Seven
Morning.
Texas.
As she heard those words her heart began to disintegrate bit by bit, hypothetically speaking although it fell like it really was. Dropping her phone was the least of her troubles. She leaned over on the couch balling her eyes out. This had to be another scheme of Olivia's right? She really hoped that it was. Then again, Nick had been disappearing to New York claiming it was work related when it was not.
"Selena.." Irene called. She had walked in to see her hunched over the couch as she sobbed. No answer. "Selena what happened?" She asked. She eased her way back up to a straight position. She sniffed and wiped her tears. "I think Nick cheated on me." She said. Irene looked at her not knowing what to say. Denise strolled into the room not knowing the current situation. She noticed Selena's red puffy eyes and knew something was up.
"What's the matter?" She asked. "Nick cheated." She sniffed. "He told you?" Denise asked. Selena quickly looked up. "No, he didn't tell me. You knew?" She asked a bit angered. "I'm sorry Selena, I thought he'd tell you by now." She sighed. Selena shook her head and stormed upstairs to her room. The two women looked at each other well concerned and followed behind her. They walked in to see Selena throwing clothes into a small carry-on suitcase. "Selena what are you doing?" Denise asked worriedly. "I have to go to New York." She said then went into the bathroom to fetch her toothbrush and other things.
"Are you sure you want to do that Selena?" Irene asked. "Yes, I'm bringing the twins." She answered as she zipped the suitcase. "Don't do this Selena you're a new mother, you're supposed to be here taking care of the twins." Denise said. "And Nick's supposed to be here too but he's not. He's been too busy not caring about me or the twins." She cried. Denise sighed as she saw the pain in her eyes. "At least keep the twins here, I'll watch them." Denise said. Selena nodded in agreement and grabbed her purse. "Just feed them formula until I get back. I have to see if there's any available flights." She said sighing. "Okay." Denise said.

"They said they'll mail our bill." Nick said as he entered. After that petty phone call Olivia quickly made her way back into the bed, the way Nick had left her. "Great." She smiled. He said then grabbed his phone and checked it. He wondered if Selena had called him but it there were no missed calls. He badly missed Selena and the twins.
Knock Knock
"Wonder who that could be." He said. Nick put his phone in his back pocket and went to open the door. "Blanda?" Nick asked. "Yeah, hi." She said then walked in. "How did you find me here?" He asked. "Hello, you also have your work phone on you, I can track it." She said. "Oh right." He chuckled.
"Listen I came her to tell you to stop lying to Selena." Blanda said. "You couldn't have tell me that on the phone?" He asked. She sighed and held her hands. "Look I'm not telling you this as a friend, I'm telling you this as a woman that has gone through this so many times." She said. He stuck his hands into his pockets and nodded. "I've dealt with a lot of assholes Nick, and I know you're not like them. Selena deserves better from you." She told him. "Yeah and so do I?" Olivia pitched in.
"Shut up I was not talking to you bitch." Blanda glared at her. "Excuse me? Nicky are you going to let her talk to me like that?" She gasped. Nick sighed and touched Blanda's arm. "Look I get what you're saying but it doesn't give you a right to talk to her like that." He said. "Get your head out of her ass Nick and wake up." She snapped her fingers. "Blanda.." He warned. She looked at him and scoffed. "Can't say I didn't warn you Nick." She said before leaving.
He sighed and turned to Olivia. "Sorry about that." He apologized. "You let your employees talk to you like that? If I were you I'd fire her." She said. But he disagreed shaking his head no. "She's my friend." He said. "But you'd let her talk to me like that?" She said folding her arms. "Olivia stop, I already have enough on my plate, okay." He said in frustration. "Would you let her talk to our child like that?" She asked rubbing her belly. Nick sighed deeply. "I'll be right back." He said.
He really needed to clear his head. He took a long walk around New York. He even stopped to grab some food at his favorite diner. He took a stroll in the park and thought long and hard. As he sat on the park bench he saw a lot of people come and go. He saw an old couple that fed the ducks. He saw a couple of teenagers up to no good. He saw a happy couple holding hands as their two kids followed behind. That dawned on him. Nick wanted to go back to being like that couple. To being a family with his beautiful children. That was when he finally made his decision. After it was time to leave the hospital, he'd go home and tell Selena everything that really happened. He didn't want to keep this horrible secret from her any longer. He wanted a healthy relationships with no secrets and no lies.
He checked his watch to see that time had gone by. It was around four o'clock in the afternoon. Boy he was going to hear Olivia bitch about how long he'd been away. He hailed a taxi cab and made his way back to the hospital. Nick paid the driver and made his way into the building. He walked up the flight of stairs as usually and made his way into the hospital room.
"Sorry I've been gone for so long, I just needed to clear my head." He said closing the door behind him. He looked up to see the woman he loved standing beside the woman he used to love. "Selena.." He said with panic in his voice. He examined her face. Her eyes were red and puffy, her cheeks had stained tears, and she looked tired. The same state she was in when he last left her. She began to form tears as she shook her head at him. "Is she pregnant with your baby?" She asked. Nick stood dumbfounded not knowing what single word to say.
