19 ~ Calum

"Um, Zeina." Seth shrugs, pointing to the girl, picking her as one of his team.

I sigh, watching my breath materialize in front of my face to a misty fog. My olive green long sleeve was doing me no justice against this morning chill.

The crowd of people around me is starting to thin as Seth and Reagan pick members for Football. (Soccer)

"Liam." Reagan says, skipping right over me. Liam leaves my side, sending me a grimace as he left, he didn't like either of the team captains.

I couldn't blame him. Reagan was apart of Seth's little clique, who have shown me a whole new side of them today, and it's only first period.

I could tell what was happening. Seth and Reagan aren't going to pick me, or Thomas, which is who they think I am.

"Jada." Seth says, a small smirk on his face as he glances at me.

It was strange, and angering, that if they knew I was actually Calum, I would have been one of the first picked.

"Tyler."

Tyler and josh high five, happy to be on the same team.

I shift my weight onto the balls of my feet, bouncing up slightly, trying to seem less mad than I am because I know for Thomas this usual, but that doesn't mean it's right.

I have to force my jaw not to tighten as the last few people are filtered into teams, leaving just Niall and I left.

Niall's hands were stuffed deep into his pockets and he looked as if he all he wanted was for the ground to break away and swallow him whole.

"Now this is tough." Reagan says amused. "The Irish leprechaun, or the geeky freak..." He glances between us.

"I think I'd like the pot of gold." He says, and Niall lets out a small breath, sending me a sad glance before walking to Reagan.

"If you wanted a pot of gold you would have been better off picking him." Seth says, gesturing to me as I walk closer to him, being the last one I had to go to his team. "Niall can nearly afford his socks." Seth sneers while the rest of the team snickers.

Niall's face turns a deep shade of red and Liam glared at Seth for picking on his best friend.

"Alright, let's get going." Barked Coach Morris. "Seth's team, jerseys."

A few groans resound from the people around me, nobody likes being the jersey team.

The dark blue mesh was generations old, and they say they wash them, however the muddy sweat smell says otherwise.

I grimace, pulling the foul smelling, mud and grass stained jersey on.

We go to our side of the field, our cleats sinking to the squishy, freshly rained on grass.

A small flame of excitement flickered to life as we get into position. Football is my favorite sport, and I'm actually pretty good.

I'm on the team, along with Luke and Michael, oh and let's not forget Seth.

The whistle was blown and its high pitched ring was echoing through the field.

My feet rush into action as the ball starts to head my way. Readying myself into position to kick, I swing my leg back, but my foot never connects with the ball.

Instead my face connected with the ground. I roll over, my hand flying to my nose, mud splattered all over my face and cloths.

Seth was be hind me, he must have hooked his foot around my own, causing me to fall as someone else took the ball.

You're on the same team as me!

"What the hell was that?" He spit. That was the exact question I so very badly wanted to ask.

"I-"

"You've never gone to the ball before, you always stay behind and out of the way," He leans down, griping the front of my shirt. "That's where you need to stay, out of the way, Hood."

He releases me, causing me back to fall against the cold, wet mud. He glances back at me one last time before jogging back to where the rest of the class was paying.

I stand up slowly, my nose pulsing with my heart beat. I'm sure that there's blood mixed with all this dirt.

I guess that is was Thomas would do, stay away from the action. He's never been big into sports, so I should have done the same.

I just got too exited. I haven't been on the field in so long I forgot what it was like, and now that I got the tiniest of tastes, I want more.

It was hard not getting involved in the rest of the game. I did forget for only a second as the ball was rolling towards me very fast, however I was pushed to the ground by Reagan's elbow.

I wince on the ground, rubbing the spot in the middle of my chest where his elbow was so harshly shoved into moments ago.

It takes me a second to catch my breath, I was just laying there, staring up at the cloud less, gray sky.

"You feeling fierce today?" Niall's voice asked, while Liam's hand helped me up.

I shrug. "Not really. I guess the ball is attracted to me today."

They both take a step back. "Oh no, if that's the case I think I'll be fine over there." Liam laughs, sticking his thumb over his shoulder.

I laugh, but gasp as the ball flies out of nowhere, missing my head by just a hair, only to strike Liam right on the side of his head.

He stumbles sideways into Niall, who lost balance and they both fell to the ground with a thump.

"Oops" Seth shrugs, laughing slightly.

I help them up, the game finally over.

"If I had only stepped back one more time." Liam mumbles, rubbing his ear. "Then I would still have an ear drum." He sighs, snapping his fingers beside his left ear.

I peel off the disgusting jersey and throw it into the pile.

Niall laughs. "You can barrow one my Pop's hearing aids."

I stand awkwardly in the locker room, wanting to wait until everyone left, just to make sure that nobody had even the slightest clue that I was Calum.

After a few minutes, the coast seemed clear, and I decided it was safe to dig through my bag for the white button up and black cover up.

Suddenly two sets of hands wrap around my arms causing me to jump.

A familiar laugh bounces off the walls of the locker room as Seth and Reagan hold onto me.

"Hey Thomas, you're looking a bit dirty." Seth say, his hands tighten around my right forearm.

He waits for a answer, but I don't say a thing creating few seconds of silence, just the sounds of soft grunts at my attempt to escape their grip.

"Now now." Says Reagan coolly. "You don't want to go to class looking like a slob do you?" He asks, taking as step to the right, pulling me with him.

This time I give a small shrug, not sure if Thomas would have spit out a 'no' or some witty remark.

"I didn't think so." Said Seth, a certain amusement was in his voice, and it made me stomach to a flip of worry.

"I think you need to clean up." Reagan says, and before I could react I was being drug across the locker room.

Realizing what was happening, I begin to thrash my arms, trying to get out of their grip.

"No," The word flies from my mouth as I place my hands on both sides of the shower walls, trying to keep myself out. "Please! Don't-"

My arms shudder before giving out, the force of them pressing against my back causing my to run into the back wall of the shower and fall to a crumbled heap on the floor.

The sound of Seth's and Reagan's laughter echo in the tiny space making my already pounding head ache worse.

"Clean up bud." Reagan laughs, throwing a small piece of soap at me, it bounced off my forehead.

I Yelp in shock as ice cold water falls onto me, causing my whole body to sting.

The plastic door to the shower was slammed shut before I could even stand up to turn off the water.

My whole body was shaking, my teeth chattering as I turn the handle to turn off the water, it broke off.

They must have unscrewed it or something... Those assholes.

I push against the door, but it wouldn't open. My breathing increases, each breath just as painfully cold as the next.

Why can we just have shower curtains like everyone else in the world? Why this do we have to have stall doors?

I push again, this time, a small scream escaped my lips.

It's freezing in the locker room already, and I'm trapped in a shower thats stuck with cold water.

"Help!" I scream again, this time panicking. What if I freeze here? My fingers are already numb.

I push my soaking wet hair off my forehead, grabbing the handle to the shower that I had dropped.

Fumbling for a moment, I finally got it to click back into place and the water stopped.

I wrap my arms around myself, my long sleeve and sweats stuck to my body, holding all the cold water against me.

My teeth clanking against each other is the only sound I can hear. "Hello?" I yell, my voice now hoarse. "Someone please, help!" I say, feeling myself becoming overtaken by the cold.

They must have put something in front of the door, because it's not budging. I try on last time to push it open, using the last of my strength before sliding back to the bottom of the shower.

I remember watching a show where some guy and his wife got stuck in a blizzard, and the guy died because he fell asleep.

Because when you sleep your body temperature drops, so I can't sleep no matter how bad I want too.

My headache and shivers where only making things worse as my eyes start to fee extremely heavy.

No, stay awake.

"Help" I say, the cold seeping to my bones.

Just as I thought I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, they shot open as the door flung open.
