Chapter 1-Casting
"Next!" Jeremy said. We have been seeing auditions for three hours and we have only gotten two people casted. Marcus playing Kyle and Katrina playing Iliana. Nobody for the lead, "What is it to challenging?" I think. Then finally he comes in, brown hair in his famous ruffled mess in a blue button up shirt and black skinny jeans and Jordans looking at me with those dazzling brown eyes, Cameron Boyce.
"Hello and your name is?" Jeremy asks, for a guy who has been in the tv business for 20 years you would think he knew who it was.
"Cameron, Cameron Boyce" he says timidly.
For a famous teenage actor you would think he would be more confident then i begin to speak. "And wha...." Getting cut off by Jeremy "And what part are you auditioning for young man?"
I stare at Jeremy scolding him , he has been interrupting me all day and now here i am in front of one the hottest guys alive being disrespected.
"Um Jeremy could you let me finish talking for once I am the director after all." Giving him a sinister grin.
"Wait your the director?" Cameron asks.
I swing my head back and look at him almost paralyzed by those beautiful chocolate brown eyes.
"Yes."
"Oh so your Aiden O'Reagan? Wow your like 16."
"Actually im 14 but thanks i worked really hard for this and Jeremy here should respect that cause' he is just a judge not the director"
Cameron giggled a bit and then spoke again.
"Wow you are really talented then being 14 and all."
"Yes i am but you are to....."
"Ok you two we have work to do here" Jeremy interrupts again. "Aiden if you like talking so much you could ask the question and read the lines after his"
"Alright it's about time i do" I smile a half grin and look at Cameron giving me a gleaming smile.
"Ok lets begin, so your name and your age please?" Already knowing the answers.
Cameron speaks with shyness again "Cameron Boyce 15 years old."
"And your occupation?"
"Student, teenage actor and dancer"
"And last what part are you auditioning for?"
"Alejandro, the male protagonist"
"Finally someone brave enough to try and take the role, thank you Cameron for giving us something new."
Cameron just smiled "No problem glad to help."
"But Alejandro is Puerto Rican and your not latin are you?"
"No but I like challenges so I'm trying this role."
"Brave I see." I place a crappy smile on my face and speak again. "Ok let's start reading your practice lines when your ready"
"Alright." Cameron nods and backs up to the middle of the room.
With a pause Cameron took a deep breath closed his eyes then in 5 seconds he spoke with the grace of a dove's wing.
"Why do need to act like nothing is bothering you? I know deep down your broken down and in tears just know that I'm here for you, you know that Adriana why won't you let me help you?" He said with the most caring voice and emotion I've ever heard, I was so mesmerized I almost forgot to read the next line. I shook my head to focus then read.
"Because everybody I've ever trusted or let know how i really feel have either let me down or treated me like nothing after, so I've built a solid wall of concrete and steel to shield myself and my emotions I just can't let you know how I feel I'm sorry ok"
"Adriana, I'm not like those other people I've loved and lost too I know the feeling of being let down is like and I would never want to make anybody feel that way you know that you can trust me I can help you take down that wall piece by piece because as long as I'm with you nobody can hurt you and you will never be alone ever again because now I'm here and I'm here to stay."
And in that moment we had gained a connection not sure how cause' were acting but we did and that connection was there to stay. His dark brown eyes then turned into golden brown looking at me with a sympathetic glare and I don't speak.
Mouths open we all stare in astonishment. Then I'm taken out of my trance to finally say, "Um.... Ok thank you we are um.. Gonna make our decision ok" all three of us turn to talk in a whisper all a mix of.
"Amazing"
"Fantastic"
"He's the one"
"Decision made he'sit"
"Agree?"
In synch "Agree!"
We turn back and Cameron his fierceness of a leopard had gone and the shyness of a mouse came back. "So what did you think?" Cameron asks.
I speak before anyone. "We loved it, you got the part Cameron congratulations!"
His face radiant he shouts thanks he shakes our hands and says thanks again and leaves without another word.
4 more hours passed and we had all roles casted, I give the cast the schedules and full scripts only saying "We start on Tuesday at 8 a.m don't be late, see you all there." Looking straight at Cameron while he looks at me to then turns and walks away.
