3 ~ Calum
"Calum." Someone shakes my shoulder, disturbing my peaceful slumber.
I groan, covering my face with my pillow. " Calum, get up and get ready for school before I kick your ass." Mali warns.
I roll over to look at her. "You wouldn't."
She raises and eyebrow, giving me a look that told me she wasn't playing around.
"Ugh fine, I'm up." I huff, rubbing my eyes. She gives me a smile. "Well, I'm off to work, see you later." She gives me a kiss on the cheek. (Which I rubbed off once she turned away) and left my room.
I pry myself from my bed and get dressed. Black skinnies, a black long sleeve and my sleeveless jean jacket. (A/N - picture attached, I love that outfit on him, not gonna lie) and my black vans.
I walk across the hall and tug on the bathroom, only to see that it's locked.
"Thomas, I need to finish getting ready!" I knock on the door. The door swings open to a disheveled Thomas.
His hair was all over the place, glasses bent to where they sat lopsided on his nose. His button down, only half buttoned and his shirt untucked.
I snort. "What the hell happened to you?" I lean against the door frame.
He huffs, shaking his head. " It's nothing, not that you would understand." He buttons up the rest of his shirt.
"What? Is little Thomas crying because he didn't make a 100?."
He sucks in a deep breath. "You know what Calum, go fuck your self." He pushes past me, my back digging into the wooden frame.
Surprised that he actually cussed, I watch him storm down stairs, grabbing his bag and slamming the front door.
Who pissed in his corn flakes?
I sigh, shaking off the thought, I have better things to worry about.
I fix up my hair and brush my teeth before going down stairs.
"Have a good day at school, son." My father says, more like warns.
I grab an apple, rolling my eyes as I bite into it. Slinging my book bag over my shoulder, I walk out the door.
Going to school my ass.
I look around to make sure my parents can't see me before I swiftly cut between our house and the neighbors and into the woods.
Who in there right mind actually enjoys school? Sometimes, I think Thomas does all that smart bullshit just to one up me.
I sigh, throwing the apple core over my shoulder. Listening to the steady rhythm of my shoes crunching the dead leaves, I start to see Michael's neighborhood through the trees.
Once I get out of the woods, I jog around the back of this house to the front, making sure his mom wasn't home.
I let out a breath of relief noticing her car was gone. I ring the door bell repeatedly until the door swung open.
"Who gave you the right to wake me up in such a way?" Michael glares at me, holding up his hand to block his eyes from the sun.
"And where's my pizza?".
"I didn't brin-"
That little shit just slammed the door in my face.
I huff, opening the door and letting myself in, to find him pouting, arms crossed on the couch.
"Mike." I poke his shoulder. He ignores me.
"Michael?" I shove him, harder this time. Nothing.
I sigh, leaning back into the couch. " well, I guess I won't be ordering us any pizza."
"Bitch, yes you will"

"So you wrote a song?" Ashton asks. I don't think he has much faith that this will be good.
Luke nods, smiling shyly. Luke was definitely all about music. He posted videos of himself doing covers before we even became a band.
"Sing us some of it?" I suggest, throwing away the empty pizza box.
He nods, picking up his guitar. He clears his voice before strumming the first cord.
"Even when the sky is falling down, even
when the earth is crumbling around my Feet.
Even when we try to say goodbye, you could cut the tension with a knife in here.
'cause I know what'll happen, if we get through this."
And if the earth ends up crumbling down to its knees, baby,
we just gotta get out.
We just gotta get out."
He stops. "That's, uh all I have so far." He scratches the back of his neck. "It's called Gotta get out"
"Oh my gosh, Luke that was Amazing!" Michael claps.
He blushes. "Really? I didn't think is was that good."
"Hey, play the melody again?" Ashton asks, getting behind the drums.
Luke start playing and Ash makes a beat that seems to go perfectly with it.
I grab my bass and pluck the stings, finding fitting cords that match Luke's.
"Guys. I think we can actually do this!" I smile. Luke gives me a high five. "Hell ya."
My phone rings, and I groan.
"what do you want Thomas? I'm busy." I snap.
"C-Calum? You have to come home. Right now. Dads extremely anergy." His voice shakes.
"Are you okay? Is he mad at you?" I plug my other ear to block out the boy's laughter.
"No, he's mad at you, well I guess me too, he's getting angered at everything." His voice drops to a low whisper. " you have to come home, please."
I run a hand through my hair. " okay, I'm coming"
"Hurry." He pled before he hung up.
I grab my back and rush out of the garage. "Calum! Where are you going?" Luke calls out to me.
"I have to go, I'll see you later." I yell before shutting the front door.
My stomach was flipping with worry. I've never herd Thomas' voice like that. Never.
I practically run through the forest, cursing when I tripped over a tree root.
My legs and lungs start to burn once I make back to our house. The door flies open just before I could touch the handle, making me Yelp in fear.
"Wait, Thomas!" I try to grab his shoulder, but he rushes past me, clearly upset.
Before I could go after him, I'm yanked inside by the hood of my jacket.
"You think it's fucking funny to skip school? " my dad presses me against the wall. He veins were popping, eyes blood shot with anger.
I shake me head. "I- "
"Do you know how many people came up to me today and asked why you've missed so much school? Word spreads quick around here boy, and with you fucking around, your mother won't get elected." He screams in my face.
I glance over to my mother, hoping she'd help me. But she just watched, anger evident in her eyes also.
The realization that she was on his side caused a lump to form in the back of my throat. Sure, I've done wrong, but she was going to let him do this to me?
"You will not drag our family name down, you hear me son?" My dad raises his hand back and I took this as my opportunity to run.
Dashing upstairs, I make it to my room, locking the door just before he could grab me.
I take in shaky breaths. I felt like the main character in a horror movie that just escaped the monster or whatever it was.
My dad bangs on the door, demanding I open up, but everything was muffled. I can't think.
I slide open my window and pull myself on the roof once more.
Hugging my legs to my chest, I look out at the neighborhood. The night itself always seems to calm me down. The stars, crickets, everything.
Something a few houses down catches my eye.
It's the silhouette of a girl, illuminated by the street light beside the roof she was dancing on.
I watch her move. It was hypnotizing. Her ballet was perfect as far as I could tell.
I felt my self shivering, but don't give a damn. All I care about right now, is the mystery Dancer a few houses down.
