Thunder

A loud thunder pierces through the dark night sky.
"How can Dan sleep through this?" you think to yourself, grasping on a pillow.
Ever since you were little, thunderstorms terrified you.
Astraphobia - the fear of thunder or lightning.
Dan was dead sleep since he could sleep through the apocalypse, so you were left with your thoughts.
"Dan," you whisper, shaking him gently.
Nothing.
"Dan!" you whisper desperately as another thunder roared through the night.
Still nothing.
Giving up, you continued grasping your pillow, terrified.
Involuntarily, you scream when lighting flickered across the gray clouds.
"Y/N?" Dan asked sleepily. You immediately cover your mouth, realizing you screamed.
He turned over, his hobbit hair covering his face. "You alright?"
All you could do is shake your head. He sat up, reaching out his arm.
Catching his drift, you shift over closer to him. He holds you, your nerves calming.
"What happened? Another nightmare?"
You shook your head again. Even though you felt a bit calmer, words still couldn't come out.
Thunder boomed again, this time making a streak of lighting in sync with it. All of this was too overwhelming, your stifled tears rolling down your cheeks.
"Hey, hey, hey," Dan whispered, frantically wiping away your tears. "You're alright."
Have you ever had a moment where you were crying, and you couldn't stop? You wanted you, you just couldn't? Or is that just me? Yeah, probably just me.
He rubbed your arm, calming you down as before. Finally, the thunder stopped, your crying ceasing as well.
"The worst is over I reckon," he said pulling you into a hug. You hug back, a small smile appearing on your face.
Crying can make you so tired, oml. Seriously, I can take 3 hour naps after crying. I'm emotional, I know. I should also shut up, shouldn't I? 😂
You rest your head on your wrinkled pillow, your eyes feeling heavy.
"Goodnight," he whispered kissing your forehead.
"Goodnight," you reply slowly falling asleep.
Before you knew it, you were falling asleep to the rain pelting on the window and Dan's heartbeat.
