Chapter Twenty.
Alaynah's POV:
I'm listening to a gorgeous song and next thing you know, the love of my life calls me gorgeous.
I couldn't help it.
First it's a sunset pink, then my face blows up red.
Neither of us talk. I think he's to amazed that he said something sweet - Because he's always so rude to people at school - and I'm amazed that he actually called me gorgeous. I've never gotten a compliment. Never.
The tension builds and it doesn't help that the traffic is slow.
Luckily, Tyler brakes the still air. Not with something I wanted to hear though.
"We're almost there, it's just around the corner from the bridge."
"Bridge?" I look out of the front windscreen, trying to see over cars.
"Yeah, the main bridge. Are you okay?" Tyler's words stumble around in my head.
I start to freak out. My breathing gets heavier and it starts to get really hot, my bottom lip starts to tremble.
"Like.. The bridge.. Six years ago.. Death.." That's all I manage to spit out.
"Alaynah, are you okay? Do you want me to pull over?"
I think my eye starts twitching, my stomach churns. I need to get out of this car.
"What death?" Tyler pauses for a few seconds, observing me?
"Alaynah, you're shaking!" Tyler gets out of the car and comes around to my side of the car.
My vision starts to blur, a gust of cold air hits my back. I start to shiver, let alone i'm shaking. So I probably look like i'm having a seizure, but I really don't care at the moment. I feel warm arms wrap around me. I feel safe, but i'm still cold.
Everything after that was a blur.
