Chapter 4
"I don't think we're the only ones who came to school tonight."
Isaac walked to the doors, with me following behind.
He tried to open the doors, but it wasn't budging.
"It's stuck." He informs. "What? Open it." I told him. "I can't. It's stuck." Isaac said in a "duh" tone.
No need to get sassy with me mr. Lahey.
"Use your strength, Isaac." I told him.
Isaac rubbed his hands together and too several deep breaths before attempting to push the doors apart.
He didn't open them all the way, but we could see what was blocking the door. It was a vending machine. The vending machine was broken.
Who would break a perfectly good vending machine? Now how am I supposed to get my snacks? The school better buy a new one.
Isaac started pushing the doors opens against, but this time, I helped him. We pushed the door. It wasn't all the way open, but it was open enough for us to fit though it and walk over the vending machine.
There was shards of glass all over the floor and a whole bunch of snacks from the vending machine.
I found a closed bag of Doritos and picked it up before opening it and eating it.
"Are you serious?" Isaac asked as I ate a chip. "Of course." It came out muffled.
There was another noise.
"What the hell was that?" I ask. "I don't know. Maybe they hear you chewing." Isaac joked. I rolled my eyes and kept eating.
"I think," Isaac started. "It's coming from Mr. Harris's room." He told me.
"Why would Mr. Harris be at school right now?" I asked. "I don't know," he says, walking toward the classroom. "But stay behind me."
I rolled my eyes and followed behind him.
"I did what you asked. You can't kill me." We heard Mr. Harris say as we approached his classroom.
The door was open and we peeked inside. Mr. Harris was sitting at his desk. He was talking to someone directly in front of him.
Who was in front of him?
I couldn't see who it was. Stupid Isaac was blocking my way.
"Who is he talking to?" I whispered.
Isaac didn't answer. "Isaac?" I asked. No answer. "Dude?" I called.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed his shirt before pulling him back.
As I pulled him back and stepped in front, I was met face to face with something terrifying.
It was a person, I think. But it was hideous.
I couldn't explain it. It was definitely something supernatural.
I heard the pack talking about something called a Darach. Maybe this is what/who they were talking about.
This has got to be it.
"T-That's the Darach." Isaac stuttered.
"Yeah, well no shit Sherlock" is what I wanted to say, but I was tongue tied.
I was face to face with this monster. It stared me straight in my eyes. It was horrifying.

"Alex, I think we should run." Isaac whispered.
I felt like my feet were glued to the floor. I was in shock.
"Alex?" Isaac called.
Just then, the Darach let out a growl and it snapped me out of whatever trance I was in.
"Run!" Isaac yelled, grabbing my hand and dragging me along as we ran down the hall.
As I looked back, all I saw was the Darach following us, surrounded by a huge cloud of mist.
We were running fast, but the Darach was fast too.
We got to a point where Isaac was running at the same pace, but I was slowing down. My legs were wearing out.
Since Derek (or anyone really) never taught me how to use my werewolf abilities again, I can't control my super speed, or whatever it is.
I took a few breaths before I finally stopped running.
I collapsed to the floor, gasping for air.
"Alex! Get up!" I heard Isaac yell.
I suddenly saw the horrifying face of the Darach above me.
The thing smirked before starting to hit me. It was scratching me, mostly on my chest.
Just then, I saw something was thrown at the Darach, causing it to stumble back, giving me time to stand up and run over to Isaac.
"You seriously did not just throw a fire extinguisher at the thing." I told him.
"I believe I did." He said. "How stupid was that?" I ask. "It saved your life, didn't it?"
I looked back at the Darach to see it walking over to us.
"This might be a good time to run away." I suggested. "Maybe you're right." Isaac agreed as we started running again.
We ran out of the building and into the woods. There, I collapsed again, but this time it wasn't because I was exhausted from running, it was because I couldn't run anymore.
My injuries were hurting too much. My chest, where the Darach was constantly hitting and scratching me, was hurting like hell.
"Alex!" Isaac called, running back to me.
I started coughing, but I realized that I was coughing up blood. This isn't good.
"Oh my god. What am I supposed to do?" Isaac started panicking.
"Calm down." I said. It was a struggle, just trying to say those two words.
"Just take me to Derek's house. He can help me." I instructed.
Isaac nodded before picking me up bridal style and was on his way to Derek's place.
~
"Derek?" Isaac called as we entered his loft.
No response.
"Derek?" He called again.
Nothing.
"I don't think he's home." Isaac stated the obvious.
He took me to his room and set me to lay on his bed.
"I'll be right back." He says before leaving and then coming back with some running alcohol and bandages.
"I'm gonna be Doctor Isaac tonight." He said. I smiled a little.
He lifted up my shirt and examined all the cuts and scratches.
Isaac wet a paper towel with rubbing alcohol before putting it on the bruises and scars.
It stung a bit, but I'll live.
Once he was done, he put a huge bandage on it to cover all of them.
"Doctor Isaac to the rescue!"
