Options Given

Callie stood at the bathroom sink. Her hands on either side of the basin with her weak arms struggling to hold her weight.
Tears flooded from her eyes as they splattered against the bottom of the sink. She hurt so much. She felt like she  couldn't stop crying. She felt like she could hardly breathe.
She closed her eyes hard trying to stop the tears as she whimpered quietly.
How could it of come to this. She finally had everything she wanted, at least everything. She had just been adopted and was finally safe from foster homes and social workers. She was finally living the life she wanted to live. And this secret, this lie, is consumed her everything. She had always been honest, even when she shouldn't have been.
She turned on the tap and began to run her hands through the cold water. She wiped away her tears as cold water kissed her skin and it reminded her of something. When she finally came to the Fosters house and she stood balling her eyes out in the bathroom because she was so scared of the situation she was in. It much like she was now. Crying, scared of the situation she was in.
She walked over to the towel rack and dabbed the towel gently over he face a few times, at least trying to look like she hadn't been crying.
She opened the door and walked back into her room.
Mariana laid on her bed with her phone in her hand and her glasses on.
Callie walked pass sternly and Mariana grew curious.
"You alright?" She asked shifting her eyes from her Facebook feed to Callie, who was sitting down on her bed.
Callie didn't reply she just looked down at her bed sheets.
"Callie?" Mariana sung trying to get her attention.
"I don't wanna talk about it." She snapped back instantly as she shot her head to Mariana.
Mariana frowned and the door opened gently.
Lena stuck her head through the door clearly hearing what Callie had said.
She pushed the door open further then stepped into the room.
"Hey, I need to have a word with Callie for a moment." Lena said looking at Mariana.
Mariana frowned even more then sat up from her bed.
"I should probably call Lexi anyway."
Mariana walked past Lena and left the room.
Callie lowered her head and went back to looking at her sheets, but this time she only focused on Lena's soft high heels making their way across the room.
Lena sat down on the bed next to Callie and let out a little exhausted groan.
"I remember the first time you moved in here, Mariana kept picking every little thing we did."
Callie smiled gently.
"Having to share a wardrobe, having to share an entire room." Lena laughed gently. "You two always acted like sisters, even more now that you are."
Callie swallowed as she realised what Lena was doing. She was telling her in some cryptic way that not matter what the sisterly bond her and Mariana had will never fade, they will always be sisters.
There was a short pause between the two then Callie spoke.
"We came home, after Idyllwild," Callie began. Lena looked to her in interest. "We held hands at the front door..."
Callie's voice began to grow quaky and sad.
"we were gonna tell you...that we were together." She shrugged like it was stupid. "Then I get adopted."
Lena bit the inside of her lip almost as if it was hurting her too.
"I snuck into Brandon's room to tell him that I loved him and, and that no matter what happened...I would always love him."
Lena looked down as she felt her bosom begin to blur with tears.
"We were so stupid to think that." Callie finalised as she stared towards her down like a statue as she could feel her stomach knot inside of her.
"You weren't stupid." Lena shook her head slightly.
Callie looked across to her in sadness. "Then what were we?"
Lena turned to Callie and could see the pain in her eyes. She breathed in then spoke softly.
"Brave." She nodded slightly. "You were brave."
Callie replied with a small thankful smile than looked away and sniffed her nose and let out a little laugh, almost as if she was snapping herself back into reality.
"So I guess you don't want me anymore, huh? After slutting it up with my foster brother then getting adopted?" Callie asked as she wiped away her tears and giggled slightly.
Lena smiled then her face became stern.
"Of coarse we still want you." She began. "Adoptions can be reversed, Callie. You just have to figure out what you want more....a family ...or Brandon."
Callie looked up to her almost stunned that she was giving her that option. Of coarse it was only her. The opinions of the other four members still counted. But to be given the option in the first place... That was huge.
