Kidnapped us! Abandoned us! And for what? The satisfaction to say they did it? To know that the now have the power to do these things?" I ranted.

"So call me dangerous. Call rick dangerous. Call each and every one of us dangerous. You have no clue what we've been through to get here! You should be happy you have someone who actually knows for when this place goes down! Because, trust me; it will." I said and walked off.

Damn.
