"And I didn't think school could get any scarier." I mumbled to myself as I followed behind Veronica, Betty, and Ethel as they walked into the dark school building.

We had snuck into the school late at night by swiping the janitor's keys. One of Ethel's friends who used to be on the football team said that the playbook was kept in Chuck's locker.

"So," Ethel whispered to me quietly as we crept through the halls, "You and Jughead, huh?"

The curly-haired girl must have noticed my confusion as she giggled lightly, "You two are together, right?"

My eyes doubled in size at Ethel's question, "Uh, no, no. We're just, just friends."

From the front Veronica's voice spoke up as Betty's giggles filled the air, "Yeah sure. Friends that go on dates to Pop's and stare at each other all the time."

"We do not stare!" I defended causing the girls to look at me with a knowing look.

Veronica rolled her eyes as she turned back to look where she was walking, "Whatever. You guys will be together by holiday break."

"I give the by the end of the first quarter!" Betty added in, smiling back at me.

The girls giggled as we continued to make our way down the hall and to the left wing of the school.

"It should be right along here..." Ethel directed as we looked down at the row of lockers.

"You're not gonna find anything." A new voice jumped in from nowhere causing us all to yell out in surprise.

Veronica was the first to calm down as she turned to where the voice had come from, "Cheryl? What are you doing here?"

At the mention of the ginger girl I whirled around on my heels to see sure enough, the last Blossom child was standing there in her four inch heels.

I fidgeted with the end of my black coat, a little nervous as Cheryl and I hadn't talked since the whole guilty thing. I knew she had been back at school but I just hadn't had time to talk, or maybe I just didn't want to.

Cheryl cast a glance at me, her face softening for a second before she turned back to face Veronica.

"You want to try and find some made up playbook invented by little miss nerdettte? Go ahead, but I'm coming with you." The words left the girl's bubblegum lips as she rested her fist on her waist.

"Why?" Betty asked softly.

Cheryl only looked her up and down, "Because if you try and make something up, I'll be there to tell the truth. Chop, chop!" She said, her heels clicking as she walked down the hallway towards Chuck's locker.

I traded glances with Ethel who only shrugged before following after Betty and Veronica.

"Do you know the combination?" Cheryl asked Veronica as we reached Chuck's locker. Veronica narrowed her eyes at the girl.

"No. Why on earth would I have Chuck's locker combination?"

"Because you gave him a sticky maple."

Veronica's eyes widened at Cheryl's comment before they were quickly filled with rage, "Listen up Cheryl_Bombshell, I don't know what on earth has got you thinking you are on a higher pedestal than everyone else in the world. But heads up, Sharpay. This is not a movie where you break out into song and dance and get everything you want, this is the real world, welcome and enjoy your stay."

As the two girls glared at each other, Betty cleared her throat. Causing us all to turn and face her to see she had the locker wide open, a ruler in her other hand that she had used to pry apart the metal.

"Good job, Bets." I told the blonde haired girl as I reached into the locker and rummaged around in it. Only stopping when I felt a book different than the rest.

"Flashlight?" I called for, thanking Ethel as she slipped it into my hands.

I shone the light on the title, Riverdale Football Playbook.

"This is it." I mumbled to the rest of the girls, flipping the book open and going through the pages.

I scanned through the lines as each of them read a girl's name, number of points, and than the player that earned them. It was disgusting.

"New girl?" Veronica read from the book as she saw her name next to Chuck's. She looked over at Betty and I. "Is that what I have been reduced to?"

"It's better than the fat loser." Ethel added, reading off her own name, Betty placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

I flipped to the front of the book where the older entries where.

"Oh my god," The words escaped Cheryl's mouth as she looked over my shoulder at the page, "Jason."

I looked down to see his name and mentally winced at the name next to his thought Betty saw it to.

"Polly." She barley whispered, I turned to face her, shutting the book.

"Betty." I tried to comfort my friend, though she shook her head and looked down at the book.

"Who else? Who else was subjected to this?" I looked to Betty for an sign of hurt in sadness but her face just held determination.

I looked over at Veronica who nodded numbly as I opened up the book again.

"Hey, this is from July first." Veronica announced, pointing at a date of the page.

"They must of had a summer practice." Ethel suggested.

My eyes scrolled down the page, looking over the names when one line caught my attention,
