XXX: Confrontation

I saw a glint from the corner of my eye charging at me in unmatchable speed.

I snapped my head to the direction it came from, seeing a dark shadow charging at me.

Sasuke noticed it to for he stepped in between us as it continued to charge at us in full speed.

But a sharp gasp escaped my lips as I watched the shadow go right through Sasuke's body.

The last thing I could see was his rage filled eyes on me, his face tightened in confusion as he reached his hand out to mine.

And then the shadow collided with my stomach, sending me shooting backwards, through dozens of trees. My veil that had covered my eyes flew off in the process. I had surrounded myself with my own chakra to limit the impact it would have had on my body.

I yelped in pain as I felt my back hit a jagged rock, my back colliding with its sharp point. It pierced through my skin and barely nicked my spine, as I sent out a pained cry.

I fell to the ground, trying quickly to formulate a plan in my mind as I pushed myself up slowly to my feet. Thankfully Shiroryuu was already at work as the horrid pain in my back started to disappear just as quickly as it came.

"Who are you?"

I lifted my head at the sound of a deep voice, meeting striking purple eyes, that held an intense ripple pattern within.

An Akatsuki.

I smirked, pushing myself up to my feet.

"Most people call me Princess." I knew I shouldn't kid around in this kind of situation, since I had no idea what I was up against.

"Am I correct that you are one of Orochimaru's experiments?" He directed with narrowed eyes.

I rolled my eyes.

"Sadly, yes."

"You're the only one of Orochimaru's experiments that I have not heard of. And why is that?"

"Because he's a bastard. And besides, I'm your future wife." I grinned, trying to lighten up this uncomfortable situation I was in.

His glare harshened.

I put my hands up in surrender. "I'm kidding! Geez!"

He continued to scrutinize me with his intimidating eyes. And not only that, but he had... bolts and stuff implanted in his face. Doesn't that hurt?

But besides that... Should I tell him the truth? This guy looks pretty scary, which makes him powerful. I'd love to fight him, but there was also the chance of endangering Shiroryuu, which I couldn't let happen. As Father had told me many times, once the Akatsuki find out who I truly am, they'll all come after me in their kick ass flock.

But something tells me this guy wouldn't leave unless I gave him what he wanted.

"Why would Orochimaru have kept a girl by the likes of you locked away?"

"I'm his daughter." I said.

The Akatsuki was in front of my face in a split second, peering down into my eyes.

From the looks of it, he didn't believe me.

"He never had a daughter."

"As of six years ago he did."

"Then you aren't the reason he left the Akatsuki."

"Obviously not." I said matter of factly, crossing my arms.

"Your chakra control is impressive." I would have taken that as a compliment if he still wasn't glaring down at me, invading my personal space.

"So?"

"Being the daughter of Orochimaru, your abilities must be great in power."

Keep calm, Miyako. He's just trying to intimidate you. Find out what you're really about. I reminded myself.

Be careful with this one.

But still. I wanted to challenge this.. Akatsuki. And he was decent looking, aside from the stuff implanted in his face. Now that I think about it, this guy actually resembled Naruto a bit.

"And would you like to see my abilities?" I asked him sweetly, taking a step to him so we were no longer an inch apart.

I didn't want for his reply as I reached up and cupped his cheek. Surprisingly he didn't slap my hand away, his glare loosening. His jaw dropped slightly, shocked by my direct approach.

I stood up on my tip toes, snaking my other arm around his neck.

I continued to move my face closer to his, pulling his face down to mine.

I stopped an inch from his lips, looking into his cool purple eyes.

"I never got your name." I whispered against his lips.

His eyebrows furrowed in response.

"Pain."

Pain?

Pain?

I was caught off guard when he suddenly pulled me into him, crushing his lips into mine.

I had no intention to kiss him at all. I planned to seduce him under my touch and my eyes so I could figure out his weakness.

He wrapped his arms around me as if trying to absorb me into him.

I shoved at his chest, trying to pull away from this kiss, but he only forced my mouth open.

I winced when I felt a sharp painful feeling as our tongues danced. It caused a shiver of excitement to rush through me, as I pulled myself in closer to him. Since my first approach obviously didn't work, I tried to push some of my chakra into him, but it was like he was overcoming me. It took a massive amount of force to leak just a tiny bit of my chakra into him to find out what he was really about.

Miyako, stop this, now!

It took Shiroryuu's voice to help me realize that this was like a kiss of poison.

As I focused my chakra on his hands to force him off of me, he suddenly disappeared from my arms.

I gasped for air, collapsing onto my knees as my entire body trembled.

I don't know what the hell just happened. But I know I made a mistake, making the wrong move on the wrong guy. Well, he made the move on me, but I was the one that had instigated it.

If only Father had told me about the Akatsuki, I could have known what I had just gotten myself into.

"I tend to leave women breathless." I heard his voice from behind me.

"But in most cases, they would usually be dead by now."

I whipped around, swinging my leg back, only to see that he was no longer there.

"Tell me your name." His voice sounded from above me.

"Sorry. I don't tell strangers my name." I said, still panting.

I felt his presence suddenly appear before me as I silently performed a jutsu. I tried to ignore the fact that explosions could be heard back from where Sasuke was. I guess his opponents are giving him a hard time too.

I wasn't surprised when he lifted me up by the throat, holding me in the air as I gripped onto his wrist.

"You're quite clever. I'm not sure I like it."

"I won't tell you m-my name, but I will tell you what they used to call me by." I choked out, slowly running out of air.

"And what is that?"

"Hidden Assassin of the Five Nations."

He released his hold on me just as I focused my power into my lightning jutsu, missing his skin by a mere half a second.

I gritted my teeth together in frustration.

I can't let him get to me.

And I can't let him leave here knowing so much about me already.

I slammed my hand on the ground, as the earth begun to tremble underneath me.

I built a protective earth wall around me, as I sat there cross legged and began to meditate.

-

Pain

This girl.

I didn't believe it at first when she had told me she was the illegitimate daughter of Orochimaru.

But it had sunk in that this girl wouldn't have meant so much to him if he hadn't kept her isolated most of her life.

Just who is she to Orochimaru?

I could feel her chakra slowly rising. I had no clue what she was doing underneath the rock wall she had built herself, but it was quite troubling.

And her eyes. The most beautiful blue I had ever seen. When she had tried seducing me, which nearly worked, I noticed a golden glint in those blue irises of hers. Instantly I assumed she was drawing me to her to trick me, so I kissed her to undo her spell.

The kiss was more passionate than I'd imagined it would be.

The earth fortress dissolved around her as I watched her stand up in the midst of the dust, her pale blue chakra covering her body, head bowed as her hair covered her face.

I watched her, as I felt Zetsu watching us carefully.

The second this girl snapped her head up, I knew.

She really is the daughter of Orochimaru, her eyes had shifted to the same golden hue as the snake's.

She was quick. I almost wasn't able to dodge her attack from my right side.

Even when she barely touched me, her chakra burned through my cloak with each swipe.

This girl. She was strong.

But I didn't want to use my jutsu on her. I don't want to kill her; I want to use her instead.

"Sir."

Zetsu emerged from the shadows just as I dodged another one of this girl's attacks.

Throughout this short period of time I had been dodging her attacks, I already knew she could use earth style from the fortress she built around herself. But during this little dance, she had used lightning style, wind style, and fire style.

She would make a wonderful Akatsuki.

I swiftly pushed the girl down with much more force than I had expected to.

"What is it, Zetsu?"

"Deidara seems to be at the end of his line now. As does Sasuke Uchiha. They will probably end up destroying each other in the end."

Hmm. Interesting.

I turned my attention down to the panting girl, as she glared up at me, ignoring Zetsu's presence completely.

"If I were you, I wouldn't waste time on fighting myself any longer. Your friend, Sasuke Uchiha, seems to be in danger. I'll let you go and save him this one time... But the next time we meet, you will be mine."
