College!5sos

[A/N: pretty sure that's not even the right way to put this title but I dont give a flying sack of ballz

Enjoy ;)))))))]

It was move in day finally, and you were a bit more anxious than usual. School started in a week, and you didn't want to be the slightest minute late, because you were internally and physically competing against your roommate for the bed by the window, and you knew she was going to be there early anyway; you ran on colored people time, the usual.

You didn't know how to feel, going to a college so far away from home. Sure, the thought of not washing dishes and no more lectures about sitting around the house doing nothing made you ecstatic, but you were still going to miss your family like crazy.

Now, you were a few minutes away from your new college, a faint smile on your face as you gazed out the window, your earbuds on full blast as you got a sudden flash of nostalgia. The window that was separating you from the outside world put on quite a show for you; you watched the trees whipping by, and the passing cars of unfamiliar faces coming and going. The sun was making it's peak over the horizon as you shifted in your neck pillow, trying to get comfortable again.

"Y/N, we're almost there. Are you excited?" your mom turned around and smiled at you from the passenger seat.

You nodded and stretched out a little bit, yawning as your eyes fought against you for trying to stay awake all this time.

Your dad kept his eyes on the road ahead, not saying much at all. He hummed along with the old tunes on the radio, tapping the rhythm on the steering wheel. He had been warning you about the college boys ever since graduation, and he wanted you to be on P's and Q's about any guy that came in contact with you on campus. "Freshmen are always the goal. They want em' as fresh and as young as they can be!" He'd say to you often. You only ignored him though, knowing that all those four years you spent being single were finally going to be over when you stepped foot on college grounds.

You turned into a wide road, with a lovely statue front and center, water running down it like a manmade waterfall. You sat up and gazed amazingly at the sign, with your college name on it, that was planted in the green grass. As you drove up the road, you could see the large parking lot, and the hundreds of people unloading their dorm necessities and school supplies. It was pretty much full already, even at seven in the morning.

You guys found a nice parking spot and you hopped out, groaning at the sight so many people.

I can kiss that window-bed goodbye. You rolled your eyes.

You made your way to the trunk and you opened it, revealing all of your boxed up things. You grabbed a box, and your parents grabbed a few as well, the three of you walked all the way to your dorm.

It wasn't that long of a walk, and before you knew it, you were already inside the lobby. The fresh vanilla scent entered through your nose, causing a warm sensation inside. You got onto the elevator, two stacked up boxes hiding your face.

"Y/N, what floor is it again?" Your mother asked, her index finger grazing over the buttons.

"The third floor," you grunted, shuffling the boxes in your arms.

The elevator doors shut closed and you felt the familiar stomach-churning feeling as you went up two stories. When the doors yanked open, you rushed out, still trying to get to your dorm room first.

"Y/N! Slow down!" Your dad yelled after you as you cut corners.

You already could imagine your side of the room, by the window, decked out in all the furniture you brought. Not only was that side of the room the biggest with the most space, it was the prettiest.

As you ran, your head was tilted to the side, trying to see over the two large boxes blocking your vision. That's when you crashed into someone.

"Ouch!" a twangy, Australian accent mumbled, stumbling back.

Your two boxes were on the floor, and the clothes you had were scattered everywhere.

"Oh goodness... I'm sorry," you frowned, sucking on your teeth.

You instantly squatted low and started to put your things back into the cardboard box. You didn't bother to look at his face because you were so embarrassed.

"It's okay," he giggled, squatting down to help you.

You looked up caught eye contact with the beautifulest pair of blue eyes you had ever seen. He had a black lip ring on the left corner of his bottom lip with a captivating smile. He had a red flannel on with a black tank underneath, and black skinny jeans. His blonde hair was nicely done in a quiff, and you almost wanted to touch it. You were so amazed by this gorgeous boy that you didn't even notice your black lace bra dangling from his fingertips.

"Which box does this go in?" He smiled, his cheeks flustering red.

"O-Oh... Uh---Here, I'll take that," you stammered.

After you two had packed everything back up, you stood up. You picked up one box and before you could pick up the other, the boy stopped you.

"Do you mind if I help you?" He asked politely.

"No, not at all!" you giggled.

He picked up the box and began to follow you to your dorm. You had finally arrived and you used the key you had gotten in the mail to open the door. When you got in, the window bed had already been taken, and your roommate and her parents turned around and flashed a fake smile.

"Oh, hello! You must be Kaylynn's roommate!" The woman smiled, advancing towards you.

You shook her hand, one arm still engulfed around the large box.

"I'm Cindy---Cindy Walter." She said in a very preppy dialect.

The girl's dad came up and introduced himself, along with his daughter. Your roommate had blonde hair that stopped just around her shoulders, and emerald eyes that just so happened to be gazing on the guy you had just met.

"Well, is this your boyfriend?" Kaylynn asked, eyeing him like crazy.

"Um---well," he began to stammer.

"No." You laughed.

A look of relief fell on the girls face as she held her hands together like some optimistic princess in some cruddy fairytale. Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink.

"I'm Kaylynn," she faintly said, shaking the boy's hand.

"I'm Luke..."

So... that's his name? You thought.

It had been a moment and you still hadn't said your name to anyone. It didn't seem like your roommate cared though; she was so focused on Luke.

"I'm Y/N,"

As you shook the three of their hands, you could feel Luke staring at you. You weren't sure why, but he seem so amazed by the sound of your name.

As they conversed with you, telling you all about Kaylynn---which you thought she should've been doing herself---you set everything up on your side of the room.

That half of the dorm had a somewhat even amount of potential as the bed by the window did, but you couldn't deny that you were still bummed out about it.

Your parents had walked in now, and they plastered a fake smile on, along with their preppiest tone. Before you knew it, it was some strange gathering and everyone had been talking and laughing now; except for Luke.

He came over and helped you, like he had been doing for this past time.

"So... I'm going to head out in a few. I was supposed to be meeting the guys at eight." He whispered to you.

"The guys?" You questioned.

He nodded and half smiled. Once everything was done that he could do, he gave you a small piece of paper with his number on it and left.

High school was finally up and done for; now college was the new thing to worry about.
