All you could hear was the blowing of the air conditioner as you drove to Ian's apartment. He was staying a few blocks away from George's apartment for the week. George used to hate you two being friends because he would become so jealous but you reassured him over and over, you could never find Ian as more than a friend. Fucking prick, I can't be friends with Ian but running behind my back is nothing..
Knuckles white as you drove, your head raced and you could feel a headache coming on. This as the longest drive ever for just a few blocks.
••••••••••••••
You stepped up to the door and knocked rapidly. There were few moments of silence till you heard footsteps and the door swung open to Ian's dumb smile.
"Yay what's up? Where's the retard?" He was such an asshole towards people but that was just him, normal Ian.
"At his apartment." It was quiet for a few seconds, "but can I come in and talk to you about something?"
Ian nodded and moved aside for you. Walking in you smelt a fresh scent and it calmed your nerves a bit, George's apartment always smelt stale of cigarettes smoke and this was a fresh change. Ian shut the door and followed behind you and then plopped down on his couch. "So..?" He threw his hand out in motion for you to talk.
You sighed and sat down. "I think George is seeing someone behind my back. I saw a message from a girl today." You pulled your phone from the pocket of your sweats and pulled the picture up, showing it to Ian. He leaned forward and read it with big eyes.
"Well shit dude.." Ian spoke a bit softly and then took a deep breath. "I saw him two weeks ago with some girl. Some blonde chick that he claimed was a artist he was working with for his music. Two days after I saw him texting a girl with that same contact name." Ian's eyes showed a pool of sympathy. You felt your stomach sink and you set the phone down.
"I swear to god, you aren't joking are you?" Your eyes desperately watched Ian as he shook his head no and you could felt he tears swelling up. You stood up and clenched your fists. "That asshole!" You could feel your anger boil more and more.
Ian stood and placed a hand on your shoulder, "Listen, I'm here for you and I support you with whatever direction you take this situation in, but do not get angry. Do not do something stupid you will regret." His voice was so soothing and it made your head somewhat clearer. Ian gave a weak smile and took you into a hug.
"Ok." You hugged Ian back and felt your body just let go. You were hit with a sudden wave of tiredness and had no clue what you were going to say to George. You needed a plan but what was the right thing to say?
"And if anything happens call me, or if you need to stay somewhere call me." Ian squeezed you and released his arms from you and took your hand as he walked you to the door. "Go home and don't say anything yet. When he leaves call me and I'll come over, I have a plan." He gave your hand one last squeeze before you left.
"Thanks.." You gave him a soft smile and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. "You the real mvp." Ian chuckled and you cracked a bigger smile.
"Fucking idiot, go home." He pushed you gently and you turned on your heel and left. You felt somewhat better with Ian's pep talk and added information but your mind went back to how you would approach this with his plan? What the fuck was Ian planning? How would he approach George about it? You remembered your headache when you felt a sharp pain on your temple. You winced and rubbed it gently and pulled out your keys. You got into the driver side of the car and thought about Ian. He was freaking adorable and so kind, but you and George had been through so much and were coming up on your two years. Yet that hasn't stopped him apparently...
Letting out a deep sigh you started your car and pulled out and headed home with dread on your shoulders.
