Chapter 10
It was a normal day. The sun was out and shining and the sky was clear of the clouds. It was the optimal day for relaxing and that's precisely why the superior soldiers in the Survey Corps all agreed to let the soldiers all have a day off. Most of them were goofing off in their rooms. Armin was helping Hanji run some experiments. Mikasa was working out somewhere. Eren was outside sitting under a tree and reading a book that Captain Levi had lent him.
"How are you liking it?"
Eren turned his attention to his Captain who was walking towards him. Eren smiled and pat the spot on the ground next to him. Levi took his seat next to Eren and looked at the page in the book where Eren had left off.
"Oh you are at my favorite part," Levi says.
"Really?"
Levi nods.
"Hey you don't look comfortable just sitting up against the tree like that," Eren says.
"Well I am not going to lay down on the dirty grass."
"I didn't say you had to lay down on the grass," Eren said as he marked his spot in the book and set it down.
"Then what are you saying?"
Eren scooted a little bit further away from Levi and patted his lap. Levi's eyes widened at Eren's suggestion.
"Why do you seem to not want to do this? We are a couple."
Levi then nodded and layed down so that his head was on Eren's lap. Eren started stroking Levi's hair and looked out across the open field where some recruits were running around. Levi was looking in the same direction when a thought came to his mind.
"Eren when do you think we will be able to leave these walls?"
"I don't know...I mean it depends on how close we are to finishing off the titans."
"Well have you ever thought about settling down and getting married? Maybe even possibly starting a family?"
"No actually I haven't."
Levi sat up and looked at Eren. He took something out of his pocket and handed it to Eren.
"I've had this for a little bit and I want you to have it."
"What is it?"
"Open it."
Eren opened up the small box and saw a small ring with a diamond on it. His eyes at first showed confusion as to what it was. He looked at Levi and saw a smile on his face. That simple smile confirmed what was going on. Eren looked back at the ring and started crying. He brought his hand up to his mouth to cover the soft sobs.
"L-Levi..."
"Eren Jaeger will you marry me?" Levi asked taking Eren's hand in his.
"Yes I will."
Levi took the ring out of the box and slipped it on to Eren's finger. Eren then tackled Levi to the ground. Levi stared up at his fiance and smirked.
"We are in public Eren. There are many people who will see this if we stay here."
"Then why don't we continue this in your bedroom."
Eren smirked himself as Levi gave his permission. The two stood up and walked inside the castle and to Levi's room to continue their shenanigans.
