Chapter 20 (Short Chapter and A/N)
Jeff the Killer's POV
"Marie?" Slenderman slowly walked towards Ticci-Toby and placed his hand on her short brown hair, his head down. "S-She's alive?"
I peeked out the window again and saw the cops in the same position, but they'll be moving soon. "Who else would it be?" I asked, looking back at him, "She's alive and somewhat well!"
Slenderman turned his head in my direction and continued, "What do you mean?"
Kristi chuckled nervously and scratched the back of her neck. "She sort of lost her memory. She doesn't remember who we are and what she even is."
"Kristi, I thought you said you killed her. H-How is this even...?"
I felt my eye twitch slightly and I heard footsteps near the front door. "Sorry to ruin the drama here," I interrupted, very impatient, "but I think I have to remind you guys that we are surrounded by the FUCKING POLICE!"
Kristi and Slender instantly quit their conversation and Slenderman nodded. "You're right," he said, straightening up as best as he could with the small ceiling, "I'll have the police gone momentarily."
Slenderman shuddered slightly before disappearing for a second, the lights flickering. There was a few small screams of surprise before it returned to silence. After another minute, Slenderman returned with a loose tie and he was fixing it to look professional again. He looked at Ticci-Toby and ordered, "Toby, I need you to carry Marie back to the mansion."
He nodded and left, despite the hostages' cries of disapproval. He looked at Kristi and continued with no emotion in his tone, "You'll be at my office and you'll explain everything to me instantly."
I saw Kristi give a small, shaky smile before nodding, grabbing a hold of Slenderman's arm. I twirled my knife in my hands and asked, "And what would I be doing?"
Slenderman turned his head to be and towards the hostages, returning to me. "Do you still have the pellets?" he asked, making me nod in understanding.
"I got it. You can go ahead now."
Slenderman nodded once again before teleporting away, leaving me with the hostages. "What are you going to do to us?" the old man asked, trying to sound brave.
I dug my hand into my pocket and pulled out pea sized pellets, looking at them. "Do you want to forget about this?" I asked, seeing them look at me in confusion, "If you take this, you will forget all about us. You'll never remember getting hurt. You'll never remember our faces. And you'll never remember Marie. It'll all be a simple dream. You won't have your wounds, either, and it's tasteless. You won't even know what happened. What do you say?"
It was silent again when the mom nodded. I went to her and kneeled to her height, holding a pellet in my hand. I motioned her to open her mouth and she did, making me drop the pellet. She swallowed it and, instantly, fell to the floor, small snores coming out of her mouth. I looked at her husband and he nodded, too, making me do the same. When he fell asleep, I looked at the kids and asked again, "You want to do this, right?"
"And if we refuse?" the boy asked, questioning in his voice.
"Then I kill you. It's not hard to put together."
The older girl looked at the pellets and then my eyes, asking quietly, "Will we have to forget Marie?" When I nodded, she started to tear up and sighed. "Okay."
I fed her the pellet and gave the youngest girl the pellet without asking. She reminded me too much of my own brother. I couldn't make her have these memories.
I went to the boy and we stared at each other intensely. I noticed the boy was crying a lot more than it looked, but that was because he held a serious face while crying. "Why can't Marie just stay with us?" he asked, pain in his voice, "Why did you have to come for her?"
I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. "Look, I get why you want her to stay, but you do realize that she's not an orphan, right? She has a family. More importantly, she's MY family. We had to come and get her back at one point, too. Plus, you saw her other side. You were lucky that before she came here that we trained her to control it freely. But imagine what would've happened if she couldn't and she wasn't bound."
The guy stared at me in awe and clenched his teeth, sighing. "Can you give her a little message for me, then? Before we do this."
I nodded and he leaned forward, whispering it in my ear. I leaned back and he gave me a nod before I dropped the pellet in his mouth. He collapsed and I untied them all, carrying them to their beds. I placed a rock inside the house and threw the glass in carefully to make it look like a prank. I grabbed my things and left the house, going towards the forest. "First half of the mission is complete," I mumbled to myself, "but we still have to get Marie her memories back."

Hey guys! Sorry to do this, but I'm going to put this in the On Hold list for a while. I don't know how long it'll be before I write more, but I just don't know what to write anymore for the upcoming chapters. BUT I WON'T GIVE UP ON THIS!
Sorry about this and please don't kill me.
