6: Drawing Circles

Kageyama stared at the teacher, the man endlessly yammered on like a drone, his monotone voice barely made it to the ears of the setter. His hand moved on its own, scratching the characters in the corner if the blank page. He lifted his pencil from the paper. He wasn't looking at what he was doing, yet he placed the lead back down and drew circles around the two words.

In his mind, the raven wasn't sitting in the dull classroom of his freshmen math class; he was surrounded by the white light and smell of disinfectant. The pale curtains sauntered in spring breeze, his cheeks dyed red by affection.

"I'm sorry," he repeated like a broken record.

The girl sighed, "I thought I told you, it's fine." Her smile carried the warmth of the sun's rays on a summer day, her eyes were stars on a crisp night. His heart pounded.

She had a bandage wrapped around the head and another one on her nose. Just looking at her sent guilt pulsing through him, even so, he was grateful he could be with her now. The girl's head tilted at him slightly from where she lay on the table, she smiled and he felt his cheeks burn, his heart skipped beats like nothing mattered.

Then the bell rung, bringing him back to the present. Chairs scraped against the tiles, and suddenly Tsukishima was behind him. "[Name] [Surname]? I had no idea the king had a crush," the blond mused as he stalked away.

Thinking back, Kageyama Tobio didn't know when he first started loving you, all he knew is that he was certain of it from that day in the infirmary onward. Too bad you hit your head so hard when you had fallen over, otherwise you might remember how he wrapped bandages around your head with gentle hands. How his eyes locked with yours, full of concern. How his lips pecked the tip of your nose before he placed a bandage on it.

He looked down at his paper and muttered a curse under his breath. Your name and the circles had been drawn too many times to be erased. They weren't going anywhere; they'd just stick around in his math book. Permanently.

(a/n i constantly mix up tsukiyama (tg) and tsukishima's (hq!!) names so until like 2 days ago it said tsukiyama and oops. ps i probably wrote it somewhere else too)
