"You know, that was really stupid. You know how much he hates you and then you get in a fight with him and pull a gun?" I sighed.
"He started it." Carl defended himself.
"You guys aren't seven, you can't pull that kinda shit. Carl, if he killed you. . ." I shook my head and sighed, looking back at his hand as I cleaned his cut up knuckles. Carl and Ron had just gotten into a fight and trashed the garage, letting the walkers in. We boarded up the garage door so they can't get in from the inside, but it's still not any safer.
"I'm not dying. Hey, I'm not." Carl put his hand on my cheek. I let out a shaky breath and nodded.
I heard someone knock on the door and walk in. It was Rick.
"I have a plan."

We stood at the front porch, staring out into the herd. There has to be thousands of walkers here.
I looked over at Carl, who nodded at me, telling me everything would be okay. I sighed and looked up at Rick. He put his hand on the back of my neck and nodded too. Nobody talked. Maybe it was because they were scared the walkers would notice or because there really wasn't anything to say.
We all wore bedsheets with holes cut out of our heads. We had brought a walker in, killed it, and then covered ourselves in its blood and guts to disguise us as one of them. I think it's a long shot, but Rick said he did this before, and so I trusted him.
I looked back at Carl. I mouthed an 'I love you' to him and he sent me a small smirk.
"I know." He mouthed. I smiled slightly and nodded. We all grabbed each others hands. Rick, me, Sam, Jessie, Carl (who was holding Judith under the sheet), Ron, And Gabriel(who had just recently joined us) and michonne. We began walking down the steps together and I immediately got a walker snarling in my face and I took in a breath, looking away. It turned away and I bit my lip as we walked further.
The sun started to go down, making it slightly darker. I don't know how long we were walking or where we were even going, but when I looked back I noticed Gabriel and Judith were gone. It created a little panic, but Carl didn't look worried about it, so I didn't think about it. I was zoned out for most of the walk, anyways.
"Mom?"
I lightly squeezed Sam's hand to try to get him to stop talking.
"Mom." Sam spoke louder. I felt him let go of my hand and I turned around, making Rick turn around too. There was a space between Me and Rick and Jessie and the others. Sam had stopped and was crying, scared.
"Sam, come on. Just a little bit longer, I promise." Jessie said. Sam shook his head, tears coming down his cheeks. Jessie and Ron tried to comfort him for a couple minutes, but no luck. I decided to step in.
"Hey, Sam. Nothing's gonna happen to you, remember? I'm gonna protect you, alright? None of the monsters are gonna get you as long as I'm around. I promise. We have to keep moving, come on, bud." I said. He looked at me and nodded.
"But I'm scared." He cried. I nodded.
"So am I." I admitted, nodding, "But just grab my hand and you don't have to be scared anymore. You don't have to be scared because I won't let anything happen to you." I said. I reached my hand out to him and he looked at me for a moment. I glanced behind him and I mumbled Sam's name.
"Sam, mo--" I saw the walker bite into his shoulder and I froze. "N-no. . ." I mumbled. Rick brought me closer to him as Jessie cried out.
"Jessie, we gotta go." Rick Said. She still had Carl's hand.
"Jessie, come on. We gotta get out of here." Carl said. Jessie didn't move. She stared at her son, laying on the ground surrounded by walkers. I noticed a few walkers come near her, she noticed them too. But she didn't move
"Jessie, let's go." I said. A walker came up to her and bit into her neck. She screamed and I let out a loud cry. I looked over at Carl and saw the walkers noticing us. He tugged on his hand. Jessie kept her grip on his hand.
"Dad!" Carl said, tugging on his arm. Rick stared at Jessie, mumbling 'no' a few times. The look on his face as he stared at her was enough to make anyone break down.
"Rick!" I shouted, trying to take his axe. He had a strong grip on it.
"Dad!" Carl shouted again. Rick snapped out of it and rushed up, bringing up his axe and swinging it down at Jessie's arm twice. I put a hand up to my mouth as I watched Rick walk back over to me.
"Let's go, guys." He said. I turned around but froze when I heard the click of a gun. I turned around, standing behind Rick. Ron stood there, his gun pointed at Rick.
"You. . ." He glanced down at his mother, then back at our direction. He was shaking.
"Ron--" I started, but he interrupted me.
"You!" He repeated. I breathed heavily and looked at him. "You did this!" I stared at him and out my hand on my gun
"What are you getting bullets for?" I asked, making Ron jump and shove the bullets into his pocket. We had finished teaching him how to shoot, and he's been following Carl around most of the day. I got a shady feeling from him. Something wasn't right with him.
"Didn't Rick tell you not to waste the bullets?" I asked. He nodded, looking over at me. He began walking away and I let him walk past me.
"Who're you thinking of shooting?" I asked, making him freeze. "Rick? Carl? My father? Or were you just thinking of trying to rid of the walkers with only a fe bullets? I don't see any other reason to carry a loaded gun, unless you're trying to kill someone here. Who is it, Ron?" I asked, turning around and walking up to him, holding my own gun.
"What, you gonna take the bullets away? Here." He clenched his jaw and held out the bullets. I shrugged, taking out my own gun. Rick let me have his Python, since he has a new gun.
"I'm not gonna take your bullets. You have a good reason to be carrying them. But, I'm warning you, I got a few years of experience with this stuff," I whispered, getting real close to him.
"You hurt anyone, I'll take my gun and fire a bullet right. . .here." I whispered slowly, placing my gun on his forehead, between his eyebrows. He gulped, obviously getting nervous.
"You won't kill me." He said back. I smirked, amused at how sure he was.
"Try me." I taunted, slowly putting my gun back and backing up.
"You saying this makes me wanna do it all the more." He said lowly.
"Go ahead. Just know you have us to deal with after. Goodbye, Ron." I smiled before turning around and walking away.
"You know, you really creep me out!" He yelled, his voice shaky.
"Good." I answered back, walking away.
I slowly took my gun out, hiding it behind my leg. Ron turned the safety off and aimed it at Rick. His finger went over the trigger and I raised my own gun, pointing it at him. Before I could even shoot, michonne stabbed him through the chest. A bullet fired off and I flinched, dropping my gun. I looked up, seeing Ron on the ground and everybody still standing. I let out a breath of relief and looked over at Rick. He was okay. I saw him staring at someone. I followed his gaze and saw him looking at Carl.
He turned around, staring at the ground. Through his long hair I saw what looked like a little stream of blood running down his right cheek. My heart pounded inside my chest as he looked up. Ron shot him in the eye. His eye was gone. Now it was nothing but blood and torn flesh. My breath caught in my throat as tears welled up in my eyes.
"Dad?" Carl whispered, falling to the ground with a thud. I began breathing heavily as I saw all the blood coming from him.
"No!" I screamed, falling to my knees with him. I crawled over to him and let out a sob as I got a good look at his eye. People don't survive this kinda thing. I slammed my fist on the pavement as I cried. "No no no!"
A walker came up beside me and I screamed, picking up my gun and firing three bullets in its chest. It stumbled to the ground and I crawled over to it, pulling out my knife and stabbing it in the head. I turned back around and saw Carl.
He's dead. I thought, dead, dead, dead. And suddenly I longed for one of his kisses. I longed for the feeling of his arms around me, or even just his hand. I longed to hear his voice, his laugh. . . Even his snoring that would annoy the hell out of me any other day.
I weakly shook his shoulder, catching a glimpse of my ring. I shut my eyes and slammed my hand on the ground again, taking a shaky breath.
"CARL!"
