I rolled the incubator next to Rose allowing her to pick up Bryson.
"Baby I hope you're hungry. Mommy's tiddies are hurting."
I laughed.
"Bryson did you bring my pump?"
"It should be in your purse."
"Get it please."
I grabbed it for her and placed it in her hand. She fed Bryson on one boob and pumped her other one.
"You feel better?"
"No, the sucking hurts too."
I massaged the top of the boob the pump was connected to. She tilted her head back and shut her eyes.
"Feel good?"
"A pleasurable pain. So yes."
"I set up a meeting with my publicist to see what he would advise us to do to shut the situation down."
"I don't want you to leave me though."
"I know baby. He's coming to us."
"Am I being too needy?" She peaked at me before shutting her eyes again
"No. Not at all."
"Okay, good. When is he coming?"
"Tomorrow."
"But I'll still be in the hospital tomorrow."
"He's going to speak to both of us. You're not left out of this process."
"He's coming in here?"
"Yes. I have to keep you comfortable."
"Babe I look a mess. I only have my hair brush with me and my edges are damn there sweated out."
"Who are you trying to look good for?"
"It's not about looking good. It's about looking presentable and putting your best face into the world."
"Baby you'll have enough time to be fine, once we make it home. Although I don't think you can get any more better looking."
She rolled her eyes playfully.
"Alright Alright smooth talker."
"What about the private investigator?"
"We'll talk about that too....and about Amir. You might have to give up his address."
"They won't be able to find him? He lives right off of 92nd and Adams, directly on the corner."
I chuckled slightly. Rose might've just got Amir's ass whooped for him.
"Babe can you sneak me in some real food?"
"What do you want to eat?"
"I really want IHOP. A Belgian waffle with strawberries, cheesy eggs, a hasbrown, and 2 McDonald's sausage patties."
"I can't get IHOP through uber eats baby. I'll be back."
She peeked at me again and nodded before puckering up her lips. I gave her a kiss and carefully got out of bed.
"Drink?"
"Strawberry lemonade. No ice."
I nodded and caressed Bryson's little leg before leaving. Once I left the hospital I went directly to IHOP and placed our order then went on my way to Amir's crib.
I rode down Adams very slow looking for any sign of him. Once I got down to the corner I spotted his car. I was tempted to stop and ask about Kay or whoop his ass but I just had to see if Rose was right.
My baby just be rambling and giving out information.
As I was turning the corner he stepped out into the porch with a female close behind him. She was pregnant. I stared at him for a second knowing he couldn't see me before speeding off. He had something coming for him.
How he thought he could take Rose from me and then disrespected her in front of me was crazy. I didn't beat his ass on spot because Rose was there and scaring her could hurt the baby.
Once I arrived back to ihop I picked up our food and made my way back to Rose.
"Hey mama." Rose was half sleep and slowly pumping
Opened on of her eyes slowly and smiled at me.
"Food now please."
I set the food down and placed baby Bryson back in the incubator.
I placed her food on her lap and sat next to the bed.
"You we're gone for almost an hour. What happen?"
"Nothing. I took the long way."
"What long way?"
"I went right around Adams and 92nd then to iHop."
"Bryson!"
"He didn't see me baby. I just had to check it out."
"How'd you even get his address? Creep."
I tuned my face up and laughed.
"You told me."
"Really? I probably did, I have baby brain."
"What's that mean?"
"I can't remember anything and my mind is just moving slow."
She sighed dramatically.
"Babe you need to get some rest so eat up and we're gonna wind down."
"You sound so old. Wind down." She mocked me before laughing
I took some egg out of her container and twisted my face at her playfully before eating it.
When we were done eating I lowered the lights and pulled the incubator as close to the bed as possible before climbing one bed with Rose. I rested my chin on top her shoulder before kissing her cheek.
"I love you Bryson."
"I love you too mamas."
