Chapter Nine
Disclaimer: There's legal stuff in this chapter that's probably all wrong.
"Keep him awake!" Eliza said, crying. "I'm pre-med. They taught us that if he has a concussion he has to be awake or he could slip into a coma!"
"Stay awake!" John pleaded as he carried Alex outside to wait for the ambulance.
"HE IS A SMOL BEAN!" Eliza sobbed. "WHY DID HE THINK HE COULD FIGHT JEFFERSON!"
"Because he's a fucking airhead!" Peggy fumed. "God how could he be so stupid!"
They heard sirens wailing in the street. The sound got closer and Alex fought to keep awake. He was so confused.
"IS HE LEGAL?!" Lafayette yelled, suddenly thinking of it.
"What?" John froze.
"Is he here... legally? Is he documented?"
John nearly broke down. "God, I... I don't know."
"OH MY FUCKING GOD, COULD HE BE ANY STUPIDER?" Peggy screamed.
"What do we do?" Maria asked fearfully.
Hercueles shrugged. "He needs medical attention. We have to let them help him."
"No-I... G-guys..." Came a weak voice.
They looked at Alex. He was struggling to speak. "My mom... tried. We-we- I'm not legal..." Was all he could get out before he passed out.
"NO!" John tried to shake him awake, but he was out cold.
The ambulance stopped in front of the bar and paramedics rushed out with a stretcher.
Eliza talked to them in some medical language no one else understood and they rushed him into the back of the vehicle.
"Let's go!" John cried. They all ran to the car and got in, following the ambulance to the hospital.
-
"He's not a documented citizen, is he?" The doctor asked calmly.
John shook his head. "Um, no."
The doctor sighed. "Well... we can keep him here until he is healthy enough to transport, but unfortunately we will have to contact the authorities. What they do then is up to them, but I imagine they'll deport him."
Tears streamed down John's face. "No, no... Please no."
"I'm sorry." The doctor said.
-
"WHAT?" It seemed as though everybody screamed in unison.
"Alex is going to be deported." John sobbed.
"FUCKING DONALD TRUMP MOTHER FUCKING LAWS!" Peggy screamed, tears streaming down her cheeks as well. Everyone was crying and everyone was sober now.
"What are we gonna do?" Eliza cried.
Angelica's face hardened. "I'll be right back." She pulled her phone out of her back pocket and walked around the corner.
A doctor came around the corner. "He's awake and you can see him. He won't be able to talk very well, but he'll comprehend what you're saying."
Everyone but Angelica filed into Alex's room. He was connected to more tubes and wires than anyone could count. He felt like he'd been hit by a truck.
"Hey, baby." John tried to quiet his sobs.
"Why... are you... crying?" Alex asked slowly, like it pained him to move even his mouth.
"No reason." John didn't want to worry his boyfriend. There was already too much.
"Hey, guys." Angelica stepped into the room.
"Where have you been?" Eliza asked.
"No place..."
They all looked at Alexander, wondering if this was the last time they'd see their friend.
AN: ahhhhh. I have been planning this 5ever.
