Michael (16)
It happened two months ago, when your oldest and only brother was away on an eight month tour with his band mates and best friends. As the days went on, you became more and more sad because he was the only person who gave you light in your dark teenage times, not even your parents could provide that. At first, the odd occasional voice inside your head caught you off guard, but you never thought anything of it so you continued your life, alone and waiting for the day when you could be in the comfort of your brother's arms again. The bullies at your school weren't helping the situation either. When your best friend found out about the whole 'voices inside your head' situation, she told everyone in the school, only to twist the story a little bit.
They would torment you, call you a freak and a psychopath for having people, who you had no idea who they were inside your head. Your mum and dad found out about the voices when they came home from work one day to see plates, glasses smashed on the floor and the table in the kitchen broken in half. It was almost like the voices in your head were possessing you, tearing you apart bit by bit. Over the course of the next month, your mum took you to a mental hospital to see a doctor so they could see what was going through your head at that moment. They ran some tests and found out that you had a serious case of schizophrenia, and for such a young age, you would have to stay at the mental hospital for a month, because it was too dangerous for you to be at home.
One morning, Michael came to visit the hospital to surprise you as he had finished his tour. He was told that you weren't right in the head and that broke his heart; his little sister was going insane and there was nothing he could do about it. As he walked into the spacious room, with plain, white walls and a plain, white floor he took one look at you and almost burst into tears on the spot. You sat in the corner of the room on your bed and stared at the wall in front of you, your face expressionless and pale. You wore nothing but a white gown and a pair of matching socks. White was the only colour that made you calm, so the doctors made an entire room of white to make you feel as relaxed as possible. "Y/N." Michael choked out, a single tear falling down his face. You didn't reply, react or blink. You just sat there, your arms folded over your aching stomach, your head spinning.
He slowly walked over to you, and sat down on single bed next to you. With hesitation, he placed a hand on your shoulder, making you flinch and him immediately pull away. For the first time, your dark, tired eyes met Michaels green ones and you saw something that you hadn't seen in a very long time. Love. Tears immediately formed in your eyes as you flung your arms round Michaels neck and sobbed into his shoulder. Your brother rubbed circles in your back as he shushed you, telling you how much he loved you and he would never leave you for that long again. "Everything's going to be okay, Y/N. I'm here now and I'm going to help you."
