Chapter 15 (Another A/N Afterwards!)
Marie's POV
"Marie? Marie, wake up!"
"What happened to her?"
"I-I don't know! I heard something fall and I went to the bathroom to see her passed out! I swear!"
Something cold touched my face, making me somewhat more conscious that before. I slowly opened my eyes to see myself on the ground of Sarah's room, covered in a blanket. Mark, Toby, and Sarah were next to me. Their faces looked relieved when I opened my eyes. "You gave us quite the scare, Marie!" Mark said, removing the cold towel that was on my head, "You were just knocked cold when Toby found you in the bathroom! Are you alright?"
I just looked at the ceiling and replied tiredly, "My head started hurting and I passed out. I think I was too tired."
Sarah sighed at my reassurance and smiled, unknowing about my lie. "Maybe you shouldn't work today," she suggested, "You overworked yourself and it'll be bad for you to pass out while doing something big."
Mark nodded in agreement, standing up. "Just stay here and rest," he ordered nicely, "We'll start going out. Come on, guys."
Sarah got up, but Toby didn't. "I'll catch up to you guys," he said, Mark nodding at this.
When they left, Toby scooted closer to my side and frowned, making me confused. "Why did you overwork yourself?" he asked, worry filling his voice.
"I don't know," I replied, shrugging the blanket to sit up.
Instantly, Toby pushed me to lay down and covered me up. "You're not moving. You're going to stay here and relax."
He grabbed the wet towel and dunked it in the water, applying it on my forehead lightly. I stared at him while he did this and frowned. "Why are you doing this, Toby?"
Toby stopped and froze, just sitting there. After what seemed like eternity, he finally stood up and went to the door, simply replying, "Because I like you."
He left me alone that, making me lay there. I frowned and brought my hand up to take the towel off when I felt another shot of pain through my head. I groaned quietly and saw a silhouette of a boy maybe a year older or two than me. He was holding some sort of axes in his hands and he ticked every now and then. As the silhouette faded, it whispered the names, "Toby... Marie..."
I didn't realize that I was holding my breath and took a deep one, afraid I'll not be able to breathe next time. Who's the guy? I tried to remember, Why did it know my name?
Ticci-Toby's POV
Huh, I thought as I swam in the now filled bathroom, This is not what I expect death to be like. I thought I would die doing something cool.
I swam to the door again and tried to knock it down again, but to no avail. I saw black patches in my vision and I knew I was about to pass out. I tried to hit the door again, but failed once more. Aw, screw it, I thought, closing my eyes and floating away, No one will hear me. I'm already dying, anyways. Might as well have my life flash before my eyes.
I closed my eyes and saw everything in my life go through. I saw my amazing mother and sister, smiling at me with wide eyes. I also saw that bastard that ruined our lives, but he quickly left my memories. I saw Slenderman pick me up from the forest and giving me new clothes to hide my identity. I saw how I first met Marie in the hallway of the mansion. I saw how she smiled and how we would train her other form from being a complete maniac to something she could control freely.
I felt a smile come on my lips. After all this time and all the shit I went through, I thought, knowing no one would hear it, I think meeting her was the only memory I'll keep with me when I pass. Too bad I never got to tell her that I-
I couldn't complete my thought due to the sudden sensation of being pulled out of the water.
Kristi's POV
I knocked on Jeff's door and waited impatiently, tapping my foot. The door opened to a tired looking Jeff, his expression turning sour. "What do you want?" he snapped, his eyes piercing my own.
I frowned and answered, "Help me get Marie back."
If his eyes could widen, they probably would've. "So you didn't kill her, huh? Can't say I'm not surprised since I already knew that. But why do you want to save her after trying to get rid of her? A sudden change of heart from Mommy dearest?"
I glared at him, feeling irritated that he's mocking me. "I'm serious. I realized my mistake and I want to correct it. I realized that Marie wasn't a monster like I was told and I realized that she's the reason I became who I am. Now, will you please help me with this, Jeff?"
Jeff stood there boredly before sighing, pulling his knife out from his hoodie pocket. "That's the thing about Marie. She changed us in a way. I used to be an asshole who doesn't give a crap about people. Now, I'm an asshole who cares a little about family. She's like a sister and I can't afford to lose her." He tried his best to glare at me. "If you're backstabbing us later, though, I'll slit your throat myself."
"Fair enough. Now, let's get Toby from the bathroom. He might be alive still."
Jeff stared at me before yelling in surprise and running to the bathroom. Quickly, he opened the door and water poured out of the bathroom, Toby sliding out after most of it came out. He coughed up water and groaned, sitting up. "Finally!" he yelled, taking his mouthguard off to only cough up more water, "Jesus, am I invisible to you guys?"
When he processed his surroundings and saw me, Toby jumped up and got into a fighting stance. "I'm going to kill you, you bitch!" he screamed, trying to punch me.
Jeff held him back and reassured, "Calm down, dude. She's alright now. She's taking us to Marie."
Toby stopped and looked at me, making me nod to answer. "I know where Marie is," I said, "She's at a farm that's easily unnoticeable through the portal. I'll take us there and we'll have to get her back."
Toby stood still and glared, pointing a finger at me. "And why should we trust you?" he questioned, obviously not believing me.
"I'm not asking you to trust me." My eyes teared up slightly. "I just want my baby back with me."
