First Date
+* did i already use this picture? oh well, it's a good picture so shh. *+
"Do I look alright?" you ask Zoe, fixing your outfit. It always seems like something is off.
"You look great Y/N! Stop stressing out. Now here," she replies, handing you your phone. "Someone texted you."
You unlock your phone and scan through the text message.
"He'll be here in five minutes," you alert Zoe, dropping your phone on your bed.
"Okay. I'm almost done with your hair," she replied. You sat on the edge of the bed anxiously, still worrying about your date.
First dates are the worst dates for you. They always end up awkward, creepy, or flat out boring.
"I'm so excited for you," Zoe said excitedly, brushing your hair.
"Glad you are," you say sarcastically. "I'm practically dreading it."
"Lighten up. It'll be great. If it's not, remember, I'm your escape route," she reminded you.
You would text her when to call you, and she would make up a full fledged story to make you leave the date. (got this from The Gabbie Show lmao) That was the escape route.
Suddenly, you hear knocking on the door.
"He's here!" Zoe exclaimed rushing downstairs. She was probably more excited than you.
You take a deep breath, calming yourself just a bit.
"C'mon Y/N! Don't leave your date waiting!" Zoe yelled from downstairs.
"Alright!" you yell back, heading downstairs.
Every step you took down the stairs built more anxiety.
Reaching the end, you finally see the person you've been talking to at Starbucks, but as a date.
"Dan," you say smiling.
He smiles back. "Nice to see you again, Y/N."
"Why is he acting so different around Zoe?" you think to yourself.
"You two better head out before the café closes!" Zoe said basically pushing you out the door.
"You look nice," he compliments you.
"Yeah? Well, I spent a while, well, Zoe spent a while picking it out. It took FOREVER to find my shoes!" you ramble. "Nothing matched."
He laughs. "You have an whole story for a compliment, don't you?"
You nod. "Why wouldn't I?"
"I don't know, but I digress. Let's get to the café before it closes, I suppose," he replies walking down the staircase. You follow.
Walking down the pavement, you admire London's weather. Crisp air, flowers lining the pavement, bustling people and cars making their ways to their destinations. Just great.
"There it is," Dan points towards a tiny shop.
"Really?" you ask surprised. You'd expect the café to be a bit bigger, but oh well.
He nods, leading you with him to the shop.
Stepping in, the scent of scones, croissants, and freshly ground coffee filled your senses.
"Over here," he says walking to a table. It was a window seat looking over the busy street.
You both chat, realizing you didn't order.
"Oh, we should probably order," you speak up.
"Oh! Yeah, we should," he agreed smiling.
You both get up and order your steamy drinks, quickly returning to your seats.
"Thanks for reminding me," Dan said looking out the window. You nod, creating an awkward silence.
So it's going to be an awkward first date this time, huh?
As you were looking at the shop beside the one your were in, you notice Dan drawing something on the foggy glass.
"What are you drawing?" you ask laughing.
"You'll see," he replied, continuing his drawing.
You noticed it's a heart with your name in it.
"That's so sweet," you laugh.
He blushes, making you smile. First dates aren't that bad after all.
