17 First Classes
Ashley Wood
Ring! Ring!
The very first class bell went. I say first but it'll also be the last, that bell was just to remind us our classes start today.
I skipped down the corridor to meet Ella and Alex for our class together. Biology.
I'd always loved biology and the water life, so I guess that's why I want to be a Marine Biologist.
Ella wanted to be a artist or photographer but had veterinary skills to back her up. I had no clue what Alex wanted to be or do but I guess I would find out sooner or later.
"Hold up, princess!" Nick stopped me in my path and spun me around just to kiss me. "Good luck."
"So you delayed my schedule and I just to kiss me and wish me good luck?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Exactly." He smirked.
"You can do that after my schedule is over, I'm running late now." I complained, biting back a smile. I kinda had this thing where I couldn't be late, like I was in this mind set that everything had to go by plan.
Nick laughed. "You and your schedules. Princess I promise you won't be late. I'll see you at ten?" He kissed me one last time and set me free to go to class.
I followed my path down to the girl that were waiting for me.
"You ready, or is he gonna hold you up even longer?" Alex laughed.
Ella pouted her lips and joined the laughter between the two.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's go or my schedule won't go to plan."
"Schedule?" Alex furrowed her eyebrows.
"Thought you said you'd drop the schedules?" Ella spoke and I shrugged, walking to class.
~*~~*~
"You alright, darlin'?" I looked up at Evan to see him smirking.
"Yeah." I replied shortly facing back down to my work.
"You weren't there yesterday morning when I woke up," he held his smirk while I answered random questions in the quiz Dr Simon set us.
"Shower." I gave him a short reply again- first class and I already feel tired. Then again I woke up at quarter to six for this lesson.
Silence soon grew between us as I pondered on a question about cats ears. This is so gonna help me in the future, isn't it?
"Thirty two." Evan whispered.
"What?"
"Thirty two," he repeated, analysing my furrowed eye brows. "In each cats ear- thirty two muscles."
"Smart. But how would you know that?"
"'Cause that's how many muscles I have in each arm, wanna feel?" Evans smirk flowered again.
"We have 640 muscles in our body- I'm sure you have many muscles." I stared at him blankly. Being tired was starting to get to me.
"Who's smart now?"
"Ha ha, now what do you want? I wanna finish this so I can get outa class and to bed." I rushed him.
"Don't we all. I want help cause I dunno what I'm doing with these last questions."
"Hamsters can smell adrenaline. A parrot fish sleeps in its own mucus/ snot. Star fish are eaten by many predators including Sunfish. Er and the last one is... Oh, they hold hands when asleep to stop drifting apart." I quickly answered all the questions he'd missed.
"Sea otters hold hands when they sleep to stop drifting apart? That's cute." Evan laughed. "How do you know all this?"
"Wanna be a Marine Biologist." I smiled answering my very last question about turtles breathing through their butts.
"Same."
"Really?"
"Yep, love animals and water so what the heck." He replied.
That made me smile. Those were the same reasons I wanted to become one; discover loads of animals and experience their underwater life.
Nick never really got it, he said I could do so much with my small voice and guitar. And I could, but I probably wouldn't get anywhere.
"Alright, just hand your quiz's in and I'll see you tomorrow. Class dismissed." Dr Simon told us.
"See ya." I bud goodbye and walked out of the class.
I regret taking this 3 hour class. All I wanna do is sleep now.
And Evan delayed that sleep by turning me around.
"Ain't you gonna walk with me? We're in the same dorm."
"I could, I guess. Let's go." I looked around for Nick, still wary of his jealousy-out-bursts that I was trying to stir clear of.
"Great, we can finish that homework Sir set us."
HOMEWORK!
Why do you have to interrupt my most important things?!
I groaned, making Evan laugh. "Don't worry darlin' I'll do the majority of it for you." He slug his arm around me like a coat and guided us to our dorm.
