Ending Self Harm
Hey, it's Liz! So as you may have already noticed, most of my chapters are based on things that are happening in my life and this chapter is dedicated to anyone that has been struggling w/self harm. As teens, we tend to become self conscience about ourselves and that sometimes leads to depression. Self harm is one of the only ways we try to express our hatred and is very dangerous. Here are 2 ways that can help you get over cutting.
🌺The Butterfly Project 🌺
Rules:
1) When you feel like you want to cut, take a marker or Sharpie and draw a butterfly.
2) Name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better.
3) You must let the butterfly fade naturally, NO scrubbing it off.
4) If you cut before the butterfly is gone, you've killed it. If you don't cut, it lives.
5) If you have more than 1 butterfly, cutting kills them all.
6) Another person may draw them on you. Those butterflies are extra special.
7) Even if you don't cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support.
💜Self Harm Jar💜
Directions:
1) Grab a jar, paper slips, and a pen.
2) Write positive messages from friends or family on the paper slips and fold them in half. Pour them into a jar.
3) When you feel depressed, pull out a paper and think about how much that person cares about you.
I really hope this helps and I know it's a very dark topic, but it affects so many people. Catch ya guys in my next chapter. BYEZ!✌️
P.S. You are BEAUTIFUL!😘
