Chapter Thirteen
The impact of Angelica's savagery lasted about a day. Despite how hard she slayed, Thomas was back to his usual cocky self, strutting around the next time they saw him.
Alexander had been gently forced back to bed. Well it wasn't so gently considering it took John, Herc, Laf and all three Schuyler sisters to do it. (He was small, yet surprisingly fast and slippery!) But he was back on bedrest nonetheless.
"HOW DID YOU MOVE SO FAST!?" John collapsed in exhaustion. He'd been chasing Alex around for the past hour.
"Fuck you." The small man pouted, crossing his arms.
"Alex." John sighed, almost laughing.
"Hmph."
John climbed onto the bed. "Aleeeexxx..." He sing-songed.
The man looked away.
His boyfriend put his face right in front of his. "Oh, Aleeeex."
Alexander turned his head, meeting John's lips accidentally. They shared a sweet kiss that lasted a few seconds.
"Still mad at me?" John grinned.
"Maybe... not." Alex admitted, fiddling with his zipper. He didn't want to stay mad.
His boyfriend chuckled and pushed a strand of hair away from his face. "I'll see you tonight."
Once he had gone Alexander sighed. Alone again.

Angelica squeezed her girlfriend's hand. "Are you excited?"
Maria chuckled. "This is just a routine meeting, Angie. We don't get to find out the sex until 18 weeks. We're at 12."
"I know..." Angelica was usually so sensible. This baby was turning her into a freaking mess. A good kid of mess.
"Calm down, babe." Maria whispered, squeezing her hand. "It's okay." She could see how anxious her girlfriend was getting.
"Did we do this too early? I'm not really a mom type. I'm not going to be a very good m-"
"Babe!" Maria turned to Angelica, putting her hand on her shoulder. "You are gonna be a great mom."
"Do you really think so?" Angelica looked so unsure of herself. It was very strange to see her like that.
Maria grinned. "Absolutely."

"No. No, no, no." Alex murmured to himself. Rain was coming down and John wouldn't be back for another half hour or so. He was also working on this in therapy, but it would take a while to get over.
The rain became heavier and heavier slowly and thunder cracked. The sky was dark.
Alex curled into himself and tried to focus on the movie. Then the power went out.

John was driving home when his phone rang. It was Alex, so he answered. "Hi, baby."
A whimper came from the other end of the line.
"Baby?"
"Are you almost home? Please come home." Alex cried.
"What's wrong?" John felt concern fill him.
"The storm!"
"Shit." John whispered under his breath. He hadn't remembered Alex's fear of storms. He was such a bad boyfriend.
"The power is out. Please hurry!" Alex pleaded desperately.
"Okay, I'm just five minutes away, babe! Just stay on the phone with me until I get there." He tried to sound as comforting as he possibly could.
When he finally got home he ran up the stairs and into the apartment. Then he jogged to the bedroom.
"John!" Alex gasped, remaining curled into his little ball under the covers.
John instantly enveloped his boyfriend in a tight hug. "I'm sorry, Alex. I'm so sorry."
"It's okay." He said through his tears.
"No it's not. I should have remembered. I should have come home sooner." John sniffled. He kicked off his shoes and crawled under the covers.
"It's alright, John. Really. It's okay." Alex reassured him.
The taller man wrapped his body around Alex, snuggling his boyfriend. "I love you so much." John whispered, kissing his nose.
"I love you t-" a clap of thunder made Alexander jump. He buried his face into John's chest.
"It's okay." John spoke soothingly, rubbing Alex's back.
Alexander felt safe in his arms.
