Chapter 9: Commanders
Barriss' POV
She thought he'd gone insane, like was he forgetting that he died on Malachor in the explosion. "Lord Vader, with all due respect, Darth Maul died on Mala.." she started but was interrupted by his deep voice, "SILENCE! I have no doubt that if the Torguta survived, then Maul definitely lives"
Ahsoka's POV
The back up haven wasn't exactly in the Outer-Rim but was close enough to be considered part of it, Takodana. The Rebels base was hidden in the jungle, far from any villages or cities. Phoenix Squadron had come to Takodana because one of the smaller rebel cells, Shadow Squadron had offered their base as a back up to which Ahsoka and Commander Sato gratefully accepted. The hangers were hidden among trees, the base was well underground and there were turrets hidden throughout the nearby lakes, it was the perfect base. shame not every cell can have a base like this Ahsoka thought to herself as she made her way to the control room. "Are you sure the Empire didn't follow you to Takodana?" The transparent hologram of Bail Organa asked Commander Sato who stood at attention, "I am sure of it, but if they did, we have the fleet on standby" Sato replied, "Very good then. Ah Ahsoka, wait AHSOKA?!" Bail said confused, jaw dropped open. "It's good to see you to Senator" she said giggling to herself. "How did you... You know what, never mind, I'm just glad you're back old friend, we'd thought we'd lost you" he said, "well here I am" she said.
"With all that out of the way, I'd like you to meet Shadow Squadron's commander, Lux Bonteri" Bail Organa said as Lux walked into view.
Thrawn's POV
He couldn't believe he had just bested Vader, the Dark Lord had thought that Thrawn had let them get away but he didn't. No one ever escapes me Thrawn thought as he made his way across the bridge and turned to the officer closest to him. "Set course for Takodana, I want to be there yesterday!" He barked. "Admiral, with all due respect, how do you even know that they're there. We have no indication that points to that" the officer said obviously nervous at the fact that he just talked back to his superior. "Before I was ordered to this ship, I was keeping a watch on the rebel cell on Takodana and I picked up transmissions to a Commander Sato but didn't know the planet. Now I know it was this planet, now, WHY ARE WE NOT IN HYPERSPACE" Thrawn yelled
Lux Bonteri's POV
Lux walked up next to the hologram of Bail Organa and took of his helmet to see a Human male and a female Torguta, a ver familiar Torguta. As the hologram of the senator faded he begun to realise who it was, "Ahsoka!?" He said gobsmacked. "Fancy seeing you here Lux" she said smiling. "Well I was once a rebel, why not do it again" he said making them both laugh. "I haven't seen you since that day on Coruscant" he said, "you mean the one where you, Obi Wan and Anakin were chasing me" she said looking at him with an eyebrow raised, "to be fair, you were being played by a Separatist spy." Lux argued back, "fair point" she said.
Ahsoka had definitely grown over the years since he had last seen her. Ahsoka's headtails had grown, she had become taller, her facial paint had changed, he wasn't sure if that was part of growing up or of she had changed it on purpose. But most of all, she had become more beautiful, which was something he never thought she could do.
Ahsoka's POV
She admitted that it was a surprise to see Lux here but she was kind of happy, she had always had a thing for him during the Clone Wars and that he had grown up to become quite the man, she was kind of liking it. He had grown a bit taller than she remembered, he had clearly become more handsome. Maybe it's a good thing I'm not a Jedi any longer.
