Chapter 11: Files
Hajimes POV
We all gathered at the restaurant as usual, but it was still pretty quiet. After that trial, and the way Nagito acted, we all were in a state of pure shock.
"Y-yo Hajime." Kazuichi said. Yep, just as I thought. The atmosphere was very quite.
"What's up with you guys faces, it looks like you just went to 2 funerals at the same time." Hiyoko said with her bitchy attitude. "But we did!" Kazuichi said. The conversation just kept getting worse. Akane pointed out how Hiyoko smelled, and we all then noticed how bad it was. Actually, Mahiru offered to help her with it. And then Monokuma showed up.
"Alright, which one of you did it?!" He said angrily. "What are you talking about you feind?" Gundam responded. "My monobeast! What happened to my monobeast?"
"(Y/N) we do-" Peko was then interrupted by Monokuma. "DON'T CALL ME (Y/N), MY NAME IS MONOKUMA RIGHT NOW." He snapped. A lot of us were surprised at his sudden reaction. "O-ok, Monokuma, we don't know what happened to your monobeast." Peko said. "Aright' if I find out you were lyin', your getting punished!" He said as he left yet again.
"What was that all about?" I said. "He acted a little strange there." Nekomaru said. Chiaki replied, "She probably just doesn't want us to refer to her as her real name." Why can't we call her (Y/N)? My thoughts were cut off as Monomi appeared.
"Hello students! I have a very important announcement" she said cheerfully. "Just get to the point." Mahiru said coldly. "You d-don't ha-have to be s-so rude." Mikan stated.
"Anyway, the monobeast that disappeared was defeated by me!" she proudly said. "Now way, how the hell did you kill that thing?" Kazuichi said.
"Anything is possible if you believe!" That sounded so cheesy. "But now, you can search another island." Now we're getting somewhere.
After some time, we all decided to check out the new island. There was some ruins of a place that looked like Hope's Peak Academy, a diner, and a beach house. Lastly, there was a library.
I walked into the library to find Sonia looking at a brochure. "Did you find anything Sonia?" I asked. "Possibly, I have found a brochure of this island here, do you want to take a look at it?" I nodded and went over to where Sonia was. "What does it say? I can't read it" the brochure was in another language.
"Well, it says that the statue at the park, is in the center of a building, but as I recall, there isn't a building there." She said. That's right, at the park center, there is no building surrounding the statue.
"Well you guys are catchin' up!" The loud and screeching voice of Monokuma was heard. "Uhg, what do you want, Monokuma?"
"Seriously, what's your problem?! Anyway, as you know, this library is full of police records and ect. I just came to add another file to the cases, but if you want to take a look, be my guest." He said as he threw a file on the table. He was about to leave before I heard him mumble something.
"And who knows, maybe it's very important? Upupupu"
He left without another word, leaving me very curious about the file. Sonia had apparently left when Monokuma arrived, so I was the only one in the library. My curiosity got the better of me as I skimmed through the file.
"W-what is this?"
Looking through the file, I noticed how it talked about an investigator who would hunt down criminals. When the police found the victim, they were knocked out. The strangest part about the case was the wounds on the victim. All of the victims wounds were cauterized using these strange purple flowers. When the police had gotten rid of the flowers, they were very warm, and they were believed to be the cause of the cauterization. Nothing was ever seen like this before. In addition, depending on the crimes the criminal was either wounded, or executed. No one has even seen the person, they didn't know if it was a guy or a girl. They nicknamed the case...
The Lavender Inquisitor
It seems like the Inquisitor didn't manage to reach their goal, not yet at least.
Monokuma did hint that this file is important, I should keep it with me and show it to the others to see what they think about it. I feel like I've heard of this person on the news before.
We all gathered at the restaurant again to report our findings.
"So did we find anything useful searching the islands?" Peko said. "Well, the food at the diner is good." The Yakuza said. I guess he decided to join us today.
"Did you really come here to just say that?" Hiyoko yelled. "Well, it's good to know the food doesn't have laxatives or poison in it bitch!" "ALRIGHT KNOCK IT OFF" I yelled at them. They both looked surprised.
"What the fuck did you say? Yell at me again, and you won't have any more fingers." He came up to me threateningly.
"Well, have you heard of the Lavender Inquisitor?" I told him.
Surprisingly, he jumped back at the response and looked at me with a surprised look. "T-the Lavender Inquisitor? How the fuck do you know about them?"
"Lavender Inquisitor? Who the heck are they?" Mahiru asked. I pulled out the file and was about to read it to them, but Fuyuhiko stopped me.
"The Lavender Inquisitor was an investigator who injured countless Yakuza members to interrogate them, some, even ended up being killed. They would cut them and then cauterize the wounds with strange lily-like flowers."
"How do you know so much about this Inquisiwhosawhatsit." Kazuichi said. "I'm the heir to the yakuza clan dumbass. I need to know these things."
"Does that mean you've seen them before? Or at least know what they look like?" I asked.
"Ironically, no. They apparently never showed any part of themselves to any of their victims. From what the members said, they hid in the shadows. Even with their voice, it was hard to tell if they were male or female, it was always muffled. Why the hell did you bring this here to talk about?" He said.
"Well, Monokuma, that's why. He came by the library to drop this off and before he left, he said it was really important."
"That's true! I saw it as I had left the library." Sonia spoke up. "Does that mean one of us is the Lavender Inquisitor?" Ibuki said.
"I guess that's a possibility."
A/N: Holy fuck this is 1121 words long. Anyway, a nice, long chapter for not updating this for a while back.
