XVII: An Unfamiliar Face
While the fellas were gone, Luke had been holding it down with no problems at all. Everything had been running smoothly, including getting closer to Carly, even though she's not as open as he thought she'd be. It was a regular weeknight, club isn't as packed as the weekends but still a fair amount of people.
Luke walks downstairs to the bar to see what Carly is up to. He leans against the bar and watches until she notices that he's standing there and when she does, she walks over.
"Let me guess, the usual?"
"Jack and Coke, yes ma'am." Carly makes his drink and smiles when she noticed that he's staring.
"Here you go. One Jack and Coke."
"You didn't poison this did you?" He jokes.
"Well you should know. You practically stared me down while I was making it."
He looks down and chuckles. "Guilty." He says picking up the drink. "Thanks for the drink. See you later. My place." He smirks, remembering the first night she came over, she didn't exactly hold back. He takes his drink then walks away.

Back in Texas, Colin and Aaliyah were getting ready to head out to the club. The first few days they were here, we're spent strictly as a family. Colin, before he left New York, told Tommy to handle everything so there would be no interruption of his family time.
When the clock strikes midnight, it'll be Colin's birthday, so a small celebration at the club, and more family time later on in the day. Aaliyah's in the mirror, doing her make-up while Colin is getting dressed.
"How I look?" Colin asks.

"Good. Damn good."
"Good call on going casual."
"You're the one that said you didn't want to wear a suit...even though it's your birthday, so casual was really the only other way to go." She says in a smart aleck tone and he sensed it.
"Don't get smart." He says flatly. "Wait, so I should wear a suit."
"No. You look fine. And if you change, then that means I have to change and then we'll be here for another hour if that happens." She looks back into the mirror to finish her make-up.

"Okay. I'm gonna go check on Jr."
"Ok. I'll be out in a minute." Colin nods and walks out the room. He makes his way to the living room, where he hears the tv on. His mom and CJ are cuddled on the couch watching tv.
"Jr...why are you still up?" Colin says taking a seat on the couch.
"I'm not sleepy."
"Yeah, well, don't stay up too late."
"Colin." His mom says.
"Yeah."
"I got this."
He giggles. "Alright ma. Imma let you get it." Colin says in defeat.
"What time are you and mom coming back?" CJ asks.
"We'll be back in the morning." CJ nods. Aaliyah finally walks in the living room.
"How come you're still awake, papa?"
"Grandma said she got this." He says. Aaliyah looks at Colin.
"What does that mean."
"Exactly what it sounds like. Grandma got it." He reinforces.
"Okay then...you ready to go?"
"Just waiting on you, love." He says standing up. "We'll see y'all in the morning. Jr, be good."
"I will."
"I love you, baby." Aaliyah says giving him a kiss on cheek.
"Love you too."
The two leave and get to the club. Attendance was higher than usual for a week day because it was announced that Colin would be there. Anytime Colin, Cam, Luke or Odell (especially Odell) was at the club, everyone wanted to meet or get a picture with them. Also, people that they knew growing up would also come just to chop it up.
"Wanna chill in our section while I go talk to Eddie real quick? It's right over there." Colin says nodding in the direction of their VIP section.
"Yeah, I'm just gonna grab a drink from the bar, then go."
"There are people over there that'll get you whatever you want."
"That's not necessary."
"Okay...come on I'll walk you over there."
They walk over to the bar, and Colin let's the bartender know to give Aaliyah whatever she asked for. While he went to go talk with Eddie, someone the crew out trust in to run this place while they're not here, Aaliyah sat at the bar and sipped her drink. There were guys that were unaware of who she was with and they all tried to shoot their shot, and she turned them all away. There was one that happened to be very persistent and she couldn't seem to get rid of him. He lasted long enough for Colin to walk up on the two.
"You are very beautiful." He says.
"I know she is." Colin says.
"Oh shit, my bad. She yours bruh?"
"Yes sir, she is."
"My bad. I didn't know."
"Don't worry bout it." Colin says genuinely. He walks away and Colin cuts his eyes at Aaliyah.
"What."
"I leave you for 10 minutes, and you already flirtin with some other nigga."
"I wasn't flirting. I told him that I wasn't interested."
"Mhhm. Okay."
"I'm serious."
"I believe. Shit, I don't blame him, look how gorgeous you are." Colin says, pulling her closer to him. He lifts her chin and plants a kiss on her lips. They kiss as if they're the only ones in the club. "I love you."
"I love you. You handle all your business for the night?"
Colin nods. "Yup. Want another drink?" She nods. He orders them both a drink and they retreat to their section, where they stayed pretty much the whole night.
---------------
After a night at the club, and ending it with Carly, Luke's back at the club handing business. He's standing at the bar and notices an unfamiliar face scoping out the club. Older white male.

He furrows his eyebrows. "Can I help you?"
"Mmm, no."
"Okay. Are you here to see someone?"
"Do you own this establishment?"
"I do. Along with three other people. What exactly can I do for you today?"
"Just checking out your place. It's nice."
"Thank you. Can I get your name?"
"Simon." He says looking around. "Simon Stern." He turns his attention back to Luke.
"Luke Kuechly." He says holding out his hand and Simon shakes it. "Nice to meet you."
"Won't be so nice when I own this place." He says before walking off.
"Excuse me?" Simon doesn't turn back and makes his way out of the club. "What the hell is he talking about." Luke takes out his phone and calls Colin.
