Chapter 3
The curtains opened wide, letting sunshine come in my room and waking me up. I groaned and threw the blanket over my head, trying to fall back asleep. Suddenly, the blanket was tore off of me and I mumbled a whine, "Give me back my blanket!"
I opened my eyes to see Mom standing there, a big smile on her face. "Rise and shine, Marie!" she happily chirped, "We're going to have some fun today!"
I smiled a little at her exciting mood and sat up, rubbing my eyes. "What're we going to do today?" I asked, getting out of bed and going to me closet. Mom smiled wider and replied, "We're going to walk around!"
My smiled widened. I've always liked to walk since I came here. I looked back at her and said, "Awesome! Can you leave the room real quick? I have to change into different clothes."
She nodded and left the room, letting me grab some clothes real fast. I put a navy blue, puffy, knee length dress and some black knee length boots on and looked in the mirror. My bed head made me look like a lion ready to battle. I chuckled at this and brushed my hair, pulling it in a high ponytail. I took a navy blue ribbon and tied a bow around the ponytail. After I did my hair, I grabbed some clear Chapstick and put it on, finishing my clothes. I twirled in front of the mirror one last time, nodding at my outfit, and went downstairs.
Once I was downstairs, I was instantly tackled to the ground. I groaned in pain and looked to see that Smile Dog was on me, smiling like always. He barked at me and licked my cheek, making it wet. "Gross, Smile," I laughed, scratching being his ear. I pushed him gently off of me and went to the living room, seeing Slenderman, Splendorman, Jeff, BEN, and Ticci-Toby there. I walked in and greeted, "Good morning!"
Toby smiled and bid me good morning, making me smile back. Splendorman hugged the air out of me and Slenderman said morning, as well. Jeff, who is basically like a big brother to me, grunted in response since he was playing some game that BEN kept glitching on purpose. I looked at Slenderman and asked, "Where's Mom?"
"She's in the kitchen," he answered. "She wanted to make you something before you go to walk together." I thanked him and went to the kitchen. I smiled when I saw Mom standing there, wearing an apron around her. She was wearing a red, short sleeved shirt, black leather jeans, and black running shoes. "Hey, Mom!" I cheered, making her chuckle.
"Morning, sweetie!" she said back, giving me a plate. On the plate was some eggs and a biscuit, making me stomach grumble a little. I thanked her and ate breakfast quickly, wanting to leave to the park soon. I cleaned my plate and helped Mom clean the other dishes she used. When we finished, Mom grabbed her black jacket and looked at me. "Ready to go?" she asked, earning a nod in response.
"Let's go!" I cheered, waving bye to everyone. "See you later!" They bid us goodbye and went back to their thing as we closed the door.
As we walked to the portal, we talked about things that we liked or disliked. When we walked through the portal, we were in a big open field with a farm not too far from here. The flowers were a mixture of dandelions, lavenders, sunflowers, and other kinds of wild flowers. The sun was high in the sky, making it a little hot. I walked in front as we went through the field, seeing trees in front of us. I looked at Mom from the corner of my eye and noticed she seemed different. She wasn't smiling that big and it was like she had something on her mind. I can't really say anything, though. I just met her and she could look like this all the time. I shrugged it off and looked ahead.
"I'm really glad I finally met you, Mom," I said out of the blue, smiling a sad smile. "I forgot what you were like and I wanted to remember. I'm glad we get to meet again."
I moved out of the way of a tree, looking back at Mom. She stopped where she was and smiled at me. "I'm glad to see you, too, sweetie," she said, smiling sad, too. "I'm glad I can see my baby girl one last time."
I raised my eyebrow in confusion. One last time? I thought, What is she talking abo- Suddenly, my vision became blurry. I leaned against a tree, trying to hold my balance. My knees weakened and made me sit down, my back against the tree. I looked at Mom and saw her crying. She held a kitchen knife in her hand, making me realize something; she's going to kill me. She poisoned me with the food she made and took me here so I wouldn't be found. "Why?" I asked, barely above a whisper. "Why are you doing this?"
She kept crying as she went down to my level. She hugged me, stabbing me with the knife in the stomach. I felt blood come in my mouth and I coughed it up, my face went with tears. "Because Mommy loves you," she answered before I blacked out.
