Chapter 1

"You sure this is the guy?" The man said as he stepped out of the darkness. Only a street lamp nearby to allow any light. His hat tipped down to hide face but his features were clear as day. His tanned complexion seemingly glowed warmly under the lamp's light. The gun in his grip shining like a gemstone.

"Yeah I'm sure." The other stepped out hat tipped down as well. His paler skin glowing like paper. Both stared down a man thrown to the ground, beaten almost to a pulp. The man begging and begging, saying he didn't know anything. Then the first of the two spoke up.

"Oh, I'm sorry." He chuckled. "Let me introduce myself." He cleared his throat mockingly, "Some know me as a man without mercy others as a greedy man, but really I'm a simple man. You might know me as Lovino. You know, from the mafia that run this town. The guy right next to me," He pointed his gun to the paler man next to him, tipping it carelessly. "He's my brother, Feliciano." Both tipped their hats back to show their faces, smirks plastered on their lips. They looked so alike but were ever-so different.

The begging man kept begging on and on. "Please, I don't know anything!" The second brother finally spoke up.

"Are you sure?" He lifted a condescending brow, unable to keep his smirk down.

"Yes, please I know nothing!" The second brother tightened his on the gun in his gun.

"Oh, you're funny but frankly, I don't believe you." He put on a cold stare as he fired the gun. The bullet hitting the begging man straight between the eyes. He fell to the ground, blood pooling below staining his clothes.

"You didn't have to do it like that." Feliciano whined as they walked away.

"Eh, I felt like it." He took out a cigarette and lit it, "Plus, he wasn't useful in any way so what would be the point of letting him live?"

"You have a point."

"Another death?" The brunette furrowed his brows, looking at the report that he had been given.

"Yep, this time in an alley in the slums of the city." The blond recited.

"That's unusual for them."

"Not really."

"Well, we better do something about it before more are killed."

"How will we do that? These guys are impossible to track." The blonde ran a hand through his hair, unsure of what to do next. He then shrugged remembering he had to answer. The brunette watched him closely with a bit an amused smile. "See that's the spirit! Now get on and work, I have some business to take care of." The blonde left, leaving the brunette in the office. The phone rang.

"Hello." It was a familiar unamused voice.

"Oh, hello Lovi!" He squealed in excitement.

"Don't call me that."

"So, what do you want?" He ignored the comment.

"Just to talk."

"That's adorable, what's up?" He heard some shuffling. A small beat of silence swept by as if being dusted away.

"Sorry, my brother had to tell me something." He sighed, "Did you hear about that murder?"

"Yeah, it's a tragic thing that another died due such terrible people."

"Eh, people die everyday but it's weird how it was in the slums."

"Yep each day I get worried that they're going to get you next."

"Fat chance of that!" Lovino laughed. "I'd put up a good fight before I'd go down." Antonio chuckled at the man's stubbornness.

"How's your brother?"

"Fine, he's making lunch right now."

"Good to hear."

"Well, I better get going, I pretty sure he's done cooking by now."

"Okay bye Lovi~."

"Bye and I said not to call me that." Lovino then hung up. Antonio went back to work with a smile on his face.

Alfred walked to scene of the crime. The body was covered with a white sheet while a man took pictures for evidence. A man by the name of Arthur uncovered the body and crouched down to take a look.

"So what happened to him?" Alfred asked.

"He was shot in the head." Arthur simply stated. It was more than obvious. "His expression makes it seem like he was frightened before his death."

"That seems harsh."

"You could say that but I've seen worse." He paused for a second as if he was remembering it. He shook his head and looked back to Alfred. "Anyway, it looks like he was shot from over there." He pointed to about three feet further in the dirty alley.

"So, they were interrogating him for some reason."

"I believe so."

"Well, thanks for the info."

"Whatever." Alfred walked away. He kept walking through the city until he found himself at his favorite bar. The Rat Tails bar. A family owned one making it seemingly more trustworthy to him. It was in the middle of the city between the shady parts and the nicer ones. He entered and many greeted him. He sat on his usual stool. Almost immediately a glass of whisky was placed in front of him. He thanked the bartender. After a few minutes the small bartender came back.

"Alfred what brings you here?" The small finnish man greeted cheerfully.

"I wanted to know if you had any new info."
Tino quickly scanned the area around him, leaning closer as to not be heard.

"I heard the guy that was murdered owed the mafia lots of money." He muttered, his voice low.

"Is that all?"

Tino nodded. "Sadly yes." He leaned back.

"Man, this case is stressful." Alfred whined, taking a sip of his whisky.

"So who were you talking to fratello?" Feliciano calmly asked, his face stuffed with pasta.

"Just Antonio." Lovino answered. Then he noticed the smirk that played on his brother's face. "Why do you have that cocky look on your face?"

"I don't know." Feliciano rolled his eyes slowly with a grin. "Maybe because you're in love with Antonio." He teased. Lovino near choked for a quick second before putting up his stubborn nature again.

"Like hell I do. I'd rather barf." Feliciano giggled at his brother.

"And I don't hear you saying his name when you sleep." Feliciano earned a glare from his brother causing him to grow cockier. "Oh Antonio!" He teased in a higher pitched squeal. Lovino got up from the table and walked away muttering a 'fuck off'. The smirk continued to play on Feliciano's face. For being leaders of the mafia they are very childish. Often teasing each other like children. They were just siblings, after all, so it was by nature. Feliciano smiled at the some memories of how they would fight as kids. Always getting in trouble.

~

Once Feliciano finished his food he left and explored their large house. Having been passed down generations, it was an old house. The last being their grandfather. He left everything to the two siblings. It was a good life for them. They could even afford maids and a butler who they were incredibly nice to. Most would expect them to be cruel to to those they hired. It was the closest thing to a lie. They were better than that.

They're only cruel to people who turned their backs them. Some swear that when the two are seething, they're possessed by demons. That was only a rumor just like the millions of rumors about them.

Feliciano was sometimes baffled by the police's ineptitude at catching them. They're the richest people in the city. Then he always remembered it's because they're just bribing the officals to make sure they don't investigate.

After a while Feliciano arrived to his room and began to pass the time by drawing.
