First Shots Fired
I woke to yells and crunching of sticks under someone's feet. They sounded like they were running and getting close, "Over here!" Someone yelled. I must have fell over in my sleep because I was laying on my side with Frisk wrapped in my arms. She had her hands over mine. Everyone was awake and staring out of the well hidden cave. The footsteps started to grow until it sounded like 100's of people were storming the area. I squeezed in between Asgore and Toriel to see what was going on. The shouts and yells were dangerously close now, "What's going on?" Someone clapped their hand over my mouth. Undyne looked down and me shook her head no. She must have wanted me to be quite. I bit her hand and she hit me across the head. Asshole she mouthed. She frowned and looked back to the crowd in black jackets. Rebel traitors. Chara. We waited for about an hour for the crowd to pass. It was obvious that they were looking for someone. Probably us, then as the crowd was thinning I saw hostages that were on our side. Frisk's friends, I turned to see if she was looking and tried to hide it but she already saw it. She held her stomach and pressed her back against the wall sliding down it until she hit the ground. She stared blankly into the embers of the previously burning fire. They were supposed to meet at Alphys Laboratories. Chara had to have been waiting and then took them. No army no war. We loose. We had to get the humans and monsters back. She had a good tactic.

After we were sure everyone passed us Undyne looked and me and clenched her jaw, she snickered, "Asriel put some pants on we need to get going." I looked down and realized I was in my black shirt and underwear. I felt heat rushing to my face and ran to Frisk who was grinning with my jeans in her hands. I snatched them from her and slipped them on quickly. "I don't even remember taking my jeans off!" I felt the redness draining from my face but I put my head in my hands and groaned. Frisk walked over to me and stood in her toes, then she fit her mouth to mine. "Don't be so embarrassed.. I think you look cute that way." Out of the corner of my eye I saw my mom staring and us like she was just realizing Frisk is used to seeing me in my underwear at night. I spoke quickly, "Before anything else happens lets get going and see where Chara's army is going..." I stopped and spoken quietly, "And find how many loyalists are still alive." I pushed though the vines and walked out of the cave. Then suddenly I felt a hand go over my mouth and an arm hit me in the back of the head. I tried to yell but nothing came out. My vision went black around the corners. I bit the hand and clenched down harder when I tasted blood. Someone screamed in pain and tore their hand from my mouth. I could only think of all the people who were going to be hurt because of us. All the people who were going to be dead or dying. When I had the chance I instinctively hit the person in the face with my elbow. They fell back and their black hood fell with it. Who ever it was hit their head and went out cold. Frisk who was trying to get to me ran to my side. Why didn't she help when I was being attacked. I turned to her and then realized blood was trickling down her face and into her shirt. Behind her a monster lay knocked out like my attacker. "Asriel." She said quietly. Frisk's knees starting to bend and she fell forward. I ran and caught we in my arms. She hit her chin off my elbow so I jumped. "Frisk." I shook her. Her eyes didn't open, "Frisk wake up." I set her gently on the ground and put my ear to her chest. No sound. Then relief filled my chest when I heart her slow but steady heart beat. I thought back to a few days ago when Frisk saved me from all the times I was about to die. It was my turn to save her. I put my finger under her nose and felt no breath. She wasn't breathing? How? Was she choking? I frantically scanned Frisk to see what was wrong with Frisk. Something caught my eye on her throat. Purple thumb marks. That rebel must have squeezed her throat so hard she couldn't breathe. I looked around to find one someone who could help but there was no one. In the distance there were yells and grunts from someone struggling. In the ground there were trails of blood and feet marks like my family and friends were being dragged to their death. I had to help Frisk on my own. She just needed to breath long enough until we found someone to help us. "I've can't believe I'm doing this." I mumbled. I've never given someone mouth to mouth before so I had little idea of what I was doing. I pressed my lips to her and struggled to get Frisk to breath. It was hard to at first but then Frisk let out a small breath but it was enough for me to notice. I kept going. Frisk coughed and took small breaths. It was a start but it would keep her alive for so long. I lifted Frisk and slung her over my back. Her weight sunk into me but it wasn't enough to make me struggle, "Please hold on." I squeezed my eyes shut and started into the darker depths of the thick woods. I made sure to follow the trails of blood and footprints. The blood eventually disappeared so I had to rely on the faint shapes of feet to guide me. In the bushes animals jumped along and rustled in the trees and the wind mixed with silence made the scene creepier. I looked up hoping to see light but the tree branches were grown together and blocked any kind of light. A thick layer of cold wet leaves protected my feet from sticks and rocks. I breathed heavily as I ran at a steady pace. I couldn't breath and I couldn't go any farther. I dropped Frisk and fell over next to her. I thought back to when I laid next to Frisk watching the stars in the woods. When we would go home peacefully and fall asleep. This was nothing like then. I was in pain and was slowly passing out. I slowly closed my eyes and made a weak fist with my hand. Frisk wheezed beside me. Hope filled my body when I heard Frisk croak, "Asriel." I opened my eyes and turned my head to her. "Frisk." I laughed gently and smiled at her. She didn't smiled back. She cried, tears rolled down her face. "Asriel I'm sorry. You need to do this even if it means leaving me alone." She started to take slower breath with more of a struggle. "What. What do you mean Frisk." I bit my lower lip, "Please don't tell me I have to leave your side." I clenched my jaw and held back tears. "Listen to me Dreemurr." She must have been serious if she used my last name like that. "Take me to the traitor base. I need to act like a traitor. I need medical help." I wanted to hurl at the thought of her alone in a place full of traitors. "No" I said sternly. She grabbed my shirt, "I'm going if you like it or not!" She stared me in the eyes. "If I don't get help now I'll suffocate. Take me and I'll meet up with you. Find the others." She closed her eyes. "I... I love you." She kissed. Her kiss got weaker and weaker until she fell into my arms. I caught her and held her in my arms. The blood that ran down her neck was now dried so she looked hurt bad. I carried her towards the sound of voices. We needed to be close by. In the distance I saw an abandoned building, it must have been cleaned overnight. The brick building was black against the sunset casting shadows on the ground. Behind me there were quiet footsteps. "Imposter. Put your hands up." The voice was feminine. I grit my teeth and swung around ready to fight. I charged with Frisk still in my arms. I froze when I realized who was in the black rebel jacket. "Mom?" I said my voice a whisper. "Asriel. Give me Frisk and I'll take her in. I had a feeling you'd come here." She said trying not to be heard by a traitor. "I'll try to sneak her in as a rebel. You need to help the others. Third floor. Memorize this pattern." She spoke quieter. "Left Right Right Left." I ran the words through my head, "I know you don't want to let her go but I'll promise to keep her safe." I was hesitant to put Frisk in my mothers arms but my loving innocents mom wouldn't do anything to hurt her. "Don't let her out of your sight." My throat was tight and I slowly set Frisk in her arms. She nodded and took of towards the metal doors of the brick building, "Be careful." I whispered my eyes locked onto Frisk. I went to turn but a sharp pain went through my head. Someone me as hard as they could in the jaw making it go numb. I fell to my knees and put my arms out trying to catch myself. The world started spinning and everything turned either Red, Blue, or Green. I wanted to stand but I couldn't move. I don't want to die. Is all I could think over and over until I was screaming it in my head, I DON'T WANT TO DIE! A boot hit me in the head and I could only stay conscious long enough to look back and see the figure. "Papyrus?" Then my head hit the ground.

I woke up on a cement floor. I sat up but wanted to lay back down and never wake up. Mom was with Frisk and I was alone. My head was killing me. "Ug Fuck!" I swore under my breath. My blood stained the cement. I tried to stand up by double-vision kicked in and the world flopped sideways. I fell hard onto my butt and kicked my feet into the air. When they fell back down I stared at them. At the end on my feet I noticed a yellowed price of paper. I pulled it into reach of my hand with my foot. The writing was neat but I could barley make out the words from my vision. A guard will be back to collect to to see me at 7:15 exactly. -Chara. Anger filled me and I ripped the paper to shreds throwing it across the room. What does "see me" mean especially when you're talking about Chara. I looked at the cement block walls and out the metal bars that moonlight shone trough. Directly above it an old circular glass clock was hung on the wall. 6:15. An hour before I'm "Collected" An hour of suffering. "Dreemurr." I turned my head painfully to the side. A full black metal armor stood behind the bars of the jail cell. He held a syringe full of an orange liquid. He noticed me staring at it doubtfully, "Pain killer." He beckoned me to come over. I turned back furrowing my eyebrows and stared at the ceiling crossing my arms, "I have permission to hurt or even kill you if you don't obey so I don't want your attitude ESPECIALLY coming from you." He said. I grunted as loudly as I could and painfully moved to the cold metal bars. "Give it to me." I held out my hand and expected him to give me the syringe. "I want to do it myself." I said sternly pushing out the face I was hurt. "I'll let you do it this time but I will NOT take your attitude and teenage sass." I whipped my head around and grabbed the bars, "Teenage Sass?!" I rolled my eyes like he was being ridiculous. "Ha! I don't have sass." I grit my teeth and snatched the syringe. "Be careful it's very powerful." He said as I pushed the needle into my neck. "You only need a little. It will make you tired and weaker but it will help." I don't know how I knew how to do it but I successfully put the needle and a small amount of liquid in my neck. "You'll need a little more than that." He said, "Oh yeah? I don't want to be tired." I said. The guard crossed his arms. "Why's that?" I got a grip on the needle. "So I can do this!" I stabbed the needle into his neck where the head piece and chest plate connect and pressed all the liquid into his neck before he could react. "Why did you do that! It... It" He got droopy and yawned but tried to pull himself together. "It..
Works.. Fast..." He collapsed his metal armor clanking against the ground with a loud bang and crash. He was right it did work fast. All my pain was melting. I noticed a gold light reflect near the guards hip. The keys. I crouched down and snatched it from him. It took me a few tried but I found the key that fit my jail cell and unlocked it. I laughed hysterically and stepped over the guard and ran down the hallway. If I remembered correctly and was right I would have to remember my moms directions backward. At full speed sprint down the long hallway. The walls were white brick and the blue light tinted them the same color. My footsteps were loud against the stone ground but I didn't care, "Frisk here I come." I ran into the sound of voices.
