"—Literally all they say is 'oh my god, you're so cute' or 'you're so adorable'" Chloe rolled her eyes, scoffing. Kellin shrugged.
"I'm sorry? I don't know why they say it but they find me cute so it shouldn't be a problem. Right?" Kellin asked. Chloe rolled her eyes again, chewing on the green straw of her empty Starbucks sweet tea cup.
Kellin looked at Chloe in a jokingly matter while Chloe made up her face in fake disgust. They both laugh without a reason.
Kellin and Chloe had been friend since they were a day old. This was because their moms are best friends since they were a day old and since then, they promised their kids (they both thought they were give birth to daughters) to be best friends; and that's exactly what happened but one turned out to be a male. But it all worked out since he was gay and into more girly stuff—most of the time.
Chloe was kind of the same instead she didn't wear much skirts, instead she wore much skinny jeans and tank tops.
Kellin wasn't necessarily a cross-dresser but he wore a lot of feminine colored clothing (his favorite is his pastel pink sweater with a milk carton on the front with bubble letters that arc around it spelling the words 'cry baby'. [inspired by his favorite artist Melanie Martinez])
"I'm by far the cutest out of this friendship" She joked. "Check how many likes you have now." She urged. Kellin rolled his eyes.
"I just posted 3 minutes—" he said not bothering to take out his phone from his pocket.
"Okay and? Let's see how many likes you got in 3 minutes" She said over-excitedly. "Oh and check if your lover boy liked your picture again"
Kellin blushed and shook his head. "That was one time. He's popular on social media, I'm not. What are the chances for him to see me account ever again?" Kellin questioned with doubt. Chloe huffed, talking Kellin's phone away from his pocket, punching in his 4-digit password.
"He was totally stalking your account though. He liked your picture from 8 weeks ago!" She smiled.
"He probably just saw it on the "post you might like" I mean, they post stuff from way back right?"
"Doubt it" she answered in a monotone voice as her best friend was in denial.
Kellin has been crushing on this popular social media guy for a long time and it is one of the many thing he talks about besides Instagram, shopping, and Melanie Martinez.
Both Kellin and Chloe sat outside in a nearby park where barely kids were seen and it wasn't far from Kellin's home.
She clicked on his Instagram app, using her other hand as a shield to correctly see the screen of the iPhone.
"Um, you have 797 likes right now. New record?"
Kellin shrugged, "I still don't understand why you wanted to che—"
"He liked again" She interrupted with over-excitement. "He's totally into you" She said in white-girls voice, flipping the flocks of her brunette hair off her shoulder.
"It's just a simple like." He blushed mainly talking to himself so he wouldn't freak out as bad as his best friend.
"Guess what?" She smiled. Kellin wasn't up for what she had going on.
"Can we go inside? I'm starting to sweat under my sweater, it's too hot for this" Kellin groaned, getting up from te old wooden park bench. He stretched out his muscles and started walking over on the sidewalk, not waiting on Chloe.
Chloe whined.
"You didn't guess!" Chloe yelled from the bench, sipping on her tea.
"I don't need too!" He said without looking back. Chloe, once again, rolled her eyes and got off the bench a while after, following Kellin to his house.
"You have follow from your lover boy"
"That's not working on me again Chloe. Nice try" He mumbled, feeling his cheeks get hot.
Chloe giggled even though she was telling the truths
As they both reached to Kellin's house, Kellin bent over under the door mat to find a spare key. Once he opened the door, a cool breeze hit the both causing them to shudder and the yelped at the sudden touch.
"Yikes, who left the A/C on?" Chloe commented, rubbing her forearms. Kellin shrugged, walking up the stairs to his room.
They both flopped onto his bed.
"Look" Chloe shoved Kellin's phone in his face to show him to notification of where the "lover boy" followed Kellin.
Kellin heart started racing.
"No way." Kellin gasped in shocked. Kellin then narrowed his eyes. "Fake account? Photoshop? What did you do?" He questioned.
Chloe busted out laughing. "I'm dead serious Kellin! Isn't this what you wanted? Why aren't you screaming?"
"I'm trying so hard not too" He closed his eyes, laying on his back with a huge smile.
"So what now?" She asked. Kellin shrugged, unsure of what she meant. "He's so into you"
"He is not! He probably followed by mistake."
Chloe scoffed, "Just like he likes your photo from 8 weeks ago?" He was deadass stalking your account." She said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Kellin shook his head.
"I need proof" he joked.
The next morning after Chloe left to go home Kellin took his phone just to see if the love of his life (not exactly, more like overreacting) had actually followed him. He covered his mouth as he physically saw that it was true.
In honesty, Kellin didn't want to show his excitement in front of his best friend so he screamed rather loudly in his room. A short while after his mom came rushing into his room.
"What? What happened? Are you okay?" She bombarded him with questions. She calmed down once she saw the big smile plastered on his face.
"What happened?"
"Remember that guy I showed you last time and I said he was really cute?" He said and his mom nodded in confusion.
"Well he followed my on Instagram yesterday!" He said as if he was in cloud 9.
His mom giggled and shook her head, exiting his room, also causing Kellin to giggled as well.
Kellin then went on Vic's —the lover boy— account and started scrolling down his profile for probably the 100th time for the week.
"How can someone be that cute and hot at the same time?" Kellin thought with a smile still on his face.
"How can someone this beautiful can even follow someone like me?" He thought again with self-doubt.
Kellin shrugged off his thoughts as he got out of bed to get ready for his day. It was currently 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning.
Kellin did his daily routine as of changing out of his pajamas, brushing his teeth, then fixing his hair. His hair took the longest out of the three, mostly because it's long (shoulder length) and he can never get his hair unknotted with the cheap comb he bought from the dollar store.
After many attempts, he gave up and continued on with his day by going downstairs.
"Mom?" He called out.
She replied, "Yes? If you're wondering, your breakfast is on the dinner table and Chloe called."
"Like always," Kellin muttered and chuckled, "is she coming over?"
Kellin's mom hummed in response, "The door is open for her also". That was enough to satisfy Kellin so he trailed along to the dinner table where his food was left, still steaming.
Kellin mouth watered at the sight and instantly sat down in the chair.
"The princess has arrived!" Chloe yelled from the front door. Kellin and his mom both jokingly groaned. Chloe laughed at their responses.
The first thing she did was hug Kellin's mom, then walked over to where she spotted Kellin.
"Just woke up?" She asked. Kellin shrugged, "about an hour ago" Chloe nodded.
"So what are we doing tonight?" Chloe asked, checking her Twitter notifications. Kellin shrugged, eating his scrambled eggs.
Chloe looked up at him and sighed. "We can go to the carnival?" She suggested. Kellin shook his head, "too many people from school will be there and I have homework to do"
Chloe laid her phone on the table and groaned. "You and your homework" she rolled her eyes.
"Sorry that I want my education," he giggled, taking another bite out of his breakfast. "Ask your mom to come over so we can have a double sleepover again"
"What? Are you crazy? My mom?" She shrieked and looked at Kellin as if he was crazy.
He shrugged, "I like that idea" he mumbled. He got up with the empty plate in his hand and handed it to his mom since she was already doing the dishes.
He walked back to Chloe.
"Alright, I texted her" Chloe groaned. Kellin giggled and shook his head. He loved Chloe's mom and he loved how her mom bonded with his mom so well. Well, I mean, they were friends since day one so he would assume this would happen—and he's grateful of having a best friend from his mom's best friend.
Kellin walked to his room with Chloe trailing behind him.
"Redecorated?" She asked and he nodded.
Kellin's room was his room the house—not because it was his room. It was his favorite because they way the atmosphere is and the vibes it gives off.
His walls were painted white. His bed sheets was a soft pink color and his two pillows were white and it had black writings prints on it. The left one had the words 'lol' written on it and the on the right had the writings 'ily' on it.
Next to his bed was a small white dresser with a red colored lamp and a picture of him, Chloe, and both their moms at a fairground with facepainting on them and cotton candy in their hands with huge smiles.
He also had a bigger dresser, acrossed from his bed that had a mirror and a couple more family/friend photos on them.
His walk in closet was a soft pink and white color with his favorite clothing in them. (The drawer is mostly for clothes for wearing in the house).
He had a bean-bag chair and all the fancy stuff. And well,
Lets just say that his room is huge and very aesthetic-like
Chloe walked over to the picture-framed photo and picked it up with a smile.
"You still have this?" She asked.
"Have what?" Kellin asked unaware of what Chloe is holding. He looked over his shoulder and cooed when he saw what she was holding.
"Yeah I found it under my bed while cleaning. Don't know how it got there" he said examining the picture with a smile. This photo was probably two years old.
Chloe set back the picture on dresser and belly-jumped onto Kellin's bed.
"Did lover boy make a move yet?" She questioned.
Kellin face reddened as he threw his phone on his bed,
"A what? M-move? On me? No what makes you think that?" Kellin stuttered over his words.
Chloe giggled, "say cheese" she said.
Kellin lifted his head and and held up the peace sign, "cheeeeeese!" He exclaimed. They both laughed after when the picture was taken.
"You look so cute!" Chloe said, "posted it on Instagram and tagged you so I can get more likes. Have you noticed that? I get more likes when you're involved in my pictures." Chloe laughed.
"That's just says I'm the better friend" Kellin joked.
Chloe groaned,
"Mom texted me back. She said we're sleeping over for the week if that's fine"
"It's totally fine, yeah of course. Go and pack your clothes, I'll be here" Kellin urged. Chloe sighed and groaned. She got up said her goodbyes even though she coming back in an hour or two.
Kellin phoned light up but he paid no attention to it. He assumed it was another message from a girl either complimenting his looks or his feed.
He started taking out his math homework and started working in factoring since he's in algebra 2.
To him, it was fairly easy and he went through it like it was nothing. His other home works was the same—easy.
When he was done with those, he laid like a starfish on his bed, laying with boredom.
After a while his text message notifications went off drastically, he took up his phone in fright.
All of them were from Chloe telling him to check his Instagram.
In curiosity, he checked it.
Scrolling down his notification tab he saw that, like always, many people liking and commenting on his pictures so he didn't see what the fuss was about so he texted Chloe.
Kellin: what?
Chloe: yOu DIDNT SEE IT UET?!:$2 CHECK YOUR MOST R CENT COMMENTS
Kellin: calm down oh my god
And Kellin obeyed. He clicked on his lasted picture and started scrolling up for the comments. Once he saw he dropped his phone on his bed and screamed.
No way, he thought.
Vic just commented: "you're really cute" on his picture.
Kellin had so many emotions going through him. He wanted to scream, cry, throw up, and probably just dance around in his room.
His heart was pounding as he went to go text Chloe.
Kellin: NO WYAHDJSKSJ WHAT
Chloe: I TOLD YOU HE WAS INTO YOU
Kellin: HE IS NOT HE JUST CALELD ME CUTE THATS ALL
Chloe: DELUSIONAL
Kellin: STOP IT I WANNA CRY WHAT DO I DO NOW
Chloe: gET YOUR MAN I WILL BE OVER IN A BIT
Kellin: OKAY
Kellin locked his phone with a huge smile on his face. He felt like screaming again. He went to go reread Vic's comment and die.
While at it, he went to go check his messages since they were piling up. He went to thank the people who congratulated him for getting a comment from Vic.
His blood ran cold after seeing one particular message.
@piercethevic: hi you're really cute
