Chapter 9
Today, you and Phil are going to take the bus to a coffee shop.
You wake up, grab a bag, get dressed, brush your teeth and walk down the stairs towards the front door.
"Where do you think you're going, Y/N?" Your father blocks your exit.
"Out." You tell him.
"You know you're on lockdown. Go back to your room." He demands.
"No. Move." You attempt to push past him, but he won't budge.
"Go to your room." Your father orders.
"No!"
"Go! Now!"
"No! Ow!"
Your father slaps you across the face and pushes you over onto the hard wooden floor.
"Room. Now."
...........................................................................
Y/N:
Sorry m8, I can't come meet you 2day.
Phil:
It's np. We can meet up another time.
Y/N:
How about tonight?
Phil:
What time?
Y/N:
1am?
Phil:
Wouldn't your parents go mental if you're out at that time?
Y/N:
I'm not planning on telling them.
Phil:
You sure? I don't want to be the cause of you getting into trouble.
Y/N:
I'm sure, they won't find out. Meet me at the main entrance to the woods.
Phil:
No way. I'm not letting you walk alone at that time, especially past the pubs. There's lots of drunk ppl.
Y/N:
K then. Meet me at my back garden? I'll climb the fence.
Phil:
Sounds like a plan. Ttyl.
Y/N:
Bye.
"Hey, Y/N?" Abigail knocks on your door, opening it at the same time.
"Yeah?" You turn your phone off and face her.
"Why do you and Darren never talk to each other?"
"Because I don't really ever want to talk to him."
"Well we're going to fix that! The two of you barely know each other. No wonder you're ready to fuck that Phil guy."
"Hey!"
Abigail grabs your phone and shoves it in her pocket, then turns to the doorway. "DARREN!"
"What are you doing?" You ask in a slight whisper.
"Getting you and Darren to be in love." She tells you.
"What is it?" Darren asks, standing in the door way.
Abigail grabs the key to your door before walking by him, pushing him farther into the room and grabbing his phone from him before shutting the door.
"What the fuck Abigail!" You and Darren both run over and bang on the door as Abigail locks it shut.
"You guys have to get along! Not just like acquaintances... like a couple! Like you're ready to have children with each other!" Abigail shouts from the other side of the door.
"Ew." You roll your eyes.
"Don't you dare say 'ew' Y/F/N! You know that it's going to happen! Now, I'm going to leave you two in here for a couple hours... and there better have been at least three kisses by the time I get back!"
"Abigail I swear to god if you don't open this goddamn door right now! Y/N, why are you laughing?" Darren asks after you giggle.
"No reason." You wave it off and bang on the door again. "Open up!"
"No! I'm leaving now!"
You hear Abigail walking down the pristine hall.
"GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!"
.....................................................................................
"Nice room you got here." Darren says, breaking the silence that had been lasting for like an hour or so as Darren looked at himself in the mirror and you finding various ways to amuse yourself.
"Yeah..."
Darren walks over and investigates the flower you got from Phil.
"Where'd you get this?" He asks.
"From a friend." You tell him.
"Well that friend must really hate you..."
"What do you mean?"
"This flower is ugly as fuck."
"No it's not."
"Yes it is. Where would you ever find this?"
"It's rare."
"That makes it weird."
"No it doesn't. It makes it unique. I think it's beautiful."
"Well, I don't."
"To each their own then."
"True." Darren sighs and sits back down beside you. "So, tell me more about yourself. What's your favourite movie?"
"*insert favourite movie here*"
"Really? I've seen that. It's alright."
"You actually think something isn't terrible?"
"Yeah."
"Well uh.. what other movies do you think are 'alright'?"
"Not much other. I'm actually a massive movie critic."
"No surprise there." You laugh.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You just seem to hate everything that isn't you... or expensive."
"I mean... that's not a total lie... but I can like other things."
"Like what?"
"Uh... there are some people that I don't completely hate... like my mother... and..."
"I'm going to guess that I didn't make the cut."
"Hey, I don't completely hate you. I was actually fine with the way we communicated before this."
"I was too. We just didn't get in each other's way... and we just seemed to have a mutual understanding."
"Yeah. It's been great."
"It really has, cause it's much better than if... say one of us loved the other, but the other hated the person who loves them. Heh... imagine if that happened."
"Yeah..."
You hear the door unlocking and Abigail bursts in.
"That's all I wanted!" She tells the two of you.
"Huh?"
"I just wanted you guys to get along. Finally! Now, kiss!"
"No."
"Cmon, you'll have to do it at the wedding. Kiss!"
"No!"
"Kiss or I'm not giving your phones back."
You and Darren both quickly share an awkward kiss, which makes you feel the need to gag.
The two of you obviously don't care for each other, and despite the fact that you acted like you don't despise him, you really do.
This was the least self-centred you had ever seen him, yet he still spend half the time checking himself out in the mirror.
"There you go." Abigail smiles and hands you and Darren your phones back. Darren gets up and exits swiftly, happy that he's got his phone back.
"Why the fuck did you do that Abi?" You ask.
"Because you need to fall in love with Darren."
"Also, why did you let us out so early?"
"Because you guys were finally getting along!"
"And..?"
"And dinner's ready."
"Fucking knew it."
Hey guys, sorry for not updating on Friday, something depressing happened and I'm not wanting to explain it again.
I didn't proof read this chapter, so it may be super shit but I shall not know.
Also, I didn't update on Monday bc I'm changing the schedule. I shall be updating this book on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays; Monday is now becoming the optional day as it is typically the busiest day of the week for me.
So, yeah...
Bye lads!
