"Babe, come here!" I called from the bathroom. I stood by the sink and waited for him to walk in.
"What's wrong?" Carl asked. I had my toothbrush in my hand and my wet hair was up in the messiest bun ever. I had wrapped a towel around me and all I needed to do was brush my teeth, but there was no more toothpaste.
"Do you have any more toothpaste?" I asked. He raised his eyebrows and chuckled, shaking his head.
"Not anymore, you've been using mine for the last two weeks after yours ran out." He said. I frowned and sighed, placing my toothbrush back on the sink. I watched Carl leave the room and I turned around and looked into the mirror. I took my hair out of the bun and fixed it so it looked half decent. From the reflection of the mirror I saw Carl was back into the bathroom, holding something in his hands.
"Mints. Just till our dads get some more toothpaste." Carl said.
"My dads going on a run and he never told me?" I asked. Carl shrugged and I opened up the mint package, popping one into my mouth.
"Carl, come here!" Michonne and Rick called from the next room over. Carl bounced the tennis ball up and down and tossed it to me. I caught it with two hands and tossed it on the bed. I grabbed my clothes, which was just black jeans with one of Carl's flannels.
"Melissa, get in here!" Michonne called. I walked out of the room and wrapped me arm around Carl's waist, poking my head.
"Hello." I smiled, seeing Rick standing in the room. I looked beside us at michonne.
"A little birds told me that a certain Dixon was stashing some mints." Michonne said. She was in a bath robe and had her hair up in a towel.
"Aw, damn. Must be the other Dixon. Sorry." I smirked, shrugging. Michonne put a fake frown on her face and tilted her head.
"Have I ever told you how much I like you?" She asked. I rested my chin on Carl's shoulder, having to stand on my toes to actually get my chin on his shoulder. Rick, Carl, michonne and I have started working out--Rick and Carl and michonne more so than me. It's been a good two and a half months since the incident with Carl, and since then things have been more peaceful than ever. And Carl was more toned and slightly more buff than before, which I like, too.
"Oh, michonne. Flattery won't get you anywhere." I smiled. I felt the vibration of Carl's chuckles coming from his chest and I laughed.
"Yeah yeah. Go get me those mints. And Carl, we gotta change your bandages." Michonne said. Carl nodded and wrapped his arm around me, bringing me close. I rested my head on his chest as he put his chin on my head.
"I'll take Judith for you, Rick." I said. Judith clapped and giggled, playing around with her red solo cups. Rick nodded.
"Thank you, Mel." Rick nodded. I sent him a smile as Carl kissed the top of my head, unwrapping his arms from me and walking back into our room. I walked into the room as Rick kissed Judith's forehead, carefully handing her over to me.
"Be safe today, yeah? Oh, and if you can find anymore cookies--"
"If I find anymore cookies, they're yours, got it." Rick chuckled.
"You know me so well." I joked. I turned around and walked out of the room. Carl and michonne were in the bathroom changing Carl's bandages on his eye. I walked into our room and sat down on the bed with Judith. I placed her in her playpen with all her toys and watched her giggle and squeal happily.
"Melsa!" She waved her arms up and down. I smiled and bent down so I was level with her. She reached out for me but frowned when she couldn't reach me. She yelled out and thrashed around. I stood back up and picked her up.
"Someone doesn't like their crib, huh?" I said, ticking her belly. She giggled and squirmed around. I brought her over to the window. I sat down on the rocking chair and sat Judith on my lap so that she was looking out the window. She leaned forward and put her hands on the window, looking curiously outside. People were rebuilding from the wolves and the walkers attacks, and others were working on expanding the walls.
I watched as Carl walked into the room and sat down on the bed, looking me and Judy. He had this glimmer in his eye whenever he looked at her. (EYE HAHA)
I carefully stood up and walked over to the bed, laying down with Judith laying on top of me. Carl laid down beside me and put a hand on my head, stroking my hair out of my face. I turned my head and smiled at him as Judith laid her head on my chest.
"So Gabriel is watching Judith today." Carl said, smirking. I chuckled.
"Yeah, and?" I smiled. He rolled onto his side to face me.
"And...that means we get the day to ourselves." He rubbed his forehead and sweeped the hair out of his face before resting his head on his hand, looking down at me. "What do you wanna do?"
"I don't care. As long as we're together." I smiled. I carefully shifted over so I was closer to him. Carl put his arm under my back and played with my hair. I leaned my head against his and looked down at Judith, who was now fast asleep. I smiled sweetly as I rubbed my hand over her back.
"She looks just like your mom." I said, sighing. I looked over at Carl, who was looking down at his sister, a small smile on his face.
"Yeah. She does."
"You miss her, huh?" I asked. He nodded.
"All the time. But, I have you now. That's enough for me."

I felt Carl shifting around from beside me and I wrapped my arms around him tighter, moving my head to lay on his shoulder. I felt Carl wrap his arm back around me and place a kiss to my head. I saw a bright flash and I flinched, slowly opening my eyes. The first thing I saw was a camera. I saw it printing out a picture and I sighed, glancing up at Carl. I felt something slide off my head and I sat up, seeing Carl's hat fall off my head.
"Awww." I heard Carl say, chuckling. I crawled closer to him and looked at the film that was still developing. It was me sleeping, with Carl kissing my head. I took it out of his hands and looked at it.
"Oh, you have got to get rid of this." I said. He snatched the photo out of my hands.
"No way." He said, sitting up. I groaned and sat up.
"Guys, come on down. You've spent all day in there." I heard Carol say. I reached over and grabbed my watch, seeing that it was after three.
I rolled over Carl and stood up, grabbing his hat and jogging out. I got downstairs and stood across from Carol in the kitchen, leaning against the countertop. I put the hat on and took a cookie off the pan.
"Those aren't for you." She tapped my hand. I took a bite.
"Mmm... They should be." I smiled. I heard Carl stomp down the stairs, flattening his hair with his hand. I looked over at him and smiled.
"You two going out today?" Carol asked. I shrugged and looked over at him.
"Yeah. Just around, though." Carl nodded. Carol looked at me and smirked, raising her eyebrows.
I felt an arm wrap around my waist and I was pulled against Carl. I let out a scream and felt Carl's laughs through his chest. I put my hands on the hat and tried squirming out of his grasp.
"Carl!" I laughed. The door opened and I looked over, seeing Enid. I tapped Carl's back and he let go of me, quickly taking the hat off of my head. I looked up at him and frowned.
"Hey." I said to her.
"Hey. Uh, I came to ask Carl if we were still hanging out today." She looked over at him. Carl sighed and glanced over at me.
"Actually, I was gonna spend time with Mel--"
"No, no, you two can hang out. You two obviously made plans before Carl and I did." I shrugged. I watched Carol walk out of the door with her cookies.
"No, Melissa, it's fine." Carl said. I shook my head.
"I don't wanna get in between anything." I said.
"Are you sure, babe?" Carl asked. I nodded.
"I'll live." I said. The two walked out the door and I sighed. I wasn't jealous. I trusted Carl.
I just don't trust Enid.
