Ricky's POV
I sighed as I stared at y/n's perfection, from a safe distance away of course. I was the school's biggest nerd and the fact that girls like her would never date me makes it worse. On top of that, she has a boyfriend! The school's captain of the football team, David Stone. Ironic, huh? I just can't help the crush on her though, believe me, I've tried. Nothing works
"Oh look! It's little Dillon!" David yelled out and pointed to me. "What's the matter? Can't handle all the hate? Wait, why do I ask? Of course it is. Fucking Ricky doesn't want all the stress. Just go back home and run to your mommy. You don't belong here." He growled
"Leave me alone." I mumbled quietly
"See what I mean? Speak up, baby. I don't think anyone can hear you." He howled with laughter
"I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!" I shouted. Everyone's attention was now on me, including y/n's. Crap
"Leave him alone, David. Ricky did nothing to you." Y/n spoke up and pointed to me. How does she know who I am? And why does she give a damn about me?
"Babe-" David started
"Don't call me that." Y/n growled
David groaned and stormed off. I saw y/n start walking over towards me and my lips start to shake, along with my hands and knees
Your POV
"You ok?" I asked Ricky
"I'm fine. Thanks, y/n." He smiled
"David can be such an ass sometimes." I complained
"Then why don't you break up with him?" He suggested
"Because, the whole reason I'm dating him, we made a bet. If he can get a girlfriend by the end of the month besides me, then I'll have to give him twenty bucks. If he doesn't get a girlfriend, then he has to treat me to dinner. It's more complicated than that, but just the main points will do. The fact is that I just don't like the bet anymore, so I tried bending the rules." I explained
"How?" He pondered
"If I can get a boyfriend, he has to break up with me." I told him
"And if you don't?" Ricky questioned
"If I don't, I have to run around the school in this stupid, ugly, frilly, and light yellow dress with flowers." I crinkled my nose
"I can pretend to be your boyfriend." He suggested with a smirk
"That's perfect! Thanks Ricky." I smiled
"Just returning the favor."
<During third period>
It was lunch now. Ricky and I walked into the cafeteria quietly
"Ok, now." I whispered to him. He nodded and wrapped his arm around my waist. We kept walking like this until we saw David sitting with some of the football team, which included Alex, Cole, Matthew, and Lucian
"Hey, wanna see a magic trick?" I asked
"Uh.. Sure." Alex answered
"Abracadabra, kajam. Poof! You're single and I got a new boyfriend" I told David with a smirk
"What?! T-That can't be!" He stammered
"It is. Trash is dumped and so are you!" I shouted victoriously and walked away with Ricky
"That was awesome!" Ricky exclaimed
"Yeah, thanks again." I smiled and gave him a quick kiss. "Just returning the favor." I winked
