Bella & Hurt Feelings

The party was now dying down but Elliot was still conversing with the pretty girl but now they were sitting down across from one another. Olivia avoided the area that they were in like the plague so she that jealously wouldn't creep up on her again.

She bite down on her bottom lip. It would have been different if they were still known as best friends and not a couple, she would have easily introduced herself but that wasn't the case Olivia couldn't help but feel like she was competing with her.

Noelle moved beside her and nudged her gently. "You've been staring at Elliot and that girl for a good 5 minutes." She stated.

Olivia quickly looked away. "What?"

She laughed lightly. "You should go introduce yourself."

"No, I'm good."

"Do you think he likes her?"

They were now both staring at Elliot and the girl, observing their every move.

"Yeah." Olivia held back a sad sigh as she answered, she knew her best friend and his nervous actions. It was more than obvious that he liked her.

"Are you going to do anything about it?"

She scoffed. "It's not like I'm not his actual girlfriend."

"But nobody here knows that. It just looks like you're letting your boyfriend flirt." Noelle told her, telling the truth.

Olivia remained standing, unsure what to do.

"Look, these snooty upperclassman talk and if they notice Elliot talking a little too much to that girl it's going to spread like wild fire."

She groaned and slowly made her way towards Elliot.

"Stand up straight." Noelle whispered yelled.

Olivia did exactly that and continued to walk, as she got closer she frowned. She was even more beautiful up close.

"Hi." Olivia greeted shyly.

Elliot and the girl looked up at Olivia. His eyes grew large.

"I'm Olivia." She outstretched her hand towards the girl. "Elliot's girlfriend."

A wash of disappointing appeared onto her face but she smiled and shook her hand. "I'm Bella."

Olivia removed her hand from hers. She fought
a frown moving onto her lips, of course her name was Bella. It meant beautiful in Italian.

"You're the youngest daughter, right?" She asked, tilting her head in curiosity.

She nodded.

"What are you doing?" Elliot mouthed as he gawked at his best friend.

Olivia ignored him.

"That's wonderful, you finally graced us with your presence." She told her in a sarcastic sneer.

She cocked an eyebrow at her unexpected attitude. "What does that mean?"

"Frankly, no one knew you were the youngest daughter until tonight."

Olivia couldn't help but feel upset because she knew it was true.

"Not to be mean though." Bella added with a sweet smile. "But your parents don't talk much about you."

Suddenly Elliot stood up. "It was nice talking to you until I figured out that you are extremely disrespectful." He gripped Olivia's hand. "I hope you do not speak like that while you are at work because I'm sure Mr and Mrs Andrews would be more than willing to fire you."

Bella gaped.

"Drive home safely." And with that he walked away with Olivia behind him in surprise.

Once they were in another room, Olivia removed her hand from his. She fought the tears that were already welling up in her eyes. He sighed as he looked at her.

"You need to rest, it's been a long day." He smiled sadly at her.

She looped her arm through his and followed him towards their room, avoiding any conversation that could possibly happen on the way. Finally they made it the room, as soon as Elliot closed the door tears began to stream down Olivia's face.

He didn't say anything but help her towards the bed, taking off her heels once she sat down. Once he put them away, he walked towards the washroom to get make up wipes.

Olivia sobbed loudly, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand. The make up looking worse and worse each time she put her hand on her face.

"Here." He handed it to her. "You don't want to sleep with that crap on, it's going to mess up your face."

She continued to cry.

Elliot sighed and began to wipe away her make up and tears himself. After a couple of moments Olivia took it from him and did the same, trying her best to remove the make up on her face.

Then he swiftly moved behind her, taking out the bobby pins in her hair so that her brown hair tumbled over her shoulders. He got off the bed and went back to the washroom, leaving the bobby pins and picking up Olivia's hair brush. When he walked back into the bedroom she was still crying.

"Do you want to wear your onesie?" He asked, walking towards her closet.

She nodded, tears still going down her face.

He took out her onesie and gave it to her. She got up and made her way to the washroom.

Elliot knew exactly what to do when his best friend was uncontrollably sobbing, ever since they were kids it was usually him who was here to soothe her. It took him a while to figure out the right way to comfort her but he did it and it worked every time.

She walked out of the washroom in her onesie, Elliot had to admit she looked beyond adorable in it. She trudged her way back to the bed and sat in front of Elliot then he began to gently brush her hair.

"That was mean." She pouted like a child.

Elliot held back a chuckle at her child like voice and continued to brush her hair. "I know."

She wiped her eyes one more time and let out a shaky sigh. "But it was true." She whimpered.

He didn't know how to reply to her instead he made her move onto his lap so he could hug her tightly.

She snuggled into his shoulder and felt tears running down her cheeks once again.

Couple minutes passed by until Olivia stopped crying, she moved away from him and looked into his eyes. "Am I too heavy?"

He nodded truthfully.

She giggled with embarrassment and got off his lap. "I hope I didn't cut off all circulation in your legs."

"As long as you're okay." He replied to her, getting off the bed so that he could go change himself.

Olivia knew that her eyes were probably red and puffy, an hour of crying made her exhausted. It was the saddest she had felt.

Elliot then came back with pajamas on, he moved onto the bed and laid beside Olivia.

"Thank you." She whispered.

He smiled as he looked over at her. "We're best friends, Liv. I would do anything for you."

She looked over at him and smiled as well, Olivia couldn't feel more grateful for him. "And I would do anything for you."

And with that Olivia turned on her side, her back facing Elliot. A huge smile crept onto her face. He continued to look at her, thoughts of what ifs and maybes swirled around his mind but he forced them away so that he could go to sleep.
