Chapter 12~ "The history of lesbain hair."
•picture of Caseys parents•
"What happened with you two?" Holly asks me as we take a seat in the cafeteria.
"Nothing happened." I say through gritted teeth for the hundredth time.
"That's not true." Seth joins in.
"We're friends. Friends fight. Friends make up. It's the circle of friendship and right now we are in the friends fight part of the cycle so give it time and we will be in friends make out. I mean up."
Holly gasps and her eyes lit up.
"You made out didn't you?"
"We didn't make out." I lie.
"Who didn't make out?" A familiar voice says from behind me and I freeze.
Casey sits down beside me and I turn away because I'm awkward af.
"It can't have been me and Emily because we totally made out." He says and I turn my head around fast.
"Can I talk to you please?" I say standing up.
"Aw oh." I hear Holly and Seth say.
I wait outside the door to the cafeteria for Casey and when he comes out, I start hitting him repeatedly.
"Here comes the King of subtle. The King of awkwardness and the King of freaking stupidness." I repeat.
"Hey hey hey." He says grabbing my hands making me stop.
"So what you're saying is, I'm a King?" He smirks and I start hitting him again.
"Why did you tell them we kissed?"
"I didn't. I told them we made out. There's a difference." He points out.
"Shall I demonstrate?" He questions as he puckers his lips and leans in.
I slap him on the cheek, hard but not too hard that'll leave a mark.
"Emily. I'm sorry I told them but I needed to do something to break the awkwardness. If I never said that what would we be doing right now?"
I drop my head and murmur something.
"Sorry what? I didn't catch that?" He says moving his ear closer.
I murmur the same thing.
"What?"
"Not talking." I yell and he smirks.
"What I believe you should be saying is thank you." He says.
"Don't push your luck." I say pushing his shoulder.
"So push me instead?" He jokes and I laugh walking back into the cafeteria.
They all look at us cautiously while we sit down.
"Part 2 yet?" Hol asks cautiously.
"Part 2." I smile and nod.
"So what are you guys talking about?" Casey asks as he drinks his soda.
"The history of lesbian hair." Seth answers casually.
"As you do." I mutter.

"You want a ride to the hospital?" Casey asks as I finish at my locker.
"Um, no thanks. My cars in the lot." I smile.
"I know, I seen you pull up this morning. It was just an excuse to go with you." He smiles and I blush.
BLUSH!
What are you doing to me Case?
"What about football?"
"Cancelled."
"Oh well then sure."
We walk out to the parking lot and luckily enough, our cars are parked beside each other.
"See ya in a bit." I say hopping in my seat.
"Right behind you."
I reverse out of my parking spot and turn on Z-100.
A familiar song that me and Casey claimed was 'ours' in the 10th grade started to played.
I looked into my rear view mirror and see Casey smirking and moving slowly in his car, dancing making me laugh.
The song was "Don't Run Away" by David Archuleta.
We were at a school dance and Holly and Seth forced us into dancing when that song came on because at the exact same time, we said we hated that song and to this day, I still hate it but hey, it's our song. What can you do?
We quickly arrive at the hospital and I meet Casey at the front door.
Last week, I ditched the crutches because I felt like I had power over my foot so I've been walking around and doing my recommended exercises and boy I can't wait to get this cast bandage off of me.
But it's not even just yet, I still have to keep it on me for a few days which means no cheerleading for me at the homecoming game.
"You okay Em?" Casey asks me.
I nod my head and smile.
We walk into the reception.
"Name and age please." The receptionist questions.
"Um, Emily Hunter. 17."
"Doctor Scott will be right with you. Just take a seat over there." She says not making eye contact with me.
"Doctor Scott? What about Doctor Cyprus?" I question.
It took me two years to get comfortable with Oscar Cyprus. Hell if I'm gonna move onto another one.
The receptionist sighs and looks over her glasses at me.
"Doctor Cyprus warned me about you. Don't worry, he left you in the well capable hands of his nephew."
"His nephew? If Doctor Cyprus was only like 40, how old is his freaking nephew?" Casey asks.
"19." She answers.
"19? That means he's only got 1 year of college experience in med school." I say.
"He skipped the seventh and eighth grade and became a freshmen at the age of 12. He finished school at age 16. He only had to do 3 years of med school because he was so advanced." She explains.
"Oh no, he's a nerd." I whine.
"Who's a nerd?" A voice says from behind me.
I turn around and my jaw drops.
I want this fine specimen in front of me to be my doctor oh my God. His jawline is so sharp you'd need a bandaid if you tapped it. His piercing blue eyes are hypnotising and his gelled blonde hair is just the icing.
"D-doctor Scott." I stutter.
"I wouldn't call me a nerd now but thanks for your opinion." He smirks and my mouth opens even wider if that's even possible.
I quickly close my mouth and walk over to a seat making the doctor chuckle.
"Okay, who's next. Emily Hunter."
I close my eyes tightly and raise my hand awkwardly.
"Ah nerd girl. Right this way." He chuckles and we follow.
I sit on the bed and after a few seconds of going through my files, Doctor Scott walked over to me.
"So Emily, what happened here?" He asks.
"Um, I fell and hurt my leg."
"Okay. So I see you are scheduled to get your bandage removed. So we'll get right to it." He says.
He takes the bandage off the examines my foot before walking away.
"The swelling has gone down a lot which is good but I still see bruising so it may be sensitive. Just stay off it for a week or so." He explains.
"Do you do any sports or physical activities?"
"Um, yeah. Cheerleading. And the homecoming game is Friday. Does that mean I can't cheer?" I question.
"We'll see what your situation is like on Thursday at 4. Be back here then."
"Okay thank you doctor Scott." I smile and hop off the bed.
"And I'm sorry about earlier. You are definitely not a nerd." He chuckles.
"Well they don't call me Fit Vince for fun." He says and I chuckle.
"Vince? As in Vince Scott?" Casey says in shock.
"Wait, you're Vince Scott?" I say.
"Indeed."
"You are a football legend in Ocean View High." Casey says.
"You two go to Ocean View?"
"Yeah." We both answer.
"Do you play?" He asks Casey.
"Yeah I do. You're my inspiration."
"That's so good to hear. What position?"
"Uh, I'm quarterback."
"And you're a cheerleader?" I nod.
"Talk about clichés." He says I chuckle.
"No we are best friends. That's all." I smile.
"So you're single?"
"As a matter of fact, I am." I smile.
"And you're 17 you say." He says and I chuckle.
"And I'm 19." He smirks making me chuckle even more and he joins in.
"Okay Em, we should probably go. Thanks Doctor Scott. It was great meeting you." Casey smiles.
"Thank you." He replies.
"Thanks doctor Scott." I smile.
"Goodbye Emily."
we walk out the door and my back hits the door.
Mother of god he is smoking.
Not as good as Casey though, right?
What? Shut up brain!
You like Casey. Don't lie.
You're right. I do. I really do.
And that kiss?
That kiss was the best kiss of my life. It wasn't too fast or too hard. It was slow and gentle, and perfect.
Caseys perfect. We, would be perfect.
But our friendship is perfect. And if anything else happens, it could ruin it.
But things could get better!
But things could get worse. And I'm not taking the chance.
