Chapter 17
Tris' POV
"Alright initiates, we will be learning how to throw knives and shoot guns today! Don't get distracted by the baby in the room!" Tobias says in his instructor voice.
We had to bring Teigon into training due to my mom being sick, and everyone else being at work. Although the others have kids, they were able to find babysitters at short notice while we couldn't.
"Why is there a baby here though? Couldn't he get hurt?" Clare, one of the amity transfers says.
"Yes, but we as parents, are smarter then to let him get hurt." I put emphasis on parents to get the point to her, but she just smirks and looks at Clark, her twin brother.
"If your smarter then to let your kid get hurt, why did his leg get stabbed in Amity. We both saw it happen, so don't deny it." Clark says and they both snicker a little.
I'm left with my mouth slightly open and emotions running through my head. I'm not able to process anything and no words come out.
"There is a difference between letting your child get hurt and having no choice on what happens. We didn't choose to have a former dauntless leader that we thought was dead for 2 years stab our child in the leg, and there's nothing we could've done." Tobias says with aggression.
I still can't believe that a former amity would say that. And she said that to the two main dauntless leaders.
"You guys need to be more thankful to have trainers, let alone dauntless leaders that changed the ways of training. Four, I think they need a lesson, I'll be right back. I'll take Teigon if you start teaching them how to shoot a gun." I say and he nods.
I grab Teigon from the play mat he is sitting on and walk out of the room. I first go to Christina's training room.
"What are you doing here Tris?" She asks while coming over to me.
"I need you to take a little break, maybe bring your initiates to our training room. I need you to help me teach the initiates how to respect us. Go to the training room,I'll meet you there." I say and she nods without question.
While she goes to get the Dauntless born initiates and Uriah, I leave to get Will and any of my friends that had something happen during initiation.
~~~
I enter the training room and see Tobias helping the initiates with Uriah and Christina helping with the dauntless borns. The rest of my friends just stand in the back confused.
"Guys, come over here." I say and all of my friends come over including Tobias, Christina, and Uriah.
"Yerr!" Teigon squeals while reaching out to Uriah. If you couldn't tell, Teigon hasn't said his first word yet.
Uriah grabs him with a smile then returns his attention back to me.
"I need you all to explain your worst experience in initiation that happened before T-Four and I changed the rules. Four and I's initiates don't know how to respect us as their trainers and dauntless leaders. I'm hoping this will get to them." I say and they nod.
"Initiates! Gather around." I say.
Both groups of initiates come and stand in a semi-circle around us.
"I am very disappointed in my initiates, and it's only the first day. You don't realize what Four and I as leaders have done to help in initiation. Dauntless borns know what we did. but listen anyways. I hope by the end of this, I will have all of your respect." I say that and look at Clare and Clark. "Christina, you start."
"Before Four and Tr-Six changed the rules of initiation, we had to go through the hardest initiation any dauntless has been through. I was fighting the strongest girl in our class, and wanted to concede. Eric, the old dauntless leader, had made a rule that there was no conceding but I couldn't keep going. He brought me to the chasm and forced me to hang from the railing for five minutes. If I fell, I would've died. If I climbed up before the time was done, I would've been factionless. Now that Four and Six are the leaders and trainers, you are allowed to concede in fights and nothing like that will happen again." She finishes.
"Will, you're next." I say.
"Just like Christina said, we were not allowed to concede in fights. I had to fight one of my best-friends and it get to the point of me being knocked out. That also hurt my ranking in initiation."
"I'll go next." I say, "I probably had some of the worst experiences during my initiation. Four was my instructor, but we had Eric, the former dauntless leader watching over us. I was not very good at fighting in my initiation and Eric hated me, which wasn't a good mix. I had to fight my enemy who just happened to be one of the strongest initiates in my class. He won and I was almost made factionless. While walking down the halls of dauntless and some guys, who happened to be Peter, Al, and Drew, blindfolded me and dangled me over the chasm by my throat. I was almost thrown in before Four came along and helped. Al threw himself over the chasm out of cowardice and was considered brave. The last one, I will not say just yet, but will be shown during knife throwing. Now, any questions?"
---------------------
I hate this chapter. I like what I did, I just hate how I wrote it and I'm having a hard time making it better. I also know this wouldn't have happened in Divergent, but I felt like doing something abnormal. Now, I really need ideas so please give them to me. Like and comment as you please. Love you initiates!
