"Hey, where are you?" Stevie spoke into her phone as Luke waited patiently.

They (as in all the boys and Stevie) were going to go eat lunch at a restaurant and Stevie insisted she had to call Riley and ask. Stevie had said that Riley was hanging out with a bunch of their old school friend today so he didn't see why Stevie had to ring her.

"Oh alright. Well I'm going out for lunch with the guys, so if you wan-" Stevie was interrupted by the voice on the other line.

"OK! Tell him I say hello." Him, Luke thought, who was him.

"Love you too, bye." Stevie continued before putting down the phone and hanging up.

"She's already eaten, so we're good to go." Stevie nodded.

"Great!" Michael exclaimed. "Because I'm starving."

"You ate like 40 minutes ago!" Stevie exclaimed, shocked about how skinny the boy was and how much intake he seemed to be able to have.

"Michael can eat like a lion." Ashton told Stevie.

"Michael can eat a lion." Calum remarked and the group of 5 chuckled a little bit.

"So Stevie where do you want to go for lunch?" Luke asked her. He was a bit disappointed that he couldn't somehow get her alone again, that seemed to be when they had the most intimate conversations. He also didn't like the fact that he had to share her with the rest of the group when technically he met her first. They all shared the same group of friends and it was rare that only one of them had a close connection to someone without the rest of them having it as well. On the bus he possibly thought that maybe he could with Stevie, but then Ashton swooped in.

Luke was still hesitant about Stevie, not because he didn't think she couldn't handle the hate or anything like that but he didn't know if he could. She'd never done anything wrong and all the hate would be lies that would anger him. When it came to girls, the fans went too far. 90% of the girls were only friends as well, and that's all they'd ever be. Luke didn't know if Ashton told her about their band, if he had she hadn't mentioned it and still acted the way she did. Riley was right in that sense- if Ashton had told her. He'd meant to ask him but got to caught up with Stevie.

"Doesn't matter to me." Stevie shrugged, Luke knew she was just being polite.

"C'mon. Make a decision. Or we'll just stand here until you do." Calum added on and Ashton nodded in agreement.

"Please make a decision quickly, because my poor, empty stomach won't be able to handle much more procrastination." Michael moaned and Luke sent him a dirty look.

"Alright, I know a place." Stevie said. "Follow me."

"Is it far?" Michael groaned.

"Shut up Mike." Calum whacked him in the back of the head.

"This is really great." Michael munched down on his food.

"Yeah Stevie, wow." Calum added on.

"You really like it that much?" Stevie laughed as she watched the boys eat. She herself wasn't too hungry. She had eaten breakfast a few hours ago and then had a bag of popcorn. Or part of a bag since Luke ate most of it. She knew he was hungry, why hadn't he just bought his own?

"It's really great Stevie." Luke told her as he flashed his perfectly, straight white teeth.

"So Stevie, tell us a little about yourself." Michael managed to speak through the muffled sounds he was making from his horrid eating habits.

"There's nothing really to tell. I'm not a very interesting person." Stevie laughed whilst taking a sip of water.

"That's not sure." Ashton cooed. "Someone like you is definitely interesting."

"Someone like me?" Stevie raised her eyebrows.

"Well you know-" Ashton began but was cut off by an annoyed Calum.

"This is his very sad attempt to flirt with you." Calum shook his head.

Stevie looked over at Ashton who's mouth was gaping and his cheeks had turned a slight red.

"I don't think he was." Luke answered angrily. He knew Ashton really was trying to flirt but he did not want Stevie to know that just incase she started to find a liking towards him.

"Actually, to be honest I was just a bit." Ashton looked at Stevie who looked away.

"Anyways." Calum tried to ease the situation away from awkward. "What's something not interesting about you?"

Stevie searched her mind for something to tell them that wasn't too personal but enough to make herself seem more interesting then she act she actually was.

"I have a brother named Tony who is 21 and a younger sister, Jules, who is 15. And I've lived in California all my life." Stevie answered.

"That's not about you." Ashton told her.

"There's really nothing to tell." Stevie noted.

"Alright, we get it you're shy." Calum piped up, shaking his head and laughing at Stevie's resistance.

"I'm sorry but may I be excused. I've just got to go to the bathroom." Stevie had to get away, she really didn't know why she put herself in a position that she was uncomfortable with. She just met these boys and here she was hanging out with them. They were all friends and she was just an add on. An accessory. She didn't belong here with them, and why did they even want to hang out with her anyways? Was it some giant competition to see who could get the girl? Was she going to be the girl who they had a one night stand with and left the next day? No she wouldn't be. She wouldn't be left, not again. All these and more questions and thoughts ran threw her mind and she didn't know what to do.

"Stevie?" A familiar voice said outside the bathroom door. Stevie didn't even remember getting to the bathroom. "You alright?"

"Yeah, I am." She said but Luke knew she was lying. He saw the look on her face when she got up from the table and left.

"C'mon Stevie, I know that's bullshit." Luke said through the door.

Stevie unlocked the door and stood in front of Luke. He stared at her, upset that her eyes were red and puffy. Why had she started to cry suddenly? Had he said something to upset her? Had the boys?

"Stevie, why are you crying?" He asked her gently.

"What?" Stevie said bring her hands to her face and for the first time feeling the tears. She hadn't even known she was crying.

"Hey it's OK." Luke said rubbing her back, he didn't want to overstep his boundaries.

"No it's not Luke. It's not."
