8. Emmy

Emmy's pov
"Class as we all know Emmy is going to be leaving us to move to America! How exciting! I'm sure we will all miss you immensely Emmy and we hope you have a great time there." Mrs Brown lets me wave goodbye to the other kids before mum takes me to the car where we will be going straight to the airport.
My mum and my sister are sitting in the front while I'm alone in the back with my headphones in. We are going to America since my mum got a really good job offer but we all know the real reason.
My dads gone and my mum couldn't hack it. It was too much for her to see the familiar places where they would go so she decided to move continent. I don't mind going I'm just scared that nobody will like me because I'm Scottish.
Plus I'm not a very likeable person. I don't open up easily to people unless I know them really well and even then I never let people get too close to me. I hope that will all change once I get to America.
"Emmy come on we are at the airport" I grab my rucksack and walk into the over air conditioned place standing close to my mum and my big sister Henna.
Henna is only older than me by few years but she still acts as if she's a decade older. "Cmon Ems we are gonna miss our flight if you walk any slower!" I trudge along beside Henna trying not to glare at her since my rucksack is mostly heavy from her emergency make up kit.
I'm 11 and a tomboy so I'm not into all that jazz but apparently she is since she's a "teenager" and has to "look her best" I love my sister to bits really she's my best friend.
My mum tells me to sit down in the window seat and occupy myself so I do that by listening to some of my favourite music like Jay Sean and Beyoncé. "Brokenhearted girl" is my favourite so I play that while looking at Glasgow International Airport become a small speck. Goodbye Scotland hello America.

"Well girls here is is home sweet home!" My mum pulled up beside a cute little house in a quiet neighbourhood which would be our home for the next few years of our lives.
I take my small electric blue suitcase and run in with my rucksack bouncing against my back. My sister runs upstairs to pick her room while I walk into the back and see the back yard that has a mini pool and a swing set left by the old owners. It's quite warm here so I'll probably swim in the pool quite a lot.
"Girls come meet these lovely young boys who live next door!" I walk back inside and tie my black hair up into a pony tail when I see two quite cute guys standing at our door step.
"Hey I'm Declan and this is my younger brother Austin" I look at Austin and feel my cheeks getting warmer and see the same reaction happening with my sister and Declan. Maybe it's the American accent?
"Hi I'm Henna and this is my younger sister Emmy" Austin looks into my eyes when my sister says my name and I hear him briefly mutter under his breath "that's cute" and I blush even more.
"Anyway these two said that they will gladly accompany you both to school tomorrow as Declan goes to the same school as you will Henna and Austin goes to the same on you will Emmy." I nod and see Austin smile at me and I smile back not wanting to be rude.
"So I guess we will see you tomorrow?" I ask Austin and he nods eagerly as they walk away exchanging numbers with us both. I can't wait till tomorrow!

Austin is sitting at the dining table when I come down the stairs chatting with my mum. "Oh there you are Emmy! Declan and Henna just left but Austin insisted on waiting for you." I glance over at him and his cheeks flush. "Cmon Emmy lets go" he pulls me by the hand out of the door and while we walk to school we chat about random things.
"OK I'll walk you to the office so that you can get your time table and then we can see if you have any classes with me?"he looks at me and I nod sealing the deal.
"Sounds good! Great idea" his cheeks flush and I look at him confused but smirk slightly, I'll pick up on this later. I walk up to the office lady and she gives me my timetable after telling her my full name.
"So Ems what do you have first today? Oh history! I'll walk you there." Austin grabs my hand and I forget about the subtle nickname he gave me and walk behind him being pulled into a classroom with a blue door with "POLICE BOX" written on it.
"Hey that's like Doctor who!" I can't help but smile while remembering my favourite show and he ignores my outburst and opens the door to class making 30 students and the teacher look up at us.
"Hey Mr Jamison this is Emmy she's a new student from Scotland!" Austins introduction of me makes a lot of whispers erupt and weird looks at my attire which is normal black skinny jeans and a checkered shirt. Well stuff them then!
"Hello Emmy you can sit next to Madison! Madison put your hand up so that Emmy knows who you are." I see a blonde girl put her hand up near the back and I walk up to her and see her smiling at me widely.
"Hi I'm Madison but then again you already know that" she looks down at the table shyly and I just smile and sit down.
"I'm Emmy" her eyes widen at my accent and I give her a questioning look.
"What's wrong?" She knows she's been caught and just smiles at me.
"Your accent is pretty cool! I'm so jealous! Plus your from the same place as One Direction!" My eyes light up at this and I suddenly notice her 'One direction' binder, pencil case and stationary and I grab onto her arm.
"You like One direction? Oh my god me too!" She smiles excitedly at me and hugs me.
"Yes! You have got to meet my other friend Lynn then because she loves them too! We both like Louis and Harry what about you?"
"Niall girl love" we both flap our hands around like typical fan girls and the bell suddenly rings. Madison looks at my timetable and tells me that we have every class together and I could not be more relieved! When we get out of the classroom Austin is waiting and pulls me into a hug making my eyes light up a bit.
"Hi there babe how was your first class?" I tell him it was good and then I see Madison looking at me as if I crazy for talking to Austin and I give her a questioning look. "Cmon Emmy we've got to get to class. She'll see you later Austin buh bye" she pulls me away and I give honest a quick smile before turning to see Madison frantic.
"Why were you talking to Austin Reed!?" I look at her bewildered and then her attention gets averted my another blonde girl coming up to her and hugging her.
"Hey mads! Is this the newbie?" Madison nods and that girl gives me a look of approval and hugs me too. "Hi there I'm Lynn!" I tell her my name and Madison whispers something in her ear that makes her jaw drop. "You were hanging out with Austin Reed? Girl you are such a goner."
"Why what's wrong with Austin? He seems pretty sweet!" They both immediately start laughing and Lynn starts explaining.
"You see Hun Austin has probably dated every single attractive girl in this year group. He steals hearts and breaks them just as swiftly. Take my advice he's the male version of 'Regina' from Mean Girls since he's also a butt hurt jerk over the people who don't like him. Hence the reason he doesn't like me and Mads, we didn't date him so he took it as a personal offence."
Madison nodded in agreement to what Lynn said and I nodded too realising that it all made sense about how he immediately took a liking to me. "I think I should still give him a chance though since it wouldn't be fair to judge him on rumours." The girls look doubtful but nod anyway.
"Ok whatever you say sister." We all start walking to the next class that we all happen to have together, Math.

I turn my phone off and look at Madison and Lynn talking about One direction and how I fit perfectly since I like Niall.
I don't want to stop being friends with them! Their really nice girls! I like them and I like hanging out with them, Austin can't do anything about it.
The bell rang again and hardly noticed where the time went, at least we aren't doing any actual work it's just handing out jitters and folders.
I open the classroom door to see Austin standing outside leaning against the wall. "Hi Aus... AUSTIN WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" He grabs my arm roughly and drags me out to the school courtyard which is conveniently empty. "Austin that hurts! What the heck?"
He pushes me against a wall and breathes heavily between us and I can feel his chest heaving against mine. "You think that you can disobey me baby girl?" I look up at him with anger evident in my eyes and struggle against his rough and tight grip. "Get off me Austin! I am not your baby girl, baby, babe or anything like that!" He holds my arms tighter that I'm pretty sure he's leaving bruises.
"You are going to listen to me you stupid slut!" My eyes water and I feel my arms getting numb from his rough hold. "You are mine and I don't want you talking to those dumb/stupid girls ok?"
They aren't any of those things" I whimper quietly but he still hears it and smacks my head against the wall really hard. "YOU LISTEN AND DO WHAT I SAY OR I WILL HURT YOU OK?" I hear running footsteps come towards us and shouts of my names coming from the two people I couldn't be more happier to see right now.
"EMMY OH MY GOD GET OFF HER AUSTIN!" They manage to yank him off me and I fall into Mads arms sobbing quietly while Lynn goes up to his face and knees him in the groin. "You freaking * insert any word you want* how dare you hurt my friend! IF YOU DON'T STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HER FROM NOW ON I WILL REPORT YOU TO THE FREAKING POLICE UNDERSTAND?!!!" She knees him again and she comes over to me and Mads hands me over to her while she goes to get a teacher for help.
"Oh Emmy don't you worry you have me and Mads now ok? You'll be ok."
Nothing's changed since then apart from the fact that I gained two phenomenal friends that have stayed by me. I have three phenomenal friends now though since we have Nicole!
We are the closest friends you could ever have. Unfortunately I don't truest anyone that easily anymore especially if they are male. Mads, Lynn and Nicole have tried to help me but I still have violent nightmares of what happened.
Moving forward...My mom wasn't to fond of the whole singing career. She thought it was a disgrace and that I'd be making a fool of myself. She said if I go, I be dishonoring the family name and she can't have it.
It was either I stay and become a doctor or lawyer, or I go and won't be able to come back. There's drama both ways. Henna said she'll support me still, but I practically lost my mom.
But as long as I have my girls by my side, I'll be okay.
