Chapter Two
Video is of our Queen Barbara Palvin! (Grace)
"Stop" I squeal as Xavier pushes me back on the sofa, climbing above me so I have no room to escape. "Xavier stop" I plead as he smirks evilly, pinning my hands above my head and lowering his lips dangerously closely to mine.
"Why?"
He smiles and I momentarily forget how to form any kind of sentence. We've barely walked through the front door and the only thing he's had time to take off is his suit tie and jacket. The first couple of buttons to his crisp white shirt are undone, revealing parts of his tattooed chest to my wandering eyes.
"Because I - " His lips touch the front of my throat, playfully skimming his teeth along the sensitive skin. I have to swallow the rest of my words to control them.
"Because you what Grace?" He teases quietly, returning his lips to their previous position.
"Because I - " His free hand that isn't holding mine runs softly down my side, brushing faintly over my breasts for the very slightest of seconds. "I don't know."
He hums softly as his lips move to the corner my mouth, staying there only a second before they move over mine and allow my fingers to find their way into his hair. "I've been to busy" he whispers, pulling away ever so slightly. "I've barely seen you at all this month and we're getting married in two weeks. I couldn't even come to the flower thing."
"To see the florist?" I smile as he nods apologetically. "I don't think you would've enjoyed picking out roses anyway."
"I would've if you wanted me to" he whispers as I brush my thumb against his frowning bottom lip. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay, I know you have a lot going on" I don't actually think I could ever comprehend what it is he has to deal with. Especially since he tells me nothing about it anyway. "I wish I could help you deal with everything."
"You do" he answers quietly, placing his lips against mine again. "You're the only thing that helps me deal with everything." He brushes the hair back from my face as my legs wrap around his tensing waist. "I don't deserve you."
"Don't say that" I whisper, pulling him closer to me by the collar of his shirt. My legs tighten around him as he shifts to press himself against me. I surprise us both by moving my hips against his slowly, which makes him smile and cover my mouth with his lips. They still taste faintly like like the ice cream we had earlier.
"Guess whose - Oh my God my eyes! I've been blinded!"
Xavier makes some kind of annoyed growl from the back of his throat as I quickly untangle myself from around him, pushing him back quickly so I can sit up.
I run a hand quickly through my hair that's already an obvious mess and I know the blush is deep on my face. Xavier glares in the direction of Sam, who covers his eyes at the front door with a horrified expression on his face.
"Can I open my eyes yet. Or is there still nasty stuff happening? I don't feel vomiting on your marble floor tonight."
"What the hell do you want now?"
I slap Xavier, whose rudeness isn't at all noticed by Sam as he uncovers his eyes. "I came to spend some quality time with Grace, obviously."
Xavier goes to answer, probably with something rude again but his sentence is stopped as the familiar small footsteps of Sam's dog makes its way through our kitchen. "Don't tell me you bought that rodent back with you."
Sam narrows his eyes at Xavier, picking up the small black and white dog and covering her ears. "Don't say that around Madonna, she's sensitive" Xavier looks at me and the pissed off expression on his face makes me giggle.
"And FYI, she's a purebred, pedigree French bulldog who is ten times prettier than your nasty face."
"My nasty face is about to kick you and your science experiment out of my house. Can you not see we're busy?" He glances at me with a hot, knowing look and I groan, placing a hand over my face. This couldn't be more embarrassing.
"Don't be pissed at me because I interrupted you trying to get it on with your fiancé. It's not my fault Tom needs to see you, I just decided to come to keep Grace company. I didn't know you'd be getting all nasty in the lounge. Remind me to never sit on that sofa ever again."
"Tom needs to see me?" Xavier suddenly doesn't care about anything else Sam said, unlike me who will be mortified for a very long time after this.
"Yeah, he's still outside I think."
Xavier stands from the sofa, sending an apologetic look in my direction as he walks towards the front door. "He could just come inside you know - okay then" Sam finishes as Xavier walks straight out the front door and closes it loudly behind him. "I'm glad Tom isn't the only one acting like that."
Sam sits beside me, placing Madonna between us who doesn't seem at all phased by the situation as she curls into a small ball. "Xavier doesn't really tell me what's going on."
"Tom usually does" Sam nods, flicking the TV onto some reality TV show, making himself at home like usually does whenever he decides to turn up. "But not this time, he hasn't said anything about it, he's just been acting off and he's never home."
"Weird" I mumble, glancing outside to where Xavier and Tom both stand. It's completely dark now but the lights outside make it easy to see their tense figures standing by one of the cars. I can see Tom showing Xavier a pile of paperwork, whatever that paperwork contains is a mystery to me. Like everything about Xavier's work, it's all a mystery.
"Anyway" Sam grins at me, clapping his hands together. "Two weeks until your big day!" I can't help but smile. I feel like I've been planning this with Sam for so long, and now we are so close to actually being able to enjoy all the hard work we've put into it.
Sam decided to make himself my official wedding planner as soon as Xavier and I got engaged almost 11 months ago now. He's the perfect organiser. Plus, now that Arnica has three kids under five, she is usually always busy with her young family. I didn't mind though, Sam and I have grown undeniably close over the last few years and Arnica and I have slowly drifted apart compared to how we used to be.
"If I have to look at one more magazine about anything to do with weddings ever again, I think I'll kill myself."
"You have to kill me first, let's just pray Noah doesn't propose to Arnica anytime soon."
"You know what they're like, they'll probably get married in some random country and not tell any of us." Noah and Arnica can be slightly crazy and unpredictable at times, I think it's what makes their relationship work. They are both as spontaneous as each other.
"I bloody hope so. This is my second and last time ever planning a wedding, so don't go getting engaged to anyone else anytime soon please."
"I don't think Xavier would be a huge fan of me if that happened."
"That's one way to put it" Sam snickers slightly. "I'm fairly sure you're stuck with him forever, sorry to break it to you."
"I could be stuck with worse" I smile slightly as Sam awe's, placing a hand over his heart.
"Bless, you two are so cute. Just pray you can put up with him once you're married. Trust me, you think they can't get any more annoying, but they can, they really."
"Thanks, you're giving me so much to look forward to."
"It's what I'm here for babes."

Xavier's POV
"She fell asleep" Sam whispers quietly an hour or so later as he passes me on my way inside. "Sorry for interrupting your intimate moment together" he wiggles his eyebrows and keeps his arms firmly secured around what he claims to be a dog.
"She's okay, right?" Sam smiles in return and nods as he glances at the sofa.
"She's fine, but you should probably tell her what's going on some time, she worries about you a lot. It's quite cute actually."
"I don't deserve her."
"No, you don't, so don't go treating her like an ass" Sam points an accusing finger at my chest but still has a smile on his lips. "Because I'll cut off your balls, slowly."
"I feel like you and Arnica threaten me with that way too often."
"It's because we love you" Sam explains, patting my head because he knows it annoys me and his smile widens as I smack his hand away. "I'll see your nasty face in the morning."
"Great" I mutter sarcastically but my hand wraps around his bicep, stopping him from walking out the door. "Thanks for always looking out her Sam."
"You're always welcome Xaivy Poo."
I roll my eyes as he leaves, walking across to the sofa where Grace is curled under a blanket, hair sticking across the pillows in all sorts of directions.
Her rosy lips are parted ever so slightly, shallow breaths leaving her chest that's much to admirable in the tight dress she decided to wear today.
"Xavier?" She whispers, her voice mostly slurred with sleep as I pick her up in the blanket, holding her against my chest as I walk carefully towards the stairs.
"Hmm?"
"It's late, right?"
"Uh-" I glance at my watch as her eyes try to flutter open "It's not quite 8.30."
"I'm such a Nana" She mumbles into my chest. I kiss her forehead and she leans into me just as I have to place her down on the bed.
"You're the sexiest Nana I've ever seen" I tell her as the blush taints her cheeks. "Do you want to get changed?" I have to squeeze her shoulders to keep her awake as she shakes her head. "You won't be comfortable in that all night."
She sighs quietly and nods, taking my hands in hers as I help her sit up. "I don't know why I'm so tired" she says, trying to pull the dress over her head which gets stuck just below her chest. "I give up" she grumbles as I chuckle, helping her pull the material over her head.
"You have no idea what you do to me" I tell her as I hand her one of my t-shirts, directing my gaze to her eyes only as she undoes her bra and pulls the oversized top down. She smiles innocently, shrugging tiredly as she wraps her arms around my shoulders. "You drive me insane" I whisper, kissing her cheek and pushing her down into the pillows, covering her tiny frame with the blankets.
"What did Tom need to see you for?" She asks timidly, as if afraid to talk to me about it.
"It was - " I sigh quietly from where I sit on the side of the bed, glancing down at her half-asleep form. How could I ever begin to try and explain something like this to her? She'd never understand, I don't think I'd want her to understand anyway. The more sheltered I can keep her from the other side of my life the better. It's safer that way and her safety comes before anything else in my life.
"You don't have to tell me" She replies, staring up at me with her sleepy gaze. "I know it's complicated."
"It's not that I don't want to tell you" I reassure her, or at least try to. "I just don't want you to worry, you have enough to deal with without having to hear about my problems."
She nods weakly, she's so tired. I doubt she'll even remember this conversation in the morning. My fingers softly brush the hair back from her face like they always do. She looks exhausted and very pale which worries me, hopefully she isn't getting sick.
"Xavier" She mumbles and I hum quietly in reply as her fingers reach out to mine. "I love you."
Her eyes close but I smile anyway, squeezing her thin fingers between my much rougher ones. "I love you too baby" I whisper, wishing I could climb into bed beside her but it's the last thing I can do. Especially not now that I have hundreds of pages of files to read through.
I glance down at her sleeping form, standing as quietly as I can so I don't wake her. I need to go through every page of this paperwork until it kills me if it means I can find out what the hell's going on.
