16 ~ Thomas
The school building looms over me, me in my NASA shirt, and drawn on tattoos. Me who isn't me today.
I slouch my back slightly as a push open the doors, knowing that Calum doesn't always have the best poster.
My bag is hung over only one shoulder and my hair is messy, my short curls pushed across my forehead. My contact covered eyes dart across the hallway as I remember Calum's locker Number.
Not many people are here, I've arrived a bit early, only because I wanted to make sure Calum knew what to say in the debate, then waited around the corner for around 15 minutes before coming to school.
I glance through the skinny, rectangular window of the debate room while passing it. Calum's back was facing the door however, Valerie was facing him, giving me full view of her face. She rolled her eyes, moving her hands as she began talking, taking small steps toward him.
"Whatcha looking at, Cal?" A voice causes me to turn alway from the window. I almost groan aloud seeing a familiar blond quiff and bright blue eyes.
However, I force the famous lopsided grin that Calum made me practice countless times last night.
Luke's eyes look past me through the window, a long "ohhh" escaping his lips. He wiggles his eyebrows saying "It's the hottie that you got got eye on huh? Valerie is it?"
I fake a scoff, making my eyes roll in there sockets, a feeling that was foreign to me. "I don't fancy Valerie." I say in Calum's usual unamused tone, starting walk to lock number 534.
So it's true, even his band mates can tell that his into Valerie.
"Mhm sure." Luke hums, a little chuckle following his words. "Well, I'll see you later." He waves, turning down another hall to where I assume his locker is.
I gulp, spotting another head of blond hair, one that would make Luke seem like a angel.
Seth was huddled with some of his football posse, giving a guy with sandy brown hair a high five for some joke he just said, all of them laughing.
I act as normal and calm as I could, keeping my eyes on the lock attached to the pale blue locker, reciting his combination in my head.
"Hey bro!" Seth holds his hand up for a high five, causing me to strain ever fiber in my body not to flinch from his upraised hand and to slap my palm against his.
He walks away, giving me- or 'Calum' a small smile.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, a small smile stretching my lips as I realized he didn't know it was me.
Im hit by an unrecognizable odor coming from Calum's cluttered locker once I open it.
Grabbing a brown paper bag with the very end of my pointer finger and thumb, I look inside to find a rotten apple and molded sandwich.
I hastily throw away the vile bag, taking in deep swallows of air to keep form barfing.
Gross, Calum. That had to be like a week old.
I decide I don't want to find what else was rotting away in his locker and grab the books I needed, shutting the locker with a small bang.
It was weird, going the opposite way of my normal class, it was strange going out of my usual routine.
I sit in Calum's desk, knowing it was beside Peter, Seth's best friend.
Or should I say used-to-be best friend... I've barely seen Peter since the whole crying in the hall way incident.
I glance at him, his buff frame was covered in a maroon, unzipped hoodie, a blue undershirt with the sleeves pulled up to his knuckles. His face was tilted down to the desk.
I snap my eyes back to my desk, his eyes almost catching mine on him. Mrs.Cortez clears her throat, causing the class to come to a quite hush.
"Today class," she pauses, her eyes scanning the room full of teens. "Will be a partner project."
The whole class groans, including a real one from me. I hated partner work, I usually end up doing all the work.
A hand shoots up, grabbing Mrs. Cortez's attention. " Yes, Candice?"
"Can we choose our partner?" She asks timidly, the class silent in hope.
"No, I'm afraid not."
Groans intensify, and I watch as Peter throws his head back, sliding down into his chair, a slight pout on his face.

"Quite, Quite." Mrs. Cortez says sternly. "Now, this project will be turned in at the end of class, it's really just partner work, but I need more project grades so it will be counted as a project." She says grabbing a stack of papers from her desk.
"Take one and pass the rest, would you?" Handing the papers to Candice, she grabs her clipboard that had another paper on it.
"Alright, here are the pairs." She says, her eyes reading lazily across the paper.
"Mariana and Katie."
The two girls smile widely, automatically looking at each other, mouthing 'yes!'
"Madi and Hannah."
I watch as both girls groan, rolling their eyes at the others name.
"Josh and Tyler."
I lean back in my seat, wondering who I would get paired with.
"Peter and Calum."
It took a second for me to remember that I was Calum, at least for today.
I turn to look at Peter, he was already looking at me, a small smile on his face. I guess him and Calum were somewhat friends.
"Hey," Peter pulls his chair over to my desk, bringing his paper and pencil. I give him a small nod, one that I hope looked like what Calum would do.
He looks over the paper, but suddenly stops, looking over to me with a small smirk on his face.
"What?" I accuse rudely, narrowing my eyes. That smile that he was showing me have me a weird feeling...
"You know Calum," he pauses. " I don't think you're being completely honest with me." He says, his voice smooth.
I pull my eyebrows together, confusion clouding my brain. "What? How could I have possible lied to you?"
The chuckles, leaning over so that his lips were inches away from my ear.
"Because, you're not really Calum, now are you?"
