Chapter 31
Tris' POV
"Keep going." I shove the man forward, forcing him into the candor compound.
He hasn't said a word the whole way here. I would ask any question imaginable, but he just wouldn't say a word. I eventually gave up, knowing that the truth serum will force him to talk as long as he isn't divergent.
As we walk through the halls of candor, we get stares and points and disgusted looks, but we just keep walking, Uriah pushing people out of the way when needed.
Eventually a receptionist brings us to Jack Kang, as we would've gotten lost without it. As we walk I look around. The walls are all white, the surface reflecting light everywhere and the floor is a black tile. I could see us getting lost very easily in here.
We turn a corner and see Jack Kang's office to the right. Uriah takes the guy from my grasp so I can talk to Jack.
"Tris, what seems to be the problem?" Jack asks as I walk in.
"We caught the guy who bombed erudite and need to have a trial. He hasn't said a word since we captured him."
"Okay. I've seen the footage of you two, so I'll only one scheduled trial." He looks down at his schedule, "We'll have one tomorrow at 4:00. You are welcome to stay the night in one of our dormitories."
I say thanks and walk out. One of the Candor guards takes 666 to a cell, locking him up while we make sure he made it there. Finally, Uriah and I walk back to the dormitories and quickly fall asleep.
