Courting & Red Roses
"Alright, let's eat!" Owen clapped his hands together as he licked his lips. He walked toward the huge bowl of food.
Odette walked in front of him with her hands at her hips. "Not yet."
He immediately frowned. "W-what? We're all here!"
"Not everyone." Olivia brought up with a mischievous smirk on her face.
"Oh crap." Elliot knew that face. "What did you do?"
That's when Riley walked down the stairs, she was in a sky blue dress. It was perfect for her, the dress flowed nicely making her look youthful but not too young. Her hair was curled with the some of it pulled back so that her bright blue eyes could be seen. Her make up was simple, Odette and Olivia wanted to make sure her natural beauty out shined everything else.
"Why are you dressed like that?" Elliot grimaced once he looked at sister.
Before she could answer the door bell rang and she skipped happily to the door but before she opened it she turned to everyone. "Please all behave yourselves." Her eyes darted to Elliot as she harden her stare. "Especially you."
He was taken back. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Everyone awaited for whoever was waiting on the other side of the door. They all looked foolish, peeking from the kitchen.
That's when Riley pulled the door open and there revealed a handsome young man in a long button up shirt with a light blue tie around his neck, in his hand were a bouquet of roses. All the guys jaws fell to the floor once they realized why Odette had made Beef Stroganoff and why Riley was so dressed up.
"Who is that little twerp?" Owen hissed with large eyes towards Olivia and Odette.
Olivia hit his arm and glowered. "Shut up, he's right there." She whispered.
"I don't trust him, he needs to go home." Paul added angrily.
"You two are crazy. What makes you think Riley can bring that thing over?" Elliot was the most furious among the three men.
Suddenly they began to argue in the most quietest way possible, angry whispers leaving their lips as they huddled in a circle.
"Ahem." Riley said loudly as they both entered the kitchen.
They broke from their circle abruptly and tried their best to act natural but failed miserably.
"This is Alexander, my friend." She introduced him while she held the bouquet of roses in her hands.
He waved nervously, noticing the death glares that he was getting by the three males.
"This is Odette." She pointed to her. "I live here with her family."
He smiled and shook her hand. "You have a beautiful home."
Odette smiled lightly at him, impressed by his manners. "Thank you-"
"How nice." Paul spoke up, interrupting Odette. "I'm Paul." He brought his hand out and looked at Alexander firmly.
Riley frowned. "He's Odette's husband."
Alexander winced at his tight grip on his hand. "Very lovely home, sir." He managed to croak out.
He nodded and let go of his hand.
"This is Owen and Elliot." Riley spoke quickly, knowing that these two wouldn't go easy on Alexander. She wanted to get this part over.
"Wow." Owen started. "I think we deserve a better better introduction that that."
Riley held back a groan and straighten her stance. "This is Owen, Odette's brother."
He had an evil smile on his face as he looked at the boy in front of him. "It's nice to meet you." He shook his hand roughly.
Alexander remained strong and smiled politely. "You too, sir."
Then Riley finally got to breathe since Olivia opted for this meeting. "This is Olivia, Odette and Owen's youngest sister and my brothers girlfriend."
He finally smile without fright as he shook his hand in her gentle grip. "How many months are you?" He asked as his eyes met her stomach.
She smiled and let go of his hand as she ran it over her belly. "I'm-"
"Are you calling her fat?" Owen interrupted loudly.
Alexander's eyes grew large and he shook his head vigorously. "N-n-no! I didn't mean it like that." He stammered, his cheeks now red from embarrassment.
Olivia rolled her eyes. "I'm 5 months pregnant." She answered happily.
He smiled nervously at her answer. "Congratulations."
She smiled back. "Thank you."
Lastly, it was Elliot's time. Everyone awaited his welcome to Alexander, hoping it wasn't too bad.
"This is Elliot." Riley nervously introduce. "My older brother."
Alexander gulped and smiled, trying his best to wipe the fear from his face. "Hello, sir. You have a very beautiful sister- I mean, you-your girlfriend is beautiful-No. Crap- I meant that-"
Odette and Olivia giggled at his nervousness while Riley stood there, knowing it was the last time she would bring a boy home. The guys cocked their eyebrows, confused at the words that were coming out of his mouth.
"It's nice to meet you too." Elliot told him in a firm voice as he shook his hand without trying to cut off all circulation.
Alexander chuckled with the sound of distress.
"Let's eat." Odette beamed brightly, clapping her hands together. A little surprised with Elliot.
Both Paul and Owen sprinted to the dining room in pure joy. Riley and Alexander followed while Odette brought the plate of food.
"You handle that well." Olivia whispered as she looked up at Elliot.
"I can't believe you did that, Liv. You could have asked me first." He snapped in a quiet tone. "But since we're here might as well give this kid a fair chance at getting to know him." He added, his tone softening.
Olivia cocked an eyebrow, she expected him to get angry but he seemed rational about this. It was weird.

A couple of minutes into dinner was quiet. Unfortunately, James and Jade were at their grandparents for the weekend and it would have been a lot more fun if they were here.
"So, Alexander." Elliot started, clearing his throat. "Do you work right now?"
He wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Yes, I do. I have a part time job at the arcade not too far from here. I've been saving up in order to go to Harvard."
He nodded, slightly impressed with his goal. "Do you drive?"
"Yes and I have a car as well, it's not the best but it works."
"You have a car already?" Paul questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"My parents bought it from my Aunt but I promised them I would pay for the rest like gas and the insurance."
Paul nodded, impressed by his responsibility.
"Do you have a dog?" Owen asked.
Everyone looked over at him in confusion at his stupid question.
But Alexander looked at ease with his question, the pressure melting away. "We have two."
He nodded. "That's cool."
The dinner continued and wasn't awkward, there was actual conversation and although the guys were being really hard on Alexander it was a good night.
Now it was time for him to go home, he politely said bye to them and thanked Odette for the meal. His manners were impressive.
"Let me walk you to your car." Elliot offered.
His eyes grew with fright but he nodded with hesitance.
Riley grew worried, her brother behaved so well and she knew he was going to try something once they were alone.
Once Elliot and Alexander left the house, everyone fled to the large window peering through the curtains to watch.
"You're a nice kid, Alexander." Elliot complimented as they walked to the car.
He smiled, not bothering to reply.
"Do you like my sister?" He asked, in a tone that was too nice.
Alexander was hesitant to answer but he didn't want to back down to Elliot. "I do, I like her a lot."
"You're ready to anything for her then?"
"Yes."
"Alright." Suddenly a vile look appeared on his face as he stared at Alexander icily, gripping collar tightly yanking him closer. "Let me get this straight to you then." He seethed through his clenched jaw as they stood in front of the red vehicle. "If you hurt my sister in any way mentally, emotionally or physically you're going to wish you were never born."
"Y-yes, sir." He replied, trying his best to remain tough.
"Court her first and treat her like the princess she is then we won't have any problems." He added, less in a less wicked tone. "Got it, pretty boy?"
Alexander gulped.
"I said got it, pretty boy?" He repeated more loudly.
"Yes." He finally answered, sweating was practically running down his whole body.
He continued to stare at him with menace then he loosen up and smiled, letting go of his collar. "Great, I hope to see you soon." He began to walk back to the house but turned around. "I hope you understand where I'm coming from, I'm her older brother and she's my only sister. I want what's best for her so prove it." And with that, he walked into the house closing the door with a satisfied smile on his face.
"It look like you were going to murder him." Riley asked once he entered. "What did you say?
"I told him what I needed to tell him."
She groaned in annoyance. "I am not a child anymore, Elliot. Stop treating me like I'm five years old! I'm a growing girl with breasts!"
Everyone looked at her weirdly once she said it.
"For the first time in my life a boy actually likes me." Her eyes suddenly began to well up with tears. "And you three ruined it."
Guilt washed over Owen and Paul, knowing Riley for as long as they did made them consider her like a little sister. It was a given that they felt over protective tonight.
Elliot sighed. "I told him that he could court you."
Riley raised her eyebrow. "You did?"
"Yes, Riley. So stop crying."
Suddenly more tears came down her cheek, this time happy ones. She jumped up and hugged her brother tightly. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
He rolled his eyes and hugged her back. "You're growing up too fast."
